One more time...I promise.



I know everyone is getting tired of me asking for testing help, but this should be the last time for awhile, at least for server stability. We have updated the test server with some new underlying code that needs some significant stability testing. This code update is a new interface between the code we use for scripting on EZ, Perl, and the underlying EQ Emulator server code (primarily C++). While this has been tested quite extensively, EZ Server uses Perl scripting near universally, and is the most Perl heavy populated server on EQEmu, as such, we volunteered to be the guinea pigs in wider testing, as it benefits us the most. Scripting controls nearly every aspect of the game, including all custom NPC behavior, some spells, quests, chat interactions with NPC's, Teleporter etc., so even zone pulling and clearing some zones is helpful, as the NPC scripts will run, and we look for any issues. Even simply interacting with NPC's is helpful, and no amount of testing help is too small. If you are able to jump onto the Test server, and notice any issues, please respond here.

Following this testing, we will be basically up to date with the EQ Emulator server code, and shouldn't need to update for some time. We greatly appreciate the help, as it greatly reduces the chances of a bad update making it to our live server, and making a mess.

Immediately upon the completion of this test period, and the successful push to Live, I think it's time for....

Got some time to write down what I've found so far, which is nothing really. Just that what I've tested works like Live, nothing weird so far.

General:
ZP seems to work as it should. I tested it in four custom zones.

Nexus:
Epic Vendor seems to display stuff as he should and links to zones worked.
Trainer NPC for spells and discs works. All skills tested.
Siinge Blacklisted shows correct quest text and gives quest.
Audyins dialogue works and he gives quest and Epic book.
A Miners dialogue tested and action links work. Rainbow crystals gamble works.
Tsukasas dialogue works. I didn't have credits to test the shop.
Keeper of the Ages, handed in all types of crystals successfully.
MacGyver, sends you off to CG zone and gives quest if you're not flagged.
Teleporter seem to display her text correctly and send me to the custom zones with no issues so far. I've tested all the custom zones.
Free Buff Bot works.

Fighters Guild:
Trainer upgrades your skills like he should.

Plane of Dragons:
Rot Bot works.
Tikis tested and working.

Halls of Honor:
Greetings merchants dialogue works and correctly ports you to PoA upon request.

Plane of Air:
Observer NPCs dialogue works and teleports you to the boss island. Summoning bosses with tokens works.

Abyss:
Greetings Merchants dialogue works and correctly hands Epic book.

Anguish:
UCv2 NPC gives quest and updates when you hand in quest parts.

Loping Plains:
Zone pulled the place. NPCs drop stones, boss chains works and Archeologist spawns and ports you in to kill Epic boss once you have turned in the 12 stones.

Old Commonlands:
Hill Giants spawn as they should when clearing mobs in the zone, same with the sunken chest.

Sunderock Springs:
Bandit quest and accessories menu tested and working.
T10 expedition is tested and worked.

Will continue to update this along the way.

T10 is borken, I'm getting 100% mitigation on Tank, mobs do no damage until I turn my back.

Further to what sarth/tank already checked / listed

ZP/DL/TL all working fine

SR - facction quest npc's  - report correct faction and give armor ok
other quest npcs - respond ok

Nexus
Lotto Bot ok - gives pp / shouts on win
other npc respond as normal ( although leaderboard is fubar ) - needs a fix or just remove

Abyss
Bosses trigger as expected with the pulls i did

General loot from all mobs as expected

All in all everthing i tried script wise seemed fine


If any specific thing wants a good test, let us know

I did T10 and ToV ZP and mobs never did any damage.

I tried to remove ALL buffs and still taking no damage. It wasn't until I removed random equipped items that I started taking damage.

If I remove UW12 I take a little damage. The more UA pieces I remove the more NPCs will hit me.

Spell damage seems to hit.

Also VP mobs hit me like normal.
Sleeper mobs also hit me like normal.

Turn your back and they'll do damage but from the front I'm taking 0 damage in all zones apart from Sleepers and Veeshans..

Also as an important note:

The same applies for live, so this is not something isolated to test server only. I just ZP'ed T10 on live and I am taking zero melee damage.

#stats show 79% stonewall.

Assume this might have to do with the Int64 update that was pushed recently.

If you turn details on from your combat log are you parry/riposting/dodging everything or are they simply not attacking? The fact that it's only from the front makes me think there's something wonky with how avoidance bonuses are adding and it's making you have 100% parry + riposte + dodge.

I can also confirm 100% riposte, parry and dodge in T10 live from frontal melee attacks.

I will look into the damage issue. I know that when pulling Sunderock, you rarely take melee damage, which is why you can sit at 0% health and not die, it's almost all goop nuke damage.  I will do some testing tonight.

To be honest, I haven't done T10 in a long time and back when I did, I did have filters on, so I don't know if this is a new thing or not. Perhaps it's not. Removing all UA from me and add Orc armor and pull Orcs = death for me.

As a side note, everything we checked on the test server seems to be solid so far. No weirdness.

Test Server: Just my findings.

Plane of Time:
Henchmen: all working
Boss mobs: dropping all pages

South Ro:
Spawned Terrorantula: dropped book 1.5
Completed epic 1.5

Hushed Banquet: A beholder working as intended
Keys and Epic book drops ok

QVIC:
Armor molds, Quest tokens dropping normally

TOFS:
Gnome gives quest
Charm upgrades 1 and 2 are dropping
Named mobs spawn
Spawned Advisor Svartmane.  It's been awhile but when i engaged him he also spawned named helpers
(Cara Ormica Helper and Vhal Sera Helper) who were also up in the zone but still in their spawn spot. 
I remember him solo, must be new.  Drops are the same as live.

VP:
dokshadow losing hp every hit w/ painfully gorgeous, uc1 and call of the void V - seems to occur more often when increased frequency of crits.
UW12 dagger on rogue backstab not working. ST dagger still higher dmg.

i noticed that when i did my UA and got uc4/legendary roa i basically stopped being hit when i went back to t10, maybe heroic stats you gain all at once

I tried it with a ranger, no ignore death or anything, no UW as it's in inventory for bow, in T10 you can take no damage from orcs from the front, basilisks however will still do damage to you from the front.

The Summon Newbie Merchant reward item bought with EZ credits, does not function. You can't sell your stuff to him and he has nothing to sell.

Tested this on live. Summoning Newbie Merchant and opening vendor window, he has no items to sell. I could still sell platinum crates to him and receive platinum for them.

Crafter's Guild - Working as intended:
  • UW exchange for different types
  • Experience Mask upgrades

Crafter's Guild - Problem(s) found:
  • 100 Essence Tasks 1-6 work as intended both manually and via bulk turn-in options IF you do not have a max number of tasks. One of my toons had the max number of tasks due to armor turn-in tasks from SR. When I deleted several assigned tasks and attempted to gain the QVIC essence task, it would not work. Clicking the link would do nothing. Tried zoning in/out, camping, etc didn't make a difference.

Hohonora - Working as intended:
  • Shadow spawns after 30 minutes
  • Warps around like he should when attacked.

Airplane - Working as intended:
  • All t3 and t4 tokens summon correct mobs with correct loot tables.
  • Attempting to summon 2 mobs results in message and token destroyed as intended.

Sunderock - Working as intended:
  • As someone that's been grinding SR for almost 2 months (the ptsd is still fresh), combat seems fine. ZP is still hairy
  • Fortune Cookies and all single-use clickies (both scrolls and food items) work
  • Loot table appears normal after 5 ZPs.
  • Orc Weaponry turn-ins working. Hands item back if wrong weapon given as expected.
  • Stolen loot quest worked with both stolen loot items counting as 1 and Immaculate shards as 15.
  • Obtained Epic 10 aug
  • Leveled to 79
  • Mythical Hammer quest working
  • Undead spawn as intended at 9pm and 11pm, then despawn at 6am.

Sunderock - Problem(s) found:
  • Manually pulled 40+ mobs, then clicked Succor reward item; "Memories do not fade here" message appears as intended but hate list gets cleared. I tried this after clicking ZP spear and hate list was still cleared. Stood there for a few min in case XTarget window was maybe just bugged but seems hate list was properly cleared.

Sleeper - Problem(s) found:
  • Level 78 toons cannot enter public sleeper via Teleporter but CAN enter sleeper instance without getting booted.
  • Level 79 can enter via teleporter or instance without any UA without getting booted
  • Level 78 without UA, 79 without UA can enter instance of sleeper without getting booted
  • Well after further testing, currently have a nekkid lvl 1 toon standing in Sleeper guild instance without getting kicked

General items - Working as intended:
  • Combine 10 GLS to create SLS
  • Summon and interact with banker
  • Summon and interact with teleporter
  • Summon and interact with donation merchant. Able to buy/sell items as intended.
  • Server commands #help, #viewchangelog, #claim, #stats, hp, #donate and clicking link in popup, #zones, #forums, #EZGuide, #EZWiki, #magelo, #charmove, #corpsefix
  • Creating double/triple instances working, proper number of items deducted. Alts cannot enter these instances until I open them up as should be the case.
  • Repopping instance with free WP donation item works properly, no plat cost. Repopping without deducts plat as intended.
  • Guild invite and accept works.
  • Newly created toons receive all relevant items (ie: 1.0, Noobie v1, Book of Complete Healing, etc

General items - Problems found:
  • #rules command reports "Your status is not high enough to use this command."
  • #character_move doesn't appear to do anything but #charmove pops up so not sure if this matters
  • Crunchy 'Pie' (Halloween Event), Questionable 'Feast' (Halloween Event), and Group Vitality (Halloween Item) all work/buff you with HW event obviously turned off.

Updating as I go through..

I just tested this and it's working fine for me. Had alts utilize the summoned merchant as well without any trouble. Are you possibly at plat cap?

So far so good up to T2 complete. Did 1 quest per noob vendor and doing turnins on epic 1.5-3.0, FG quest, all armor up to T2.

Gotta go get groceries, will be back to continue. Anything specifically you want tested?

I want to thank everyone for the excellent response to my call for testing help. There are still issues that have yet to be addressed, however they don't seem related to our update, which is great. I know that there are times when I ask for help identifying problems, and those problems don't get immediately addressed, but they will. These last 2 server code updates have been consuming most of my time, along with some general script cleanup, so that our error logs are reporting actual actionable errors, instead of math problems because a zone is empty. This should eventually allow us to find issues in scripts that cause actual problems during your gameplay. I really do appreciate your help, and patience, as we work through these updates.

Please continue to play on Test if you can, as the more time we have on this update, the less likely it will be to have any negative effects on the Live server.

REally no problems yet up through T4, all epics completed all armor completed, flagged for T5. Starting T5 now.
