Hi all, been busy with life, new job, and some shit so haven't had time for gaming. Hope everybody on the server is having a good time.

I've had enough people reach out to me about my macros being broken that I just put out a fix.

This is for people using a modern MQ version with the "mqnext" or whatever they decided to call it...

The issue is with the event system.

This is now broken: #Event cMain   "[MQ2] cMain #1#"
This is the fix: #Event cMain   "cMain #1#"

Events prefixed with [MQ2] will no longer work, so you can do that on your own if you know how to mass remove text from files, or you can do a pull from my main branch.

Also, if you don't want to use a modern MQ version, I created another branch that has the original events.
That is here: https://gitlab.com/ez-server-tools/clyde_macros/-/tree/pre-mqnext
2  General Category / Updates / Re: Guardian Charm and Ignore Death on: January 19, 2023, 05:21:05 pm
Guardian and ZPs are a large reason why I'm no longer playing. They make the gameloop very repetitive and leaves little room for skill or even thought. While my army grew to 30+, my use of characters plummeted to only using my Warrior essentially.

My best time playing this server was grinding up the tiers and at one point I decided to try out TOFS. First floor was easy, but then 2 kicked my ass and I had to farm up res stones on all my chars and I was able to get to floor 3 which kicked my ass when I tried to do big pulls, so I had to slow it down and do small pulls and utilize my whole team between healing and using vie/drakes, and DPSing fast with my whole team it was great.

Right now, the server is largely based around ZPing, so I don't think nerfing guardian would solve the issues I personally have. The design of VP to be more about fewer stronger mobs is great, but the rest of the content is still all about mass pulling and if you don't have ZPs or guardian, the grind would be excessive. I know this may be a controversial opinion, and also there isn't a quick solution... but these are my PERSONAL issues with the server.

My solution would be to massively nerf guardian, and remove ZPs. Rework the content around slower dungeon crawling with small pulls and thoughtful use of game mechanics. With the removal of guardian/zp, it might be as easy as upping the progression rate.

I understand that the changes I'm talking about aren't perhaps in the spirit of EZ. I just thought I'd share the things that made me fall in love with the server, and ultimately fall out of love with it.

--- Also, a side note to address Tank's comment: You may think my macros are too powerful, but I personally could accomplish everything in them combat wise (so barring stuff like looting) with in-game socials. This is because I have professional experience in software, 20 years of on again off again experience writing and tinkering with EQ socials, and tons of experience boxing with 0 tools in many different games. Many of the other high-end players have similar knowledge at least in EQ socials. I wrote my macro collection as a way for people inexperienced with software, socials, and boxing to have the ability to box and just play on a more level playing field without making a full time job out of learning macros. This server has a big problem with it's barrier to entry, and I made my collection just user friendly enough to enable high end play but still require a little bit of work.

Cheers- Clyde

Anyone can share a light on this?

I don't provide very specific instructions mostly on purpose, or just out of laziness, but I'll provide a little info.

Most of the configuration you can figure out by opening the files and just explore what it's doing. At some level my collection is beginner friendly, but I expect you to learn a little about MQ2 as you go along to tweak things to your liking.

cBuff - I have this set up for buffs that are currently available to my crew, you need to change it to use the buffs you want, and add any classes I don't have.

cDefensive / cOffensive - same as above

cHeal - same as above

cInstance - cMac.ini contains a section [cInstCharacters] , this is intended to be used on characters that have the reward instance item, add names of characters who have one.

cLoot - You'll need to set up ini files for your characters in the cLootIni folder. You can use my file for Qekiibre as a general catchall for loot, also look in the template folder for other things.

cManualRez - In cMac.ini there is a section called [Rezzers] where you add your rezzers for this macro.

cVie - Also in cMac.ini there is a section [Clerics] that this will rotate through (mileage may vary if you don't use DanNet)

Reserving first post for Updates

Update 8/26/2022 - Added cComb for fast combines based on recipes in cComb.ini. Easily combine UW1-12 with the included templates. If you make more recipes please share them with me so I can add them.
Update 9/13/2022 - Added Socials.txt as an attachment to the OP. This is the socials section from the character file on Qekiibre. If you want examples of ingame macros that I use look here.

Clyde Macros

Set up your UI and buttons on 1 character then use /copylayout with socials checked and you're good to go. Any character can be your driver with no extra configuration.

Decide your follow macro isn't following close enough? Normally you'd have to change the Social button on all chars, but if you use /echo cMain cFollow you just have to change it in cMain.inc.

I decided to just have the download from my GitLab so it's the most up to date when you get it. If you're using https://mqemulator.net/ version of MQ you'll need to change to EQBC. run cMac and then look at the help command "/cHelp". You'll need to use /cEQBC, and likely /cTogZoneBc if you don't have access to /bcza commands.

Please visit the GitLab for instructions

Components

There's still a lot of stuff I'd like to implement / improve, but everything is in a pretty good state right now, so here we go!

I'm getting busy with life stuff ATM so I won't be playing much/any for a while, but I'll be around on Discord and am more than happy to help you out if you need.

Wizzie robes wrong
T4 should be: Solusek Ro's Robe Patterns
T5 should be: Solusek Ro's Robe Patterns II

I think the T2 has same issue for Wizzie, but I just used Dragon class stuff for all so I can't confirm that.

T2 Necro Robe should be : Corpse Gatherer's Robe Patterns

Thanks for the event Draca! It was a ton of fun! While I was mostly cannon fodder. I did tank some adds for a short while. Was a lot of fun to have everybody in Discord chatting. The lore bits were a nice touch, really polished.

That's pretty awesome. Going to give it a try now with 24 boxes. Thanks for posting this!

I tried it, brought ram usage to about 1gb per and performance was great, but stability of clients went down. I was crashing too often so I removed it.

78 you get the max listed value of the item.

Yeah, that's how it works, I'm pretty sure it's the button "modified/unmodified" on the inspect window. For ultimate I click it and it switches between 490~k and 500k, so even if that was displaying incorrectly it would not account for some of the augs providing negative HP.

Thanks for the offer BTW, but I've had plenty of help so far, and I'm having fun with Mope and others progressing together!
Where are you looking for these numbers? I'm guessing you are using the stats command but since your screenshot is of a spreadsheet and not of your in game stats I think it's best to clear up whether you are looking at the correct hp or not first.

I'm using the /say #stats menu. I haven't fully taken off all gear and added up HPs to see what's all going on yet, but something is wonky.

I just got lvl 77 and have all the Foxy augments. They are required lvl 77, and Recommended 78. I'm not too familiar with  these mechanics as I haven't played live in a while and my most recent EQ playing was P99 which didn't really have this kinda thing.

I attached a screenshot of a spreadsheet I put together at 4am when I couldn't sleep which pretty much shows that the augs do not give what they say.

For example:
Foxy's Ultimate Aug is giving me ~75khp when it is listed as 493khp.
Superior aug is lowering my hp by 148khp when it's listed as 306khp.

The resists they give seem to be somewhat accurate... not perfect, but close enough I guess.

My Shield of Ages currently has an Anguish shield aug (7.5khp) which seems to work decently, but if I put Foxy's Rusted Aug in it, it lowers my hp by 500k~

Note: I am getting values from the /say #stats menu.

Yesterday I made a triple TOFS instance for 1 hour and it expired. Today I tried making another, and it says that it got created but it does not consume a token and it does not get created.
