Do you mean an item that casts a wizard spell? If so, no idea, but I don't think there are any worth while. Or do you mean an item that amplifies spells? If so, staff of fluxing power, bought off the newbie vendor. Use that until you can get a sorc charm and upgrade it.

To the best of my knowledge the best you are going to get would be the staff or they sorc 1 until you get your sorc upgraded. The sorc 1 and the staff are both the same amount increased.

QVIC drops a few items that give you a 60% boost rather than the 50% from the staff. I still equip the staff but just for the 1k mana really. The QVIC cloth quest gloves give 60% to fire spells as well as the "Goresteel Spaulders". Might be the Tris embroidered felt cloak or "Persuasive Glimmering Serpant" as well.

IIRC you get no stats from the ammo slot, just the effect.
