Title: Bard AA's
Post by: pouncer on December 20, 2010, 08:57:34 am
Can anyone provide a good link that spells out exactly where to put my AA points in?  Something recent/relevant?  Don't see too many specifics out there so far.  Thanks!

Since most bard things are gimped to the extreme I would say it doesnt matter. Also since you will max aa in a very short period of time I wouldnt worry to much.
Get the defensive ones so you take a tad less damage per hit, get in the FG for the skill boost and enjoy the class as best you can.. Until you replace it with something useful.

Yeah you will max your AAs soon I wouldn't worry to much.  Balthor will run your 3.0s give him a tell in game..

After I do your 3.0 Fugitive promised he would do your 3.5 AND 4.0
If he isnt online Wack can handle that for you.

See, this is the reason why I like to sit in the background and not be important enough to volunteer anyone but myself.

I just maxed my aa's (ALL 1173 + some i didn't spend on casting subtley) yesterday.

The only real important ones in the mess, imho, were instrument / singing aa's (some of which don't work, i didn't test coming up in ranks) and defensive aa's to help with those nasty custom zone rampages.

Bard run7 is nice, as are the crit dot aa's and the range extension, but you can live without them. Everything that is important to a melee character is eventually important to you as well.

If you need any help and you see me online, just drop a tell.

I would get the crit dot AA
As currently singing all your dots is the only real dps you will do.

Oh those songs do damage?  I thought all they did was sting and annoy mobs!  Yeah Balth and I have a hard on for the way bards used to be, may they rest in peace.

Heh.  ;)

You can have a dot of each kind up at any given time, for those that don't know.

With a 3.0 + aa's and your 5 dots running, 4 will do around 1431 non crit, and one does 1296 non crit. Crits run about 2800 / 2600 iirc.

You get about 2.5 tics per /melody, as the dots tic 3 times before they disappear. It works out to about 1100dps once you get it all running if my math is on par. (Measly in comparison to the dps you COULD be buffing a group with, assuming haste/ds/etc. was working correctly.)

NOW, since the haste issues i've been switching to this more and more in lieu of Warsong / Call of Power buffs, BUT a 5 song (6 if you include the lvl 43 dd, does 7k/14k but ends your melody) is pretty tedious, EVEN for a single boxer.

YMMV

With puretone clicked you can do a shitload of damage with the dots.
Ahhh fuck I went and posted that, expect a nerf on that last marginally acceptable part of the class now ><

You know, I completely forgot about that ...

In before the nerf.

Shit we need to nerf bard mana regen song next.
Cant he having 2k regen every 6seconds from a song.
What ever would this custom server come to if we regulated bards to mana batteries for the Legions of T3 blasting wizards.

Fyi: dont take this thread seriously cause its not srz biz

Does'nt matter Hunter nerfed the shit out of Wizards so bad that nobody plays em anymore anyhow.

I sat Nagato and Fryingpan in the FG the other night and timed how long it was between casts.
Seriously I might as well write a in game line macro for it.
/cast t3nukelawls
/pause 60min (seriousy lets go watch 60minutes!)

Truth be told if the mana cost was reduced it wouldnt be any issue. The damage is no where near where it use to be. Figure about 35k mana should be a good spot.

Yeah its too bad considering Gnome wizards are so cool.

Regarding the mana cost for the Wizard T3 spell.  I had suggested lowering it to 40k per cast and according to Hunter this is on the to-do list and high priority.  Perhaps, he can respond here regarding the status.

bah push for 35k its a nice solid number in line with the power of the spell as it is now.
35k is a good number for your average box (hah T2 rots) wizards mana pool to sustain some dps on a mob.

Yeah 35k would be nice hopefully Hunter can get this changed so I can dust off my old wizards so they can help my wars get full T4.
