Title: Range attack not working with Melody
Post by: Undeterred on November 15, 2011, 03:31:21 pm
When I'm singing songs with melody, I can't seem to throw anything... usually i have to stop the melody throw, and restart...

This is NOT affected by a single song...

I think I figured it out...

if you're casting, you're not attacking.... well, a bard is always casting (aka twisting) therefore... no melee or ragnge DPS output from bards...

Yeah, bards can attack and twist their songs at the same time.

Hmmm... interesting...

try this...  go to Surefall a distance away from the practice dummy...

now start your melody,

load up some shurikens and "/autofire"

Nothing...well as close to nothing as it gets, he may throw a rare one if it times exactly between songs

now run up to 'em and turn on melee attack... still nothing...

BUT if you just run up to it and melee attack ... without /autofire beforehand the bard will melee as normal while twisting  (turn on/off/then back on after autofire also works)

That is because your character is still trying to autofire range attacks and you are not at the proper distance so he does nothing. If you turn off autofire, and turn on auto attack it will start swinging.

I have this issue with my Ranger all the time.  If I have autofire on, and turn melee attack without turning autofire off first, he will not start swinging his swords.  If I turn autofire off first, then attack on, I melee just fine.  If I turn attack on without turning autofire off first, I have to turn attack off, then back on again at least once ( sometimes 2-3 times ) before he will actually swing them swords.  Not really a major deal, and is only a minor bother.
