First thing I do when I format is relocate the "My Downloads" and "My Documents" (and the others that don't matter as much) to my HDD. That way all PROGRAMS and the OS are installed in the SSD, but all the storage stuff is automatically redirected to the HDD

I wouldn't clone it. Just do a fresh reinstall (format) of Windows after backing everything up to an external, or a usb drive, or whatever.

You'll need to press *the* key (it varies) on bootup (delete, or one of the F#s, like F8 or F10 to get into the bios setup) - this is basically just the Motherboard's "settings"

Once you're at the bios setup, you'll want to change boot order so that it boots from CD first.

Once you've done that just restart your PC with the Windows install disk in, press "a key" when it says to press a key to boot from CD, and follow the directions Smiley

BAM you got yourself a fresh, clean, adware and virus free installation of Windows.

I like to format every few months anyway... keeps my box running light, and free of the crap that you pick up, even with careful use and an antivirus program.

Even if your SSD is only 120gb... that's still enough for an OS and a few games. I just reformat and put the OS and EZ on your existing SSD rather than getting a new one. Juts my thoughts.

I do have a solid state drive that has only my EZ stuff on it and that was a nice uptick in performace.... I will do the other stuff when I get home...

... and your OS? or just EZServer?

I think I spent 3k on this comp from Alienware back in the day... it was bad ass...

You can still get good name brand (Alienware) computers, you're just going to spend way more money, and they often make odd decisions on what hardware to put in the pc:

* Alienware X51 Slim Desktop] $1500 - but uses a HDD (no SSD), and a GTX 760 (sub-par video card for the price... and video card is arguably the single most important component)

* Alienware Area-51 $3000 - it does have the DUAL (SLI) GTX980 (great video card), but STILL only has a 128gb SSD, and 16gb RAM... but hey, it's a triangle

With the cost of that cheaper alienware, you could get top-end hardware in every single category (e.g. i7 processor with GTX980 and 500GB SSD) - and your $1500 built PC would be better than the $3000 alienware - although I guess you couldn't buy that second GTX980 for the dual cards. For $1800 you could have a computer that was better in every way than the $3000 alienware.

Chunka is fancier than I am - i7 and 32GB RAM

What's faster than lightning? Whatever it is, that's what Chunka's computer is Smiley

Although realistically, you can't tell much of a difference between the i5 and the i7 on non-editing software, and you certainly can't tell the difference between 16 and 32GB RAM - for normal use. (12 would probably be more than enough in 98% of all computer use, including gaming) - although I've heard that running lots of EZ Boxes and other applications can creep past 16.

From what I can tell, the graphics card is the only component where you will notice performance increases going with the top-top end cards. A GTX980 @$450 will outperform a GTX970 @ $315... even though both are super fast, especially with games in our current year (and probably for a few years to come)

The important things IMO are to make sure you're running your Operating System and games (e.g. EZServer) on a Solid State Drive - for $75 for a 250gb and $150 for a 500gb SSD, you don't even need another HDD, and you're going to notice more performance increase than upgrading any other single component (assuming your components aren't on the low end).

keep in mind my case is still my original alienware from like 1999 or some shit...maybe 2000 lol...all internals where updated a few years ago but its that time again..

best bang for my $$...

suggestions?

I'm guessing all of your hardware could probably stand to be replaced at this point. For example, you should probably upgrade your video card, but you would need a new motherboard. You should probably upgrade your RAM, but new RAM won't be compatible with your 1999 RAM, etc...

But you could link the specs just for giggles and we could see

https://choosemypc.net/ is a great site to recommend hardware to build a PC in sliding scale price ranges... with or without pricing in an OS, in case you have access to one and don't want to include that in your price.

If you know what you're doing AT ALL, definitely don't buy a pre-made computer, especially not an alienware, or comparable "brand name" gaming computer. You're going to pay an extra 50% premium over building it yourself.

Here's my (lightning fast) PC build... adds up to $1074 (not counting the extra optical drives, the wifi card, or the other HDDs)

* 4GBx2 (8GB) RAM $37
* Samsung 850 EVO 500gb Solid State Drive $150
* Intel Core i5 4690k $224
* Corsair 200r case $58
* GTX970 4GB Video Card $325
* Corsair CX600 600W Power Supply $65
* CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU Fan $30
* Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM Strip $35
* MSI ATX DDR3 2600 "Gaming" Motherboard $149

BUT you don't have to do all that for a fast build. And if you're just wanting to play EZServer, this is way overkill obviously. That's the beauty of https://choosemypc.net/ - it does a pretty damn good job of recommending the best hardware for a $600 build... or a $400 build... or a $1000 build... or a $1200 build (IMO)

^  my rig, I dremmeled the solid case and put in a plexiglass side.

I haven't played in a while (which is going to be apparent with my question)

"Epic 3.0
* Complete the QVic token quest.
* Collect all visible pieces of armor from QVic.
* Hail the Level Up Wench to become flagged for Plane of Dragons
* Give the Completed Epic Book 3.0 along with your epic weapon 2.5 to the Epic Vendor for your Epic Augment 3.0"

I see that the ancient sand monster no longer drops the completed epic 3.0

How DO you get the completed 3.0 now then?

http://ezserverwiki.com/Getting_Started

^ Follow this guide exactly

MacroQuest is free. If you're paying money for it, you're getting features that are considered "cheating" on EZServer, and you'll get banned. Don't pay for it =)

100% free to play on EZServer

If you have an account just go ahead and edit the article to reflect this. There are lots of places on the wiki that are incorrect I imagine. Thank you Smiley

lol

The max level mask change is definitely a good one imo.

The 1-70 grind is rediculous with a 300+% mask.

That's a good way of looking at it, Noot. Kudos
