Good job, grats!

One of my funnest names was also highly offensive and was presented as a choice by the random name generator on live in '99:  A troll shadowknight got offered "Bagukum" and I was all over that like honeybees on a wasp!  It eventually received a complaint and was banned for several years, but now the live side filters allow the name.

Skeezy got picked because, well, trolls are skeezy, ratty things and this guy is a troll.  Cheesy

Lihom is an acronym for Legend In His Own Mind because each and every one of is...  Wink

Punkadin and his partner Palipunk are dual shouts to my elder son and a friend from live, as well as a couple friends from WoW as these are the nicknames I used to refer to their paladins. Grin

Chromedome Shiny Pate is an Erudite wizard... you seen that kid's forehead?  'Nuff said!   Smiley

Calmist During Storms the enchanter is named as if he were on a server where enchanters actually function!  Shocked

Slab O Meat is the ogre warrior as you would expect.  Roll Eyes

Have fun with them gang, I really get a big smile from a well played name.  A classic example would be Xiggie's Shaman, Foreign Policy.  Best name for an MGB toon evah!

Just to state the obvious for whoever is gonna score community brownie points by consolidating it all into one clear post...

You probably want to drop the adds as they spawn.  Cheesy

Excellent coverage of the topic, thanks!

I farm Shadow for the charm upgrades he drops(1) and cosign what Xiggie said with the note that my experience has typically been he jumps somewhere between 60 and 18%, though sometimes at 16%.  He did jump on an FM crew once at 9% while I was there.  My suspicions from seat-of-the-pants observation is that he generally jumps less with lower dps killing him.  I typically see 1-3 jumps if it is just me and the pal and clr alts, 4-7 jumps if another crew aids.  If that is correct it will help you.  Once your main tank gets up around 170k you should have him on farm status. (Enough depth to take a couple stiff shots after your healers just got stunned.)  My pally (173k, t4/t5, 4.0, Oracle 24) and cleric (160k, t4/t5, 4.0/3.5, UC) have no trouble as long as they recall to pack a lunch for the all day job.

As for the mechanics of the fight, it is a simple tank-and-spank. He roots fairly soon in the fight so you need to be fast about positioning your team or you need to hold them outside the root range until he ties down the main tank, then position them. (That requires a 200k tank with a heal, either SK or pally.)  Once everyone is in position and pumping out the dps you can pretty much AFK if you need to.  He'll jump or he'll die.  But his damage output is fairly consistent, steady with spikes, and as long as your healers are hanging in it's an easy fight that generally requires no attention at all. (This is assuming you have pulled him out of the path of any potential patrols here!)

On T3/T4 fights you probably already have learned it is usually best to wipe the adds as they occur unless you have significant HP and dps on your team.  Xiggie covered MCP fight pretty well for you.  This one is tough enough I do not have the crew to solo it. Smiley

(1) In addition to the 3.5 book he drops 12 random gems and 1-3 charm upgrades of either type, v1 or v2.  Even at a rate of 1 v1 upgrade per kill (Over time it is closer to 2 per kill average) and including the hassle of killing him multiple times to loot him, this is vastly preferable to doing LDONs for working on a UC.  Cheesy  Skeezy spent 146,000 LDON points on his.  Lihom spent 20,000 on his.  Punkadin is currently O-24, S-17, G14, B-7 with all his v2's stacked and waiting... he hasn't spent a single LDON credit.  Wink

What Gnome said....

EQ is based on a trinity of factors.... damage mitigation, damage removal, and damage infliction.  Your necro does the dps part fine, and healing on himself/pet fair.  Neither your necro nor his pet is very good at mitigation.  For that you need plate.  At the highest levels you not only need plate, you need it on a warrior.

But for 99% of what you do on EZ either a pally or an sk will do fine as a partner for your necro.  You may be better served by optimaxing Gnomemercy's advice and level an SK / Pally combo *then* develop your necro.

....I'm leaving UW thanx for everything hope but nothing for the best for you and everyone else there they are cool as hell folks.

If you're looking for a guild bro give me a holler in game.  FM is not currently recruiting but we have an 'exceptional player' loophole that I think you'll fit through.  Wink

I try to stay out of these little drama things, but Gumboo, I think I need to react to your posts.

Fail Mongers?  Why do you need to disparage other guilds?  If Fear Mongers is such a 'fail' why are all our mains and senior alts toting 4.5's and sporting T5 gear?  If we are fail and your guild cannot do what we do, where does that leave you mate?  I'm just saying....  Augs are important in this game.  Clearly they are or you would not have refused return of this one.  Now if your guild were as 'fail' as Fear Mongers then you would have an aug program to see to it that all your guild mains are packing level V's of their class augs that were provided to them by the guild.

As a guild Fear Mongers is not about hating on other guilds or players.  We are about having a good time and doing all the fun things you can do from the top of the game.  We're about sharing that with other players through things like open hunts in T5 and running armor giveaways in T1 through T4.  It is about growing a community, not a person... we want to have fun without screwing up other folks' fun.

I would appreciate it if you would refrain from disparaging my crew.  On the one hand it is trashy to do it at all.  On the other hand you look pretty lame when you try trashing folks who generally act nicer than you do.

Be the bigger Troll, drop the nasty, aight?   Thanks man!

My post will make a ton of sense to the involved players.

A portion of the hatred being dumped on Nubo is because he 'drove me from FM' or "FM chose Nubo over Skeezy' and it just ain't like that at all.

The only instance I am aware of FM choosing Nubo over an existing member is, to the best of my knowledge, an entirely appropriate personnel action based on comments and actions of the member.

My experience in FM has been a pleasant one and the guild continues to be one I will consider membership in when I decide to re-guild.  LL is a good leader, young yet but growing well and a conscientious manager.  He actively works to develop his membership and that's a rare and Good Thing(tm)!

While Nubo may have had some issues in the past on server, most of what I have seen him accused of are things that all of us have done a time or three, sometimes even intentionally!

All I'm saying here is it is a game and folks should chillax a bit is all.  If a player's style bothers you, use the /ignore and motor on down the road.  If they're breaking rules, FRAPS is your friend!

Now let's all get out there and slay monsters!!!   Cheesy
87  General Category / General Discussion / Why I left Fear Mongers... Words from a Skeezy Ratty Troll on: July 06, 2011, 08:20:38 am
I recently departed Fear Mongers and (apparently) stirred up a bit of a storm.  As near as I can tell the word on server is Nuboorodi (Spelling, sorry man!) is the reason I left FM.  Seeing the recent thread kicking his past history around I cannot help but be reminded of the pink monkey in a cage of browns... they get kicked around a lot for no apparent reason also!  Cheesy

So to help settle this cruft down a skosh, I'm going to address the issue publicly.

Several days before my departure from FM we had a meeting of most of the senior guild management members and decided FM had enough members and needed to be focusing on developing current member capabilities to put The Abyss on farm status.  While I was out of game due to RL stuff for two days this issue was revisited by the management team and subsequently re-decided to act on and clear the current applicants list.

In short, a management team decision that I participated in was re-made WITHOUT my participation.  There are a variety of good reasons why this is not a good management practice; LordLarwin and I have discussed most of them in GREAT detail!  Grin  (I'll wager LL learned more from this incident than the average 3 students learn in Management 201  Cheesy )

So while Nubo was peripherally involved in my decision, as he was one of the several folks added, his involvement is only peripheral and had no significant bearing upon my decision.   My issues were with management and have been fully addressed.

I'd appreciate it, as I'm sure Nubo would too, if we can slow down on the jackboots to his face, aight?  Thanks!  Wink

Don't ya'll think it is time to either stop kicking this player around or to move this thread to Rants and Flames?

I'm just saying....

This is not a problem.

If you are well enough off in game to be able to develop other players character instead of your own then you are well enough off to afford a group or guild instance to provide that help.

It is discourteous to PL someone in a public area where other players are working on leveling.  It is a particularly ugly form of rude to take spawn away from one lower level player to give it to another in a PL situation.
