is there any reason under the sun that you wouldn't see any text what so ever?

no loot text, say, friends, ooc, nothing in any chat box

yeah so i tried a few things....

relogging
using different UI's and default
logging in with wineq and without
using dirty words
resizing chat windows
x'ing out all chat windows but one
logging in with mq off
throwing my keyboard
changing screen resolutions
zoning

I just cant get anything to come up in the chat windows, except, the UI warning about your XML files are not compatible with eq files, etc etc, change to default 1, which i do, and get the same message so clearly that message is wrong $$

i know this sounds stupid but ...
download the 7 parts to get to a fresh start ( unzip all to a new folder, leave old alone for now).
do NOT copy over any xml files or UI files. try to log in and see what happens.

yeah im still getting jack

downloaded a brand new copy of UF off the guide.....someone doesnt want me to play i guess

well actually i can still play, just no chat, no text, notta in the boxes

i guess it isnt so bad lol

actually logging in from 3 folders

my main eq folder
my bot eq folder
and the new downloaded folder

2 old ones worked like a champ 2 days ago, i did nothing, no updates, etc, whatever, no one cares

and the newly downloaded one, WTF really?

Sounds like you have the mq2 filter on and filtering everything. .

Check the game text without mq2 loaded

If you can see chat then go into macroquest.ini and remove the filters you have at the bottom

Edit...

Just noticed you said you tried with mq2 off

So not sure what your problem is. ..
