It's not SARS, but I have found this UI to work very well for me. I have it on my main and my bots. Main window is 1280x720 and bot windows are 600x450.

Just install the UI first and overwrite the minimap files second.

What version of eq does that work with? 07 might be titanium.

I use it with my UF install. There is also a newer version on eqinterface, though I haven't tried that.

I've seen custom UI pieces that show all your bagged items in just 1 window. Would be a cheap work around, since emu currently doesn't support bigger bags.

I personally use this mini map mod which has an extra tab with all the bags in rows with their contents. the link goes to the eq interface page where you can see and download it.

For an easy way to get all the Directx files, do a google search for Direct x Web setup. The first result should be a microsoft page with the correct file. If you open that, your computer will get all the DirectX 9 files it is missing. Even if you have a new computer with vista/7/8 you should do this since those usually don't have the files for DirectX9.

Not sure how overpowered this idea would be:
Have a vendor with certain patterns/molds in each of the T1-6 zones, make some recipes which combine a certain amount of patterns/molds you have looted with the pattern/mold you need to make the one you are looking for.

ie. combine a T2 cloth boot pattern from the vendor with a Warrior T2 bootmold, a Monk T2 boot mold and a Shaman T2 boot mold to make a Necro T2 boot mold. You would still need your previous armor and the class ore ( maybe make a recipe to change a few to your class ore ) to actually make the armor.

You could even make the vendor only availeble after killing mob X a number of times.

Right click the icon -> properties -> security tab

Here is a link to a nice program from microsoft which will install any DirectX files you need for version 9.0c and earlier.

For later versions of DirectX you will need to have windows 7.
You should also try to get a version of Driver Pack Solution. It's a program with 3+GB of drivers built in that will automatically detect which hardware you have and install the needed drivers.

You should first start MQ2 and then EQBC. aftet that is loaded you should start EQ. If you are using Windows Vista or 7 you should may also need to start MQ2 and EQBC as an admin. This should automatically connect you to eqbc.

I don't know if your button is typed wrong but there should be no spaces between the '/' and the text, so your button should be:

/pause 5
/bca //stick

Just install the new EQ into another folder and keep titanium to aug your range item.

I'm trying to make each tier, and each grind quest, different from each other.

RoA - Re-Leveling
Charms - Uber Rare Drops
Sceptre - Task Kill Quest for whole raid to get same time
Shield - Boss kills from each tier
etc

Each Tier zone is different, from Place Holders, to no trash, boss gem turn ins, triggered spawns, A to B dungeon crawls like Anguish, Muliple zones like LDoN, or just randomly killing trash/bosses for chance of loot like BoT. Next zone T7 expected to be a new style as well (although similar to Halloween Event).

I am looking for new ideas for grind, and ways to earn uber gear without seeming like a boring grind.

I noticed just about anything can be auged but the charm. I would like to see an aug specifically for the charm ( since its already socket 7 you can't put it somewhere else ). Maybe something like the old pop charm, not aug, that got better with the flags you got from killing pop progression bosses. You could make it start at qvic, getting a flag for all the 15 bosses, then tacvi, pod,pog etc. Each time you get a flag or maybe the tier your aug gets better. You could even put in extras for old world dungeons.

I was going to download the new UF client from your Hateborne link, but there is no info on any of the zips or filenames that give any clue as to which version is which. The readme file has no info whatsoever. I know I
m running Win7 - 64 on my machine, but there is 14 different versions of the client.

Any light you can shed on this, please?

You'll need to download all the parts. Together they form the entire 6+ GB install of UF. You'll also need 7zip to extract the files the correct way.

Something else to think about are the classes and races that you'll be able to play. for both ftp and silver these 2 rules apply:

The four free races included with FREE and Silver Memberships are: Human, Erudite, Barbarian and Gnome.
The four free classes included with FREE and Silver Memberships are: Warrior, Cleric, Wizard, and Rogue.

for ftp you can only have 2 toons per server, 100PP per lvl and 4 bags on your person.
for silver you can only have 4 toons per server, 500pp per lvl and 6 bags on your person.

you can't use shared bankslot or the bazaar and you are restricted in spell use.

All of a sudden i'm a lot less enthusiastic about trying out Live again after a 5+ year break.
