I finished doing the crafters guild on a character this weekend and was a bit disappointed that completing this didn't flag me for the 2.5+ epics.  Any chance of this being changed to be the same as FG and CG?

It's not meant to be an alternative for epics. Probably never will be either. You're still going to want to get into FG or CG for the skillups and vendor stuff anyway.
