CONTEST

This video contest is for players to FRAPS (record) some good videos of the Halloween Event going on this weekend. Maybe show the zones it was held in and each of the T1-T3 bosses that spawn. Some video Cazic Thule rampaging 50 players would be awsome too! Show some of the loots, quest, etc. Let the viewer completely understand how much fun the Halloween Event was on the EZ Server and how it worked. Add some Title, Credits, Music, etc to make the video enjoyable to watch too.

REWARD

The (3) three best videos that get posted this weekend (in this topic/thread) by Monday will receive a free Ultimate Charm. REQUIREMENTS

Post video here in this topic by Monday, and the winner(s) must find a way send the original video to Hunter before they can receive their reward. Be sure to include your toons name and guild name with the video to receive credit. Only 1 reward per toon / multiboxer. This can be verified thru IP that the same person doesn't get 2 rewards.

HOW TO MAKE A VIDEO

You can record with FRAPS. If your unable to buy/find the full version, you can use the trial/demo version which I think allows to record up to 30 seconds at a time. http://www.fraps.com/ (http://www.fraps.com/)

Most Windows PCs come with a Windows Movie Maker, or similar program, to edit videos on a time line, add music, and save to a video format.

Make an account on YouTube, upload the video, then post it here.

Users are welcome to post ideas how to make and post videos on here. This should get you started for now.

Don't know how to make a video? Ask in the forums here, or do some Google searching. There are a lot of free tools, so you don't have to spend any money to make a video. Most people haven't made a gameplay video before, so it should be the same for most people, making their first video, figuring it out for the first time, etc.

I know Hazard can make some real professional videos, but not sure if is still online and playing. I think he might have won in our last contest.

hey guys, as much as i'd like to come back and sweep the competition again and earn all sorts of phat lewts I didn't really deserve in game - i'm just too busy with real life obligations.

Kade here! This is my video submission for this years 2010 Halloween contest. This is my very FIRST video ever made so it took about 2 hours to make. I tried to make cazic do his wave animation whenever he said thriller but it was being a pain in the ass. There is also a couple seconds of the 5 CT unrest fest (right before the zone crashed). Figured out why it wasn't converting it right.

I guess sleeping on it instead of racking my brain worked heh.

Looks like we have possible 16 videos already in the contest.

I know one or two are not working due to copy rights on music I guess, so try to use music that won't get your video banned from the websites.

The Top 3 Videos will receive an Ultimate Charm.

I think I'll give the runners up a nice treat for the work they put in.

Everyone has until the end of Monday to Submit.

Then to be eligible for a reward, you must submit the video (upload the orig file) to Hunter.

I think http://www.vimeo.com/ allows you to "enable" the video to be downloaded. I'm sure there are other ways to share large files. People are welcome to post what websites are best for sharing large files.

I'll make my decision some time between Tuesday and Saturday, depending how busy work gets. If work is very busy then we'll have results/winners by Saturday and will hand out rewards same day.

No videos accepted after (today) Monday. Need to post them before (tomorrow) Tuesday to qualify. Post them here in this thread for credit and deadline. The time zone is for PST (California) time midnight.

Do you mean you need the original Fraps files or the actual chopped and submitted video? There are methods to download youtube videos.

I have FTP space available if Hunter needs to download videos directly. I can rip videos from youtube and host on my web server for anyone who needs.

I'll have to watch all the videos again. Lot of good ones, and will be hard to choose just three for the Ultimate Charms. Might have to flip a coin on a few ties to narrow it down to 3 winners. There will be several criteria such as concept, quality, originality, effort, entertaining, and of course at least one of them for explaining what the Halloween Event was about.

Everyone else will get 2nd place, and will get a free max level 50 charm of their choice. There are 4 types of charms, Guardian, Brawler, Oracle, and Sorcer to choose from.

Will post results by Saturday at latest. Then all winners will need to make a way for me to download the video file to back up / save for future reference in showing off EZ Server in the future. The second place winners will also need to let me know which of the 4 types of charms they want maxed out.

I know people use sorcerers but I dont think ill have augs for a while, so should i go guardians or get the sorcerers for when i do get the augs?

I would still go with sorc charm as a lowbie warrior. Just imo, you will have anger augs soon enough. A UC or lvl 50 Sorc charm will make your procs insanity.

I didn't get much sleep those nights either, especially Sunday, i was up early and on all day and half the night. I'm glad you guys from RD enjoyed it so much :)

I'm really stuck now I was thinking guardian to get the benefit of 25k hps now, then I thought about sorcer as it seems silly to get guardians when I will be dumping it for a lvl 1 sorcer when I do get Augs. So I really don't know.

I have also started to wonder if it is possible to get it on another toon, what about oracle on my pally as 5x healing proc would be very cool.

I need help and advice guys! Don't wanna mess this up!

Like i said before, get the sorcerer charm. Paladin heals may be all golden and fluffy, but if your warrior's dps is lacking and can't aoe like a monster, then bleh.

Thanks Kushie, I take your point but I don't know how long it will be till I get the augs. I am only in plane of time now and have alot to do before I get to t1.

Does the sorcer effect work on other things such as the proc on my epic 1.0's? Or is it just for augs? Sorry for all the newbie questions, maybe I should have started a different thread

To give you a different point of view, as a warrior that is just breaking into T1 and getting anger augs, a guardian charm was and is much more useful to me for survivability.  You can always get a staff of fluxing power fromt he noobie vendor that gives the same effect as a low level sorcers charm to help with dps until you have enough gear to farm a higher level sorcer and drop the guardian charm.

level 50 charm takes forever to get. Get whatever charm you want, but as lerxst indicated, you will drop the guardian for a sorc eventually, and then its a wasted reward.

Unless you plan to get an ultimate charm, in which case it is just 25% of the requirement.

I would get the guardian if your just now in qvic. Sorc is the easiest drop to get imo. But the oracle on the pally would carry you a long way. Tough choice!

I don't play a warrior but I know that almost every warrior has a sorc first. Also there is a post around here  I read a few days ago about parses and in it were some warrior dps parses with and w/o sorc. It's like  night and day, the sorc just adds so much. I'd be willing to bet you'll be kicking yourself in the ass eventually if you go w/anything other than free level 50 sorc.

He will just win UC and then it won't matter. Make him the winner please.

I have not received mine yet. But that is because I have not picked one. Running the whole Guardian vs Sorcerer through my head a hundred times. When I think I find a winner I read something else on the forms that makes me wonder since I have no augs and just in PoT right now. And someone mentioned something about the new code only letting procs go off once per combat round sooo....

If you're playing a warrior go with sorcerer.

I play a warrior and was in the same situation as you as seen in the earlier posts.

I went for sorcerer charm and I am convinced it is the right choice, even tho i am still not getting the full benefit yet. I don't know about th changes to procs but I imagine even with just one per round you are still gonna be immense with a lvl 50 sorcer charm.

I was very tempted by the guardians as that would be a big benefit for me for where I am right now but I couldn't bare th thought of having to bank it and work a sorcer charm up to get better dps. I know it may come in handy one day for UC.

The sorcer will give you 5k hps which isn't bad but from what I hear and have read once I get my anger augs I will be doing some great damage which can be AE also so I think it's worth it in the long run.

The augs may seem a long way away to you now but I bet you will get them in a couple of weeks max. There is a 1hb that drops in Time which procs for 750 so keep an eye out for that and that may be an option until the augs.

So in a nutshell ..... Sorcer, sorcer, sorcer!
