Title: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Blackee on March 28, 2010, 06:40:39 am I in no way claim credit, or anything undue my status by just copying and pasting these guides over, but I thought to make us feel more at home over here, I'd copy the guides complete with pictures. I was just bored and figured it'd make the new place look better.
Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Epic 1.5 Collect 10 pages from bosses in PoTimeA (map below), and combine in the book recieved from either Terrorantula located in the middle of South Ro, or Quillmane located west of the Aviak Villiage in South Karana. *All bosses are tank and spank and should be doable with a group of Level 70s* (http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/4089/27837648.jpg) Hand in Complete 1.5 Book to Epic Vendor located in the Nexus to recieve your Epic 1.5. Epic 2.0 Collect 10 pages from bosses in LDoN levels 2-6 and combine in book recived from Master of Weaponry located in chambersb. *Bosses in LDoN are doable with a 1.5 epic and time/LDoN geared group.* *Master of Weaponry is doable with a 1.5 epic and time/LDoN geared group with the main tank and healer focusing on MoW, and the rest of the group killing the adds that spawn.* Hand in Complete 2.0 Book and your Epic 1.5 to Epic Vendor located in the Nexus to recieve your Epic 2.0. Epic 2.5 Find a complete book located in locked chests in the Hidden Banquet. (See Epic Vendor to port to) I find the easiest way to complete this, is to fill up 2 bags full of keys, then make it to the first safe room away from beholders and use all the keys on 1 chest till it has the book. Hand in Complete 2.5 Book and Epic 2.0 to Epic Vendor located in the Nexus to recieve your Epic 2.5. Note : You must be Fighter or Caster guilded to enter the Hidden Banquet zone. You can find the quests here: http://ezserver.online/index.php?topic=13.0 Epic 3.0 Collect 15 tokens from bosses in Qvic (map below), and hand into the Qvic vendor located in the Nexus to gain access to chambersa to fight Twinkle Toes who drops the completed book. *All bosses in Qvic are tank and spank that spawn 1 add every 10 or so % of HP. Doable with a 2.5 Epic with LDoN/Qvic geared group.* *Twinkle Toes hits very fast, so you will need a decent tank to kill her.* (http://ezserver.org/download/file.php?id=2) Hand in Complete 3.0 Book and Epic 2.5 to Epic Vendor located in the Nexus to recieve your Epic 3.0. Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: greenshag on July 27, 2010, 03:19:37 am Great guide. It's very helpful.
One thing I noticed though is that the OP mentions the map to potimea, but then there is no map; only one for qvic. I also haven't found any of these maps (except for ldon's) available for download into our maps folder. Does someone have a link for these maps and/or have the jpg/gif that they could repost here on this thread please? I remember seeing it before, but it seems to be missing now. Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: swamphy on July 27, 2010, 06:28:29 am **Edit** (a handy place to put this)
Flawless Blue Diamond - Chest Flawless Diamond - Legs Flawless Black Sapphire - Arms Flawless Jacinth - Head Flawless Ruby - Feet Flawless Sapphire - Hands Flawless Emerald - Wrist *Edit* Check your scroll wheel... both maps are in the original post. http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/4089/27837648.jpg and http://ezserver.org/download/file.php?id=2 And in case you're just having some odd server connect problem, I mirrored them on my webserver: http://www.swamphandy.com/EZ/PoTimea.jpg and http://www.swamphandy.com/EZ/qvicmap.png (http://www.swamphandy.com/EZ/PoTimea.jpg) (http://www.swamphandy.com/EZ/qvicmap.png) Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: greenshag on July 27, 2010, 11:48:36 pm Thanks for the repost.

Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: steelstorm on November 08, 2010, 10:36:38 am just curious.....do you have to do every epic to do the next or can you just jump straight to 3.0 if you have everything?
I know this is not the case with normal eq but the reason for me asking is because ez server does not necessarily follow all live eq rules. Thanks in advance Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Agilm on November 08, 2010, 10:57:12 am Cant skip because the 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 weapons are part of the turn-in.

Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: hexorcist on December 05, 2010, 03:08:38 am Regarding the Gem list requirements for Qvic armours.
The bracers require Flawless Flame Emeralds as opposed to a Flawless Emerald. I spent a few days going crazy in Qvic looking for Flawless Emerald until a kind soul informed me that the Flawless Flame emeralds are the quest gem. It was just gone midnight when I was informed of this and I did find it a classic " DOH ! " moment . :-[ Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: lerxst2112 on December 05, 2010, 04:03:03 am The guides are a good thing to have, especially the maps, but things do change on the server from time to time and if something doesn't make sense you should ask questions. In the case of the qvic gems, you can always hail the qvic quest NPC and he will tell you what gems are needed for each piece of armor. Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: hexorcist on December 05, 2010, 05:50:40 am Totally agree lerxst
Like I said it was a classic " DOH ! " moment. I have found this guide superb assistance and have had it tabbed open for the maps and list of gems , so big thanks to all posters. never ever thought of hailing the NPC for confirmation.....sometimes the simplest of things elude us ;) Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Balthor2 on December 17, 2010, 05:38:15 pm Bumping this. Lots of questions asked the last 2 weeks in ooc.
This is the guide people should be pointed to. Last forum it was posted here: http://www.ezserver.org/epics-epics-and-more-epics-t22.html Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: tholumar on December 25, 2010, 12:48:57 pm I'm stuck away from the computer for the holidays and right before I left I killed the Potimea mobs for pages 2,3,4,5. Eight Eyes for page 5 was red where as the rest were yellow, he wasn't really harder, just longer (For Ssss I was able to duo him with a war/pal .... I'm not sure I would have been able to beat the regen with that pair on Eight Eyes).
My question is, are the spawns ordered in order of hardness? Is the DS going to be a lot more difficult to kill than the rest? Thanks, Thol Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Fabdibikya on December 25, 2010, 02:59:51 pm Don't know if page numbers necessarily correspond with easiness, but dragon slave is a ton harder than the rest of the bosses. Hits for nearly 2k, and often, also has quite a lot of hitpoints.
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: tholumar on December 25, 2010, 03:13:32 pm Thanks for that info, I figured it had to be harder than some of the others. How much harder is Quil or Terro for the book than DS?
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Skorp on December 25, 2010, 06:02:42 pm I've been told by a friend that fought through PoTime the old fashioned way (no help from anyone at all from the beginning) and he told me Terrorantula/Quillimaine were easier for him to kill compared to DS.
He mains a war and bots a pally/druid/zerker/mage/monk. Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Lucadian on December 27, 2010, 01:44:21 am I think the hardest part about DS is his regen. Other than that, I don't think he hits too terribly much harder than any of the rest of the named.
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: gimpy on December 27, 2010, 01:48:26 am The bosses in the caves (Warlord, Eternal, etc) are harder than the bosses outside (Gemcutter, SSS, etc). Dragon Slave is the hardest in the zone because you have to have more DPS to beat his regen. I agree that for an appropriately geared group, DS is a bit harder than Quill / Terror
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: tholumar on December 27, 2010, 12:27:00 pm Thanks for the detail, I might have to get a couple other boxes leveled up before I can take DS. I'll get everyone geared up with Time gear in the mean time.

Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Dethundrel on April 29, 2011, 01:43:01 am Anyone else having bad luck with 2.5 page? Been in here for the last 2 days now. Over 300 Barrels down, out of those I've only gotten about 20 keys, and nothin on the book. I've done this 5 times before and all 5 of those put together have never taken me this amount of time put together. Am I just unlucky as hell, or is anyone else experiencing this?
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Slyminx on April 29, 2011, 02:52:10 am You are just unlucky. Sacrifice Xiggle and Gnaughty to the RNG gods and you'll have it first barrel, first chest.
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Reako66 on April 29, 2011, 02:52:57 am I just did 2.5 for my warrior in 30 barrels got 6 keys and got 2 books. That was on Tuesday.
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Xiggie | Stone on April 29, 2011, 10:11:57 am On the second time my brother did it he got a key on the first barrel and a book on the first chest. Another time I did it and was there approximately 18 hours spread over 3 days.
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Slyminx on April 29, 2011, 11:56:49 am My 2.5's went like this:
Bard - 2hours for 1st, 6.5 hours for 2nd Monk - half hour for first, 12 hours for 2nd Magician - 16 hours Cleric - 8 hours for first, haven't done 2nd one yet Necromancer - 2 hours Enchanter - First barrel key, first chest epic book, then re-roll back for two days and 7 hours for epic key again. Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: walk2k on April 29, 2011, 12:35:52 pm last one I did, 1st barrel - key, 1st chest = book
tied the world record! but, that was like my 9th one, others have taken anywhere from 20 minutes to 4 hours... can't imagine it takes more than 4-5 hours unless you are very very unlucky. problem is you fraidy cats who run to the 1st room with 4 barrels and camp there all day. you realize in the time it takes for those to respawn you could have ganked 15-20 more AND even if you get zapped by an eye you can zone back in in 30 seconds.. Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Dethundrel on April 29, 2011, 01:03:36 pm Sounds like I just have to keep grinding it out! thaks for the responses.
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Kenshou on April 29, 2011, 01:19:32 pm 12 toons 6 with 2 each and did the ranger 3 times, never more than an hour for any of them, some people just have bad luck i guess
Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Dethundrel on April 29, 2011, 02:51:42 pm 447 Barrels, 38 keys in total. But I finally got it!

I have read just about every guide on the forums and this brief explanation finally got me to understand what I need to do on 2.5. Many thanks! Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Chunka on May 19, 2012, 09:30:14 am Not so much an issue of being a fraidy cat as maximizing return on the effort. By camping the first room you can safely hit 12 or 13 barrels (one up the ramp toward z in, 2 if you stretch it, 4 in the room, one in the corner, 2 in the little room around the corner and 2 in the split hall past that....up to 13). By the time you finish all those, go back to the safe room to start again and the barrels are almost ready to repop....and minimal risk of being zapped out.
As to your 30 seconds to zone back in....ummm...no. Sure you can zone back relatively fast....but getting through the first room and hall with the roamer up the ramp takes one hell of a lot longer than 30 seconds unless you're a SK, necro or monk. I've done the 2.5....well, a lot. I've tried every method and the one that works fastest that I've seen is working to saferoom 1 in an instance then working the area in the method I listed above. Dont hoard keys, as you get them hand them in, whether to different chests or all the same chest makes zero difference. Keep in mind there are no "tricks". Contrary to what people tell you handing in bagfuls at a time to one chest, or working the very last room or the first room will not improve your chances for keys or book; its completely random. Good luck! Title: Re: Epics, Epics, and more Epics - By Spankrox Post by: Chunka on May 19, 2012, 09:37:06 am And figured it out....between helping family do theirs, doing my own and remaking lost epics I've done the 2.5 56 times. My warrior has had a total of 7 3.0's (lost a few to the ravenous birdbaths back when they were still around, and have multiples for various augs anyway). Many melee with 2 each, done 2 rangers with 3 each, etc. The longest it took me was 147 keys once to get a book. I kept track because I wanted to see whether or not someone's claim that saving up bagfuls and handing them in all to one chest was faster....obviously it was not. My best was on beastlord...2 barrels, 2 keys, 2 books, first room. Its ranged all over in between, but thankfully none near so long as that 147 mess.
