I was in Pod instance and all my toons got booted, other people still on?

Im still on in two of my toons, in pub sro. World server is down though.

Out of all the places, i got stuck in Ldon lvl 4.... /wrist

I'm still in game in a qvic instance

Anyone know when the server will be back up? Or is this a "wait till 3am reboot" day?

It's been going down every day, just usually not this early.  Normally it's down till reboot, but if that is the case today... that... sucks.

Does hunter not have direct control over the server so he can reboot it himself? Or whats the reason he wont reboot it.

Hunter is a busy man.

he can reboot it himself via internet connection when he see that its down, but takes a while to do or something so hes gotta have some time

Next reboot in what 15 mins ? or only rebotting once a day know?

I guess no one else can be trusted with the mundane task of rebooting a server. You've got to wait until 3am?

He may not be rebooting it because he is looking for the cause....

Are you kidding me? on a sunday, i seriously doubt Hunter is not aware the server is offline for 14hrs or w/e time it has left. Either way the issue needs to be checked, and I for one would love to see the downtime that the server has used to solve the LARGE WARP DETECTED, and eventual World Server Disconnect go away. I sure hope he reads these posts and is aware of the situation, because its been happening like Gnaughty and other have said since last monday, rather coincidental that it has occured every night since the halloween script was removed and w/e other script had to be put back in place.... Maybe worht look into. Again I know nothing about coding so i cant talk at all. But it is annoying to have a day off and want to log in and you cant, or log in and get shut down 2 hrs later every night.

And ill add why i even wrote this, iu got off on a rant. Because im worried hes not aware of it, because the only thing posted at all this last week was about contest winners for videos. I would have expected to see a post by now saying im aware of the situation and w/e else is needed to be said at that point. But a response hasnt been made. Maybe hes on a vacation actually living life :) and the server is just running amuck like a spoiled lil kid with its parents absent!!!

This worldserver stuff didn't start happening until the holiday script was over... There hasn't been a massive influx of people.. since then in one week..

So it is a good place to start..

Server lag / disconnect from LS is probably due to limited number of dynamics set up, which instances use up. I might change to 2 public instances per zone, or add more dynamics, which in turn takes up more ram and longer to boot up at 6am.

Will post more updates as we get them.

Edit: I still need to make a bunch of guilds, but for some reason it lags out the server during high population times, so I'll make them in the early AM when fewer people are online.

It is pretty tedious is it not? Hunter IS the only one that can reboot the server. Its just frustrating that for the past week or so, the server has been left down after crashing. I know THF comes back pretty fast IF they crash, so I don't get why this one feels void of any staff support. "

so how longs this shit been down lol just got done reading all this. Some posts I read say it was down since the reboot and this one says 3:15.. either and or 3:15 god I hope we don't have to wait until 6am reboot. Your servers getting bigger hunter think your gonna start needing some help bud =/.

Supra most of us who play here understand Hunter does this in his spare time. If you want a server with support staff etc find somewhere else to play.

I want to address Supra's comment about not reseting timely, Though I agree with how long it takes to get attention to these crashes, believe me i agree and hate it as well, WE have to remember the man that runs the server, or people involved in it.... have Real Lives as well. Some have families, some do stuff on weekends like...oh party or take trips. So it may not be his TOP priority, although sadly, it is some of ours, or at leat mine :)

And to agree even further with your comment Fugitive, because right now I feel you are right on with your responses. Halloween weekend EZserver actually saw over 700 online all day long both days, hasn't seen more then 450 since then, so it has nothing at all to due with people on.

And judging by the fact that you all say it went down over 2hrs ago, im guessing no one is around to check it today. so with that said ill go do RL stuff, look forward to it comming back if it does.

Fugitive, I jsut read that post you linked and the ocmment by Funkinmofo, its basically what i wanted to type but i ranted too long ASSphats is awesome and yes they cause 50% of the trouble cause they have NO LIFE at all in RL, and want everyone else to be upset in their dark little head.

Well at least my wife was glad the server was down.  I too am out of things to do around the house.  Now im watching "Man of the House" lol.  PLEASE come back up!

Yeah, i've gotten so much done today I'm starting to wonder if Hunter should take it down for 2 hours a day to save us from our selves and keep us productive IRL.

One more random thought : guilds cause lag.. at least (charitably speaking) 1/3 of the guilds on the server are long beyond even being marginally considered "inactive"..

Could Hunter wiping out a bunch of inactive guilds help out a little potentially? It's a no harm-no foul scenario: if a random guy comes back and goes "zomgz where is my l337 guild?" he's an email away from reforming anyways.

Just a thought. I know the heap of lag creating guilds generates on this server, maybe some of that lag retains.. Maybe purging some of the guilds might be the defragmantation this server needs? o_O

Wish the servers would come up also. but Ccarroll85 ... you never tell your wife the servers are down, then they know your only there hanging out because they are down. I ALWAYS just tell my wife, I wanted to spend some time with her, that way she doesnt know Im only there because the 2nd wife "EQ" is sleeping =)

My wife played EQ back in the day with me, when we were in Jr High School together, hope to get her to come back. This server seems like it would catch her interest since its not a grind to level. but she was always the type that wanted to play a Enchanter (for some odd reason?). From what I understand they are pretty much a useless class or atleast not a class someone plays as there main ... So if she does play again I hope she will be interested in something useful lol

Well this is the longest by far that I've seen the server down. Hunter must be doing something really cool we don't know about. Any ideas? 2 chicks at the same time maybe ;)?

So Rogean's Code Cave is up.  Maybe this means server may come up soon?  I know everytime the server goes down Rogean goes down...
