Title: DPS Pre/Post Patch
Post by: Camric on November 27, 2010, 02:42:07 pm
The point of this post is NOT to decide what the dps should be, but simply reveal the dps pre/post database update:

Warrior Epic 4.0 Aug IV in all slots + Ultimate Charm
No gear changes and buff bot used
Target is dummy in epic 2.0 zone:

Parse 1 - Pre Update

7 minute parse: 34,211 DPS

Parse 2 - Post Update

7 min parse: 23,492 DPS

Parse 3 - Post Update #2 12/1/2010

7 min parse: 24,551 DPS

The delta is a 31% decrease in DPS.

Forgot to mention that the parsing was done using GamParse v1.0.2

------------------------------- Update December 1, 21010 ----------------------------

After looking at the numbers from the latest patch there is a 4.4% increase in warrior dps when comparing to the first patch.  However, the overall dps is still lower by 26.6%.

I can attest to 30% nerf in DPS on warriors havent tested paladins yet.  Was thias mentioned somewhere that it was being done or is it an unintended bug that got screwed up with upate?

stuff like this happens almost every time the source gets updated.

i totally agree with you Camric. the decrease in dps is soo huge to melee classes/ ranger.

with my ranger i use to do 14k dps average but now average of 8k (i dont even bother playing the ranger).

but on the other hand, i have noticed that i do more crits with my SK (prolly the patch fixed the crits on spells).

Yeah my 4.0 ranger is sitting at 9k dps with the Secrets spell which is way lower than he used to hit for last week.

First thing I noticed after logging in today is that my paladins' heals went from 82k to 80.8k (4.0s with max oracle).

Then it was my ranger critting for 11.3k max when the average crit was around 14.8k a few days ago.

Any idea if this is intended or just a temporary side effect due to source code update?

Wow,  just returned from short vacation and eating fest.. and boy was I shocked.. when I logged in and seen some of the damage out puts from all my melee...

wow..
I'm stumped... don't even know what and where to begin..

or is this even worth bringing up or hashing out?

edit 1:

What are the Pros of the new source? What did we get out of it? What will it help in the future?

What are the Cons of the new source? What did the source effect classes / attacks / procs / endurance munching .

I know procs have been adjusted by what I found on the forums...
Any thing else being looked at?

well anyway back to these long engagements.. I guess..

I read this in the changes I'm sure that's why Adjustments where made on Hunter's end... was it enough?

==10/09/2010==
Trevius: Object model names can now use up to 32 characters.
Trevius: Zone short names can now use up to 32 characters.
Trevius: Added extra checks before AIYellForHelp call is made to prevent potential issues.
Secrets: Added Perl Client GetIP() and NPC GetMinDMG() commands.
KLS: Adjust procs: only check once per round now instead of once per hit, this will result in lower proc rates especially for dual wielding classes but this is how it should behave. Adjust your proc per minute rule up if you desire higher proc rates under this change.
KLS: Directional Cone Spells; still needs a little work as it isn't 100% accurate but it works enough that there's no point in me sitting on it.
