Title: 10 minute Thanksgiving pet Parse results Post by: Rostam on November 29, 2010, 01:12:32 am i decided to parse my pally with and without the thanksgiving pet buff.
i set it up in an instanced Mow's lair and did 2 parses on the practice dummy. paladin, 4.0 epic, 3 firestrike 4 augs to make sure that i had the thanksgiving pet buff on me for the full duration of the 10 minute fight i zoned in 6 of my guys and placed them outside the 100 meter range of the pet so they wouldn't even be targeted to get buff. every 2 or so minutes i'd go down to the pally and cast a pet and walk back up and out of range. results are in, you can see they are pretty detailed and self explanatory. for pure melee damage the pet is making no difference at all. for procs (spells) it's adding 25 damage (50 on a crit). Title: Re: 10 minute Thanksgiving pet Parse results Post by: lerxst2112 on November 29, 2010, 11:18:28 am Thinking about something Caryatis said where if the spell wasn't setup correctly to affect all skills it would only affect blunt damage I parsed with my monk using hand to hand as well as 1 hand blunt and saw no dramatic difference. The parses were a couple of minutes each way so I wouldn't say a 50-100 dps change was outside the realm of a few lucky hits or procs. When I parsed two 2h 3.0 pallies at the same time it felt like the one that had the buff more consistently lost a bit of dps. Killing the fg dummy my first pally was well ahead on damage and dps from the second, but with the pig out the first pally seemed to have the buff more consistently and was behind the other pally in damage. Ideally pally #1 would have won in both cases as she has maxxed AA and the second does not. I'm sure secrets is very eager to fix more problems for you lol. Anyway, I was correct about the problems with the spell. Dunno, havent seen him post here since things went south on his quest for Thanksgiving.
