Title: Client crashing Post by: Torique on March 28, 2010, 08:38:22 am I posted this late yesterday on the other forum but figured I should move it here.
I joined the FG, try to enter and crashed. Every time I tried to log in m,y client crashed. I used the new character mover to move my toon to Nexus but it still crashes every time I try to log in. My other characters on that account can log in perfectly fine. Any help would be appreciated, especially since this is my main character. Thank you. Character Name: Torique UPDATE: I've just installed EQ Titanium on a second PC with the exact same results. The 'Torique' character causes a client crash whereas all other toons are working. Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Torique on March 28, 2010, 08:04:27 pm Well, I've now uninstalled/re-installed (not that this should make a difference since I tried a fresh install on a different PC), downloaded fresh copies of the graphics files and spell file. Deleted all my character files, tried moving my character to nexus, then OOT, then Nexus with the move tool in Magelo (login screen reflects this), but I still get the same thing: "Everquest has detected that your client may have crashed" Then back to the desktop. I continue to be able to use other characters on the same account just not my main: Torique. As I said, this happened just after joining the Fighter's Guild and trying to zone in to the Imperial Bazaar. I see there's at least one other person in the same boat on the old boards. Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Hunter on March 28, 2010, 08:50:02 pm If you can log on another character, or onto another server, then your client is fine. Possible that the zone is bugged and needs reboot. Or maybe some of your character ini files etc are corrupt and need to be deleted. If your character is actually bugged on the server side, then we'd need to re-create your character I guess.
Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Torique on March 28, 2010, 09:20:10 pm As far as I can tell there's nothing wrong on the client side of things.
Re-Creating sounds a bit ominous :), but I don't think there's anything I can do from my side unfortunately. Thank you for the response. Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Chane Laforet on March 28, 2010, 10:55:25 pm Exact same thing happened to me, Hunter had to transfer all the data to a new char, which was basically a clone with a different name, and a few things missing, but better than starting over.
Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Torique on March 29, 2010, 08:23:28 am Ok, that doesn't sound so bad.
Hunter: What do I need to do to get this done? Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Hunter on March 29, 2010, 09:01:51 am You need to get ahold of me on the weekend and when I'm in a good mood lol. I work 6 nights a week, so I just check my emails real quick before and after work. Try to catch me in game some time and I might be able to do it earlier if I'm not sleeping.
Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Falcondive on March 31, 2010, 04:11:20 am The same thing happened to me yesterday.

and i have tried what Torique do. Could hunter help me to resolve this problem? my character name is Warogre. Thanks hunter. Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Hunter on April 08, 2010, 09:55:18 am You can email me about that, listed in /motd when you log in.
Title: Re: Client crashing Post by: Hunter on April 09, 2010, 07:42:37 am Found out the problem. People that completed the FG/CG tried to get a Guild Tag from the Quest NPC but they were already in a different guild, so now the player is in 2 guilds at the same time aka crash issue. If your toon is still crashing, let me know and I can remove you from CG/FG Guild Tags.
