Title: Batch File curiosity
Post by: trogdorr on March 16, 2011, 08:37:05 am
Anyone else use a batch file to start your multiple clients ect? I'd love to know how you guys function your junction with so many screens to open/control.

KVM = keyboard, video, mouse switch. Lets you switch computers on a single screen.

I just run multiples monitors from one pc, it makes it easy to get them all up at the same time.

I just load mine up 1-3 at a time. click my shortcut a few times, get them to char select, log them all in at same time, rinse, repeat til I have my desired amount of chars in game.

batch file would be pretty niffty, if you could get it to load up windows to log in screen with specific accounts already filled in.

Looks like all you need for a simple simple version is:
Code:
start /d "C:\Program Files\Sony\eqgame.exe"
start /d "C:\Program Files\Sony\eqgame.exe"
start /d "C:\Program Files\Sony\eqgame.exe"
start /d "C:\Program Files\Sony\eqgame.exe"
start /d "C:\Program Files\Sony\eqgame.exe"

The start portion tells it to open a seperate window for each program.
the /d tells it to do the start portion fo the command.
the quotation marks are needed because of the space in the path (the Program Files space).

This should open 5 seperate eq windows using the eqgame.exe
If you use WinEQ2.0 or something, you'd have to type in the path to that program exe. I will try it when i get home. As many of you know, i been out at some stupid post for 4 days now.

I may also put in a way to auto start MQ2 and such as well. Would be pretty great actually. Oh and remember to save that portion of code as a .bat file

Personally, i use that very basic method, single click gives me mq2- then a pause for 10 seconds  because you need it fully loaded before the clients, then 5 instances open.
Anyone doing anything technical want to share something?

lol I just double-click the icon 4-5 times or whatever I'm loading. never had any problems doing it as fast as I can... then I load taskmon and set the affinity, wish there was an automatic way to do that, it helps a little but even if I don't do it things run pretty smoothly with up to 5-6 clients (using i7 Core4).  this is all on the same pc, I just stack the windows, usually only need to see 2 at a time.

I use isboxer to start everything (I pay like 30 bucks yearly for it which also covers WinEQ2) I used to use it for Warcraft to run a group, I even ran 40 characters (Trial accounts) at once trying to push my new computer and ISboxer worked awesome.  EQ Set up wizard for X accounts on X screens, export to Innerspace, load MQ2, WinEQ2, activate profile in innerspace and have a nap while everything opens on all screens for you. It saves all the account names for each character it loads for you plus if one crashes you just reselect the profile in Innerspace and it relaunches any missing windows.
I run 12 characters on 2 screens atm 38`, 21` I have 2 more monitors waiting for my other video card to get back from Asus, it died.
