Title: Shamans in the party? Post by: Whinky on October 25, 2011, 10:29:52 am Are they worth it? I know they have that dps buff but is it worth it to just replace the buff with a straight DPS class or is the buff that good? I know they have their epic too but you can just MGB that.
Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Brokyn on October 25, 2011, 10:55:19 am You don't even have to MGB, you can TGB it... I run the shaman as the 7th man... full DPS group and shaman runs around and buffs the group
Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Kwai on October 25, 2011, 10:58:54 am The best answer I think... it's a personal choice.
If you don't have Halloween pets for buffs on your melee you might want the shaman or a cleric or a druid/mage/Enc. I didn't bother dragging the Shaman along until I hit T3/4. If you do have the advantage of field buffs from pets then the Shaman simply becomes a filler and provides less DPS than say a Mage or Nec. Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Thebone on October 25, 2011, 11:15:50 am I believe Xiggie parsed the shaman gving Krackin to dps classes. His findings were that it adds 20k dps to each class.
So with that math if you have a shaman tailing the group he is at 60k dps. Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Ogah on October 25, 2011, 11:57:41 am Do the 70th level spell vendors provide Krackin or do you have to camp for it?
I think an additional 20k DPS per melee is absolutely incredible but if you have to camp for the spell, is that additional time leveling the shaman plus hunting for the spell worth more than simply leveling up a BST/MAGE/NEC? In my mind, its not worth that time to have to camp, but levelling to 70 is very very EZ :) Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Brokyn on October 25, 2011, 12:18:27 pm The Kraken spell is a drop in T3/4 and is sold quite regularly. It is also available from a vendor for 1 Million plat.
Also, if my math is correct... 6 X 20 = 120k dps. Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Fugitive on October 25, 2011, 12:20:35 pm Well bone never really made is beyond grade 2

Sorry i was trying to finish that post as my bosses was talking to me... Title: Re: Shamans in the party? Post by: Xiggie | Stone on October 25, 2011, 07:16:49 pm I did call it at 20k but looking over my parse info to get a more accurate number I was just a little bit off. My monk parses at about 77k on the practice dummy. With kraken I parse at about 94k. That is a 17k dps bump. Granted that is on a monk who has the highest potential for the highest amount of procs. Me, I can see a big difference in dps in T5 and it will scale up as you do. The higher your charm and the lower your delay the more dps. I run mine on the outside of my group and really like the significant bump in dps I get from it.
