Title: Ldon plat
Post by: Nocca on February 15, 2012, 06:06:30 pm
Hello everyone this is  Nocca with my first post concerning platinum/change
in the Ldon all level loot table, I'd like to suggest that Hunter remove plat gold silver copper from the ldon loot table as it doesn't accumulate to much of anything but what it does is slow looting as I've noticed many mobs in Ldon are empty with only money
and with that removed they would simply vanish so one wouldn't have to waste so much time looting nothing hence making charm farming
slightly easier on the community. I'm sure you've probly noticed that looting has become increasingly more sluggish on EZ.. Agree? Disagree? Lets let hunter know about this.  Thanks

I'd be down for that change. Doesn't drop enough to justify keeping it and lagging everyone up, in my opinion.

I support this idea. Would definitely speed things up.

Agreed on cash, but i would go even further and remove gems as well

I was gonna mention this as well, but it is a nice drop after long periods of time in LDoN.

Considering you can loot several hundred thousand plat while doing your ldon charms I would say leave the gems in. That plat comes in very very handy.

Indeed, after about 15 hours in LDON, you can afford one out of two ores for an aug upgrade! lol

Considering people don't generally farm Ldon for money and that it would seem
to be better in your interest to farm charms slightly more easily since that is what
we mostly grind in ldon besides page runs of course which are not likely to get your bags full of plat anyway? I wouldn't suggest removing anything other then money
as I have made some descent money from gems to persist my instance purchases
altho that may go toward countering the point I started to make in this reply
I'm willing to take the chance..I have been grinding out my paladin's charms here
for the passed week or so and the actual plat as opposed to the plat from gem collections has been quite miniscule..

I'd say keep the gems on the mobs but take off the platinum.

The gems are nice if you spend a lot of time in LDoN.. Can make a few hundred thousand plat off of gems doing your v1s.

Exactly my point. While farming out your ldon part of the UC you can get enough plat to pay for a lot of your ores for augs.

To further help this, Maybe get rid of the cheaper gems like Black Pearls and up them to diamonds/blue diamonds, but make them rarer overall.

Change stone of descent to a blue diamond while we're at it, and just make the gatekeeper ask for a blue diamond.

Having starting this farm over the last month I tend to agree on keeping the gems. Changing the stones of decent into stackable and not lore would be an easier change imo. I have /lootnodrop never set along with shift click looting and of course /hidecorpse looted to help speed it up, which does help even with the lag that is there currently. The big problem comes when stones come up along with any other no drop item. It will pop up an error and you have to find and manually click the lootable item off the corpse again.

I'm afraid that would lead to afk automated looting ichi
Btw this post is about the removal of money from ldon loot table and
I fear any other points such as changing lore items or asking to remove lesser valuable
gems or asking to add more blue diamonds to the loot table will just bring us further
from this particular discussion as Hunter is just not going to do those things..
Btw 6 people either didn't read the posts before voting or are confused in some manor
assuredly?

I agree that the money should be taken off and really would go further and say take off pp from any mob that is custom content past Plane of Time.

Title: Re: Ldon plat

I dont know how changing that would create automated looting bots. I was just trying to come up with another way to speed up the looting. I know removing the plat from the otherwise empty mobs would speed up looting, but when I can make a couple thousand plat in looting alone and I am just starting buying augs, I need all I can get /shrug. Id change my answer if the gem drop was increased slightly, or maybe remove the lesser gems and make only the higher gems drop.

+1 to all plat being removed for all content past potimea. Money is in the drops anyways, the plat just slows things down and gums up the place with corpses etc.

Title: Re: Ldon plat
Post by: Griz on February 17, 2012, 02:06:00 am
Hey, HoH avatars drop like 30-100 plat per!

Title: Re: Ldon plat
Post by: Natedog on February 17, 2012, 03:40:13 am
HoH is the only zone with a decent amount of plat dropped per kill. Even in T5 / T6 the mobs drops like 6gold or 1 plat.. which is fairly laughable. I waste a lot of time going back to check a corpse i forgot to loot.. and it only has 6 silver.. makes me wanna rage! lol

Title: Re: Ldon plat
Post by: Koda on February 17, 2012, 12:15:56 pm
So if the average plat dropped per kill is less than 50 plat, remove the plat drops altogether. HoH plat drops are fine because every mob drops something worth looting anyways. However, places like PoTime and LDoN are rather annoying because of the useless plat drops on otherwise empty corpses.

Well despite the polls and all these good points unfortunately there is Still plat in ldon
so I guess Hunter didn't care for the idea.. Thanks for trying everyone!

Well if I could change my vote I would. I made less then 1k in over an hour in ldon5 (took a break from 4 for a bit). Cash is nice, but I know one pull in velks, or a full group quest complete in bastion will more then make up for the loss of cash.

This would help new and old players. The drop rate would remain the same yet the 10 mins of looting would be gone. I can't see a flaw to this! Obviously I'm for it!

Hi guys,

I have a remark about looting in Ldon.

I noticed that some player are rushing trough Ldon-zones and killing mobs as a speedtrain without looting hem.  Is this because they have some knowledge about what a mob will drop before killing it ?  How do they do that ?  Of course it would take less time to loot only the killed mobs which are worth looting.
Can someone tell me what TOOL of SOFTWARE is used here ?   And of course, if it's leagal in this server because the last thing I want is to be banned  ;D

If people are not looting, it's because they don't need the items...  There is no software that is legal that tells you what items a mob has before you kill it.

Good Idea Nocca... Looting is a real pain.. I'm not up to zone clearing kill and loot, but see your point

There is no software at all that can tell you what a mob has before you kill it with the exception of visible weapons, sometimes.

One of the popular misconceptions was that showeq could tell you this, but it never could.  Even with weapons, it depends on the mob model being used since some could show a weapon even when they wouldn't drop that weapon when killed.

Yeah, other than killing mobs...there is no certain way to pre-determine mob drops.

I do hope Vox drops my staff though...

Like I said, with some mobs you could tell they would drop a weapon.  As an example you could see if a jugg had a croaking dirk, or which mobs had primal/prismatic weapons in sleepers, but you couldn't tell if Vox was going to drop Ice Comet or if the Spore King had a tunic.

I don't ever remember seeing a non-humanoid mob holding a weapon like that on live, but it is quite common on the emu.  It's possible the implementation of how mobs equip items in their loot table is different between the two.  Sony also changed their packet structure to hide a substantial amount of information that you could see when ShowEQ was new, like mob hit points.

For the record, I was not talking about weapon-looting, but only gems and charm.

Hunter - Please don't pass up this thread - this is a great idea and consensus is that it will not trivialize UC, but will improve the quality of the EZ experience.
