There are several ways to handle timing on the PC and some of them, most likely including the way EQ does it, don't react well to a variable clock speed. If you have an option in your BIOS to turn that off you might try it, or some manufacturers offer a power utility that can be set to max performance that might help. You could also check the power settings in the control panel to make sure Windows isn't slowing it down. Even if you manage to turn it off you might still have issues if the laptop is overheating. Thermal protection usually isn't something you can turn off and it will give you the same symptoms. After nearly an hour, his problems stemmed from three things. 1) Direct copy from another machine. Doing this, it had his settings a little goofy. Running OptionsEditor and correctly settings for his laptop helped. 2) Closing WinEQ2 (as Underfoot does pretty much all of the same things minus window selector keybind). 3) MQ2 had mq2fps loaded. Unloading that proved helpful. After all of these, he was up and running. -Hate Title: Re: Need some assistance Post by: Tananthalas on April 05, 2012, 01:43:21 am Hate will unloading mq2fps be helpful on SoD as well or just Underfoot and higher?

Any client. mq2fps does not really have a purpose in the emulated environments. Drop it like an aggro'ed orc pawn. -Hate Title: Re: Need some assistance Post by: Fliker on April 05, 2012, 11:16:37 am Title: Re: Need some assistance Post by: Tananthalas on April 05, 2012, 12:11:13 pm It was a nice pun.
