I have a trivia bot that I wrote up today working.

Just type "trivia" in say and the menu will come up.

You need to turn on the trivia to see the questions.

Let me know if its working, broken, or if you like it.

I'm still polishing it, but would like to test it out with everyone to make sure its working.

Eventually players can gain FREE EZ Credits by having top score at the end of the month.

This will give you something to do too besides /gems while waiting for a spawn.

Enjoy!

If anyone can find or submit a database of questions relating to video games or even specifically EQ then that would be great too.

It can be any format, such as excel, or text.

If spreadsheet like excel then just put question in one column and answers in the next column.

If using text then you can have 1 line per Q&A with the question and answer seperated by a * character since lots of questions usually have commas and quotation marks in them.

Really, any format should work though. I can convert them, then import into my custom Q&A table.

Keep me posted, how to improve and such.

I realize sometimes the correct answer isn't showing after the timer is up. Could just be a timer issue. Will try to play with that. Its really minor though.

...what

this is amazing, haha. I had coded something built into another game that was exactly like this.

Now use the Cleverbot API ingame through perl + http and i'll be impressed!

http://cleverbot.com/

It'll respond to the text you input. I had a friend put this via some API in a game with many foreign players. They would send him a tell, and he would reply with Cleverbot's response.

This would go on for about 30 minutes before he felt sorry for the person and turned it off.

How do you prevent people from googling answers to questions?

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out.

Trivia 'should' now show you the correct answer after every round.

Haven't had a chance to polish the menu anymore yet. Just let me know what you'd like to see in the Trivia Menu.

We had a good test run with a 64,000 Q&A sample. Now I combined all the random trivia I have together.

Spent the whole day formatting that entire Q&A pool to have a cleaner and similar format

Attempted to remove duplicate records where the question and the answer were the same.

I haven't had a chance to format or add any Video Game or Jeopardy Q&A's yet.

I'd love to find a way of getting all their Q&A's in any text format such as excel, text, sql, or anything.

Hints are updated

Hint 1 will always show at least 1 character every time now.

Hint 2 and 3 will not show the first letter every time now.

Seems to be a lot better after completely re-writing the hint function.

Either way, don't you think people will use Google? Even if they don't use any other scripts.

You'd have to be pretty dedicated to work fast enough to cheat that way.

I think someone was doing this yesterday or two days ago with the answer script. I would answer some but whatever I didn't answer was always answered by Bubbin, or something like that. I don't have fraps so I didn't get video but the guy was in the low 300's and when I came back 5 hours laters he was in the mid 700's. I've been competing with Marxist and even he misses some.

I'm close to giving up. Too much time spent on a trivia bot and there are tons of wrong answers and misspellings that get rather frustrating.

At least it gives out hints.

A good trivia database with 100,000's questions is hard to find, and formatting / correcting the current one I found is too much time consuming.

Need a Trivia Q&A database!

Would love to get a copy of TV show Jeopardy's 200,000's Q&As.

if you get a chance maybe you can fix a lot of the questions that are misspelled answers and questions?...like when did so and so retire answer was Georgia (how is that a when?)

If you are feeling ok with it, email me the list and give me time. I'll correct lots of it. I would rather be playing the game than competing for a high score, so I'm not going to be using these answers. :-P

Lemme know.

Having played the trivia game for a few days now, I like it more and more, though it has admittedly slowed my time through anguish. :/ This is the first time my wife has shown any interest whatsoever in 'playing' EQ. Thanks, Hunter!

I can't access trivia any more and wasn't sure if this was just removed. I'm only wondering because I was second place. :)

I've noticed lot of lag came after adding trivia bot.

I'm going to disable it for a bit after reboot and see if that makes any difference since it uses DBI every few seconds.
