Title: Warriors and aggro management Post by: Brokyn on January 29, 2013, 07:28:11 am Hi Hunter,
I just wanted to start some discussion here regarding Warriors and their augs. I think you've done a great job in balancing warriors to be the best tanks in game, and with changes to stonewall recently, I think the class is balanced pretty well against the game content too. The keys to a great warrior are staying alive, and managing aggro. Keeping the extra mobs off the squishy casters is what Warriors should do best. If you check with the 7.0 warriors of the server, I think you will find that pretty much every one of them is still using a 6.0 epic. The reason for that is that the anger augs are key to aggro management for Warriors. Without them, adds pounce on the casters and healers too fast. I would like to ask that you add a new 7.0 weapon aug, or maybe a proc to the epic weapon that does AE anger. I don't think it even has to have a damage component as warriors are not all about dps, but about keeping the group or raid alive. IE increase it from 0 to like 75. Title: Re: Warriors and aggro management Post by: Fugitive on January 30, 2013, 09:12:25 am +1
What can we do about this Hunter? No reason to use the 7.0 weapon without any way of aggro management? Just wondering Title: Re: Warriors and aggro management Post by: hateborne on January 30, 2013, 09:35:42 am Anyone able to post 7.0 SS and/or item id?

Just wondering I use duel 7.0 on warrior with is9's. Not saying I wouldnt like to see new anger aug for T7. In fact warrior is the only class atm that would benefit from the custom T7 weapon. Can turn in your 7.0 for its aug version, slap it in any of those weapons and push a brand new anger aug into the other open slot. Discuss! Title: Re: Warriors and aggro management Post by: hateborne on January 30, 2013, 05:44:53 pm Am I missing something or is Cyclone Blade useless?
It lists Skill Attack (50). Skill 50 ( http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=SkillList ) lists as Swimming. Is there some obvious oversight that I am missing here? In terms of the effect, would it not be easier to simply replace the Cyclone Blade effect on the 7.0 with an Anger trigger effect? In example: Anger IV with ~40-60% proc rate? Upside: This eliminates the need to aug-dance. Downside: All warriors with 7.0s CANNOT turn off threat gen. Thoughts? -Hate Title: Re: Warriors and aggro management Post by: lerxst2112 on January 30, 2013, 05:55:50 pm Cyclone Blade is supposed to be a 1 hand slashing attack for 50 damage with a 10,000% accuracy mod. It should be using SE_SkillAttack (193) for the effect value. Thoughts? -Hate I would rather not have it changed to anger for 2 reasons, (1) 7.0 1hs click is worthless generally since we roll with 2hs def up. Thus we don't actually use the click and can make the weapon into a aug and stick it into the T7 custom weapon. (2) there are times we want to MT with a knight or I don't know, a cleric. Now if its [cyclone blade] the wrong effect then we should adjust that to what Lerxst said it should be. Title: Re: Warriors and aggro management Post by: Brokyn on January 31, 2013, 09:11:08 am Hunter said, in game a few minutes ago, that he would make Anger augs fit in slot 22 as well as the ones they fit in now. That will help :)
