Title: Simple Warrior Idea
Post by: Khaoticz on February 25, 2013, 09:06:09 am
Not very important and wouldn't hurt anything...

Instead of switching warrior's 1h's to 2h just to cast SW effect, why not make it clickable from inventory. Saves time on switching it and hurts nothing.

You mean bandolier? If so dont use it. It may not eat your weapons today, or tomorrow, but eventually it probably will....and Hunter has stated more than once that he wont restore items lost to bandolier. If you mean some type of mq2 plugin, which one? I dont know of one that works reliably without accessing bandolier.

And to the people who will reply to this, "I use it all the time and never had a problem", I recommend thanking your luck and ceasing use of the feature.....unless something has changed recently the bandolier feature is VERY iffy in  all of the emu. And unless a dev replies to this that its fixed and OK to use now, I recommend people do NOT listen to these people and try using bandolier. Again, it may work for you and it may not....but why risk having to redo epics from scratch.

honestly your best bet would be to email hunter about small requests like this. Ive always had better luck e-mailing little requests to him rather then making a post here and every request i have made so far via e-mail he has agreed to, including the change that i asked him for yesterday.. i e-mailed hunter asking if we could have the cleric 4.0 usable from inventory for the same reasons you want the warrior epic inventory usable, replied this morning with "I just made an edit, hopefully it works after reboot."

Exchange doesn't use bandolier, you could
/unequip mainhand
/unequip offhand
/exchange ###### mainhand
/itemnotify mainhand rightmouseup
/exchange ###### mainhand
/exchange ###### offhand

Change the number for the corresponding item ID for two hand epic.
You May just need to split it into two macros, one for switching to 2h and the other for switch to dual wield.

bandolier eats weapons and no refunds.

Exchange can be just as bad as bandolier.
Most people do not have a issue with it but its not worth it.

Exchange isnt a valid EQ command for me. If its something thats from an MQ2 type program it most probably uses bandolier as its base. Have more info on it? Regardless I doubt I'd use it. Not worth the risk.

I don't remember whre I got it but I believe it is in the new compile for the free download on mqemulator for UF client. I'm 99 % sure, cuz the only other place I got anything mq2 related was hateborns site. You could look it up or PM me and I will email it to you in a zip file. I know it doesn't use bandolier because bandolier is for weapons and exchange technically mouse clicks any object ID you give it and places it wherever you put it. I've never had a problem with it but like it has been stated, I may just be lucky.

There have been changes to the emu code to try and make bandolier as bulletproof as possible, but there is always the risk that it isn't.  Since it already has a bad reputation, and loss of items is possible, it's not particularly easy to get people to test it.  Besides, would you trust the guy that says "oh yeah, it works great" with your items?

It works great, go test it with your UW a few hundred times and let me know how it works for you!

This may be a simple request , yes. But over the years this request has been brought up numerous times and has never been implemented, that's my only reason for starting in the forums and seeing what others opinions are on it before having my email sitting in hunters inbox along with maybe 200 others...Honestly takes 10 seconds to switch and cast, doesn't effect my progression if it's not fixed, more of a good utility if it does.

he changed the bard 3.0 & cleric 1.0/4.0 all for the same reasons when i asked him in email, only reason i didnt ask about the warrior epic is because i used bandolier religiously to cast the SW buff, now not so much...

plz plz hunter! im super paranoid to use bandolier now :(

Ok I know this may sound like a dumb question, but how do you know when the stonewall is working? Ive clicked my epic 2hd and I don't have a spell or anything in my buffs window. I just assumed it to be working, but can you actually see where the effects are?

5.0 and down its a disc in your discipline window. 6.0 shows up in the song window

I use mq2bandolier on my warrior and other toons to buff with my weapon clicks and the powersource buffs. It's pretty simple once you grasp the concept of it, and over a year of using it, i have never lost a weapon from it, since it isn't using the games bandolier to exchange the items.

I told Hunter about this 3 or 4 months ago, and he told me to make a post about it, but i never got around to it with all the RL stuff i had going on. Here is the wiki describing how to use the commands.

http://www.mmobugs.com/wiki/index.php/MQ2Bandolier

You need:

MQ2Bandolier and MQ2Exchange

I can simplify it for you. Say you want to equip your warriors 6.0 and get the stonewall off if it. It can be done with one hotkey click. First you need to create the equipment set. Log into the character you want it on and manually equip your epic. Then type in the following...

Code:
/createset stonewall 13

Pretty simple eh?

Your main hand slot is 13
Offhand is 14
Powersource is 21 iirc
I could dig up my list if anyone needs it, just let me know.

Now just make a hotkey with the following...

Code:
/equipset stonewall
/cast item "kreljnok's sword of defense epic 6.0"

You can create any equipment variations you want, i have 6 different ones to equip my freewaypoint, fastest travel, free rez, cure, shrink and coh.

If you have any questions just feel free to ask.

Description

MQ2Bandolier allows you to save item sets to an INI file and easily exchange between different sets of items with MQ2Exchange including weapons and also any other inventory slot.

That comes straight from mmobugs wiki. Not sure who is telling you that it uses the ingame bandolier, but they are wrong.

I can't find the message anymore but I got it from the admins of mmobugs who got their information from the maker of the plugin himself.
