Ok, so essence drop rate in Tacvi is less than 1%, on just 8 mobs in the zone with an hour long respawn....which means you either spam the hell out of instances for a few weeks or do them one or two at a time for a few months. Do CT mobs drop the instances still? And if so how much worse is the drop rate? Just wondered what "very rare" meant :P

You can do 8 bosses in a row with no trash, so its calculated per zone clear, not per boss, and even so is not 1%, much higher.

I destroyed cazicthule for 2 hours, small time frame I know, no essences and only saw 2 pieces of the new armor Hunter added to the zone. Ok rate on tacvi armor molds.
I would not want to have to farm CT for armor before being able to make T1 is the impression I got from the time I was in there.

The armor patterns drop from specific mobs in CT, I thought.

I understand that Hunter....but when I'm on 42 clears and 3 essences today, and 61 clears and 5 yesterday....then lets look at it that way. 103 clears, 9 essences. Thats 10 to 11 clears per essence. Or am I just running into amazingly bad run of RNG?

The new armor drops off bosses in CT, the tacvi armor drops off trash mobs.

You do realize that 1 in 10 is 10% not 1%, right?

Sorry, should have said "CT armor patterns".

And 103 clears for 8 essences, sorry. Around 13 clears per essence. Any way you look at it, either RNG hates me or the drop rate sucks. Since the Tacvi change the best drop rate I have seen over time is 44 clears and 5 essences. Is this what others are seeing, or does RNG here hate me?

Sorry, but counting per boss, not per clear. Thats the only way that makes sense to me, since I am looting 8 corpses, not 1.

And maybe I misunderstood, but I thought I'd seen Hunter post here before that 1 in 6 clears was about right. I'd LOVE to see 1 in 6.

Well.. 1/10 clears is a 10% drop rate and at 1 minute to clear.. Lets call it 2 minutes to clear and zone to a new instance.. 20 minutes per essence. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me :) takes 10-20 minutes for a gods ess too not including farming the tokens. The only downside is the lack of ability for newbies to get Tacvi ess for augs but they aren't even necessary until T5 and at full T4 they can go farm augs at the 2 minutes per clear so, Also not an issue. I didn't even have a single Aug until my first group had their 4.0s  so i know its not a necessity for newbies to worry about.

How do you arrive at 1 essence per 20m? Wondering what your math is for that.

Been averaging 4 every 3 hours of actual kill time....non stop instances. Takes me under 30 seconds to solo kill them all in one pull. Looting takes longer than killing :P From what people are saying it seems as if I am having just a very bad run of RNG in Tacvi....so I'll quit my bitching and just keep killing :D

RNG is what I think it is and a low chance.
Right now over the past 10 hours I am sitting at 0.0063% drop rate.
10 hours, 6 sets of 3 instances per hour at 8 bosses per instance and 9 essences dropped.

Excuse me if the math is off I am tired.
I am talking to a buddy and he is getting a more reasonable 2% or there about but still its sad.

Almost done so at least I can think about beating my face on T1/T2 and armor some alts to break up the grind a little.

This post is not intended to agree or disagree with drop rate as I think the RNG is just deep porking me today. It happens from time to time, maybe I refused it access to my candy van.

My average in Tacvi anymore is about 10 a day max if I spam instances all day as soon as the timer is up.

I re-checked what the drop rates were, and combined all bosses together total was 11% drop rate per Tacvi Clear.

Its now updated to 29% per clear, effective after reboot.

Thanks for the increase.  Would you mind thinking about the abyss drop rate a little bit?  My last couple of full clears have gotten 1 essence each.  That is with 30+ boss kills and 400 trash mobs.  At 4 hours per clear that makes Abyss a pretty large bottleneck for essences.

Already been updated for this reboot as well.
