Is the login server down?  Cant log in or got to eqemu website.

Yes. There is emergency maintenance going on at this time. Services will be effected for a few hours.

I can't get in either, glad its not me. I thought it was the slow internet here in Philippines, which can come to a crawl during bad weather.

Another hard drive went bad on the server that host the login server, p99, etc., so it'll be down a bit, maybe til tomorrow.

Why there are a few alternate login servers out there. Though I have not checked recently on which are still active.

I'm not too sure on the details but yesterday I read on project1999.org, which isn't working right now, that the reason why p99s server got messed up is because there was this techy playing on there who was cheating and got caught and banned. I think it was because he was messing with files and creating items for himself. I could be wrong. Instead of being mature and accepting the consequences he started attacking the server with a DDoS. The server started having a high amount of lag after he was banned and the lag was causing a lot of people to get killed. Which really really sucks from how eq was back then. So now we have to put our eq addictions aside and suffer through it all because of one pathetic loser.

all i wanna know is how long will take the Login server to be online!

Yup, login server list is working, but P99 still seems to be down currently.

Hunter is there anyway possible EZ Server could get its own private login server? I am not exactly sure of the details on it but it is something that would be excellent in these cases of when p99 messes up.

ps: what sort of infrastructure would we need to setup private label logins?
a webfacing portal, a mysqp/mssql backend, server, processing power, so maybe an amazon vm, some page coding, and a way to port the logins over?

I really do not think that there is that much problems or down time that we would want to leave the EMEQ community ... not to mention the key factor of attracting new players to the sever and tech support.

Servers can connect to more than one login server.  As an example peq has their login server and they also connect to the main login server.

yeah you can have more than one login server, like The Hidden Forest uses the eqemu login, as well as their own private login server. Even have it set up to where you could make more accounts just for their login server so you dont have to go through the pesky business of making a new email adress, new eqemu account, for every three login accounts you want.

I'm setup on 3 login servers so I can always test ideas and develop crap when the mood strikes me.
