Title: Stuff To Do
Post by: Hunter on September 20, 2013, 07:08:46 am
Tomorrow might lose power for the whole day so I won't be able to log in or read emails for a day.

I've already gotten my Tier 10 Tank in World of Tanks with aprox 2k battles played, which is pretty fast, other WoT players were surprised. Used premium account and then the gold to convert exp between tanks to do it. Time to take a small break form it and get back to EZ updates soon here.

After that I'm planning to start work on a new Tier 9.

A few things first.

Need to finish up T8. Someone requested a Port Ring for ToV so will make one of those.

Will look into Cara (and other npcs) equipping a dagger. Probably default loot table, should be simple edit in the db.

Need to rename the T5 vendor for consistency for all the clone/test npcs in cshome, easier updating, editing, etc.

I have both note book and computer text file with things to-do on EZ which easily is more than 100 things. Just need to prioritize them, so those are some of the top things on the list.

Also need to talk to Hate about installing some ToFS quest for FBv3 pet weapon.

Planning to make for T8 some new ranks for Strike Augs, Shield, Mana Necklace, UW, etc. While making those I'll make additional ranks as well during my copy/paste spree for Tier 9.

T9 will probably be a T5 style boss spawn (hopefully with a bit more complicated hard to figure out triggers /egrin) in some big open zones similar to Loping Plains, maybe oldcommons or oldfieldofbone which if anyone has seen those zones they are really cool. I know some people begging for Kael and other old school zones, but we just did ToV.

Haven't heard ANY feed back on Anguish Mata Muram update, so I'm guessing its working as intended.

Heard Spirit of the Ninja is conflicting with another spell and I have no idea why, hopefully someone can help with that. Someone asked for this item to be on EZ Rewards NPC which I haven't decided yet. It is kind of a special item. Might make a special long quest to obtain it. Its just one rank too, so just 1 long quest would be nice.

I'm possibly considering revamping UW again to make it "possible" for lower tier players to make the final combine without requiring the ToFS essence. Might do either Resist Stone XI - XIX and/or make new ToFS essences per floor, as a RARE drop off bosses only, so rare that might still need to buy off another player. Or just make up whole new super bosses per floor with essence, with special trigger to spawn it, etc.

Not sure if I'll finish Tier 9 before Halloween comes up, but a few days before Halloween will have to put everything on hold to review the code we already have, and add some more stuff to the event for us. I know I troll about nerfs sometimes which phreaks out players. Haven't decided how will drop Sceptres, maybe just a bit more rare, or maybe lower ranks of it, etc. The BU (Black Unicorn) Weapons that dropped last year will have their stats increased by a LOT for the duration of Halloween. These weapons will always have their stats boosted during this event.

I'm just one person creating stuff for this server, but also appreciate the help from players like Hateborne for spells, and a few other players for perl quest codes, etc.

If I'm missing any important bug fixes or updates, then let me know and I'll check my list.

Took some excedrine an hour ago (it has caffine) so its probably the caffine talking in this post, but yeah this is what's on my mind, and about to start work on EZ again. I've got test server updated to the new source code as well so I can work on things locally without having to reboot the EZ Server additional times each day to test new items/spells, etc.

I read all the new emails in my inbox (eventually) but still try to keep feed back and ideas on the forums here instead, unless major exploit that needs asap fix. I read about 98% of the stuff on forums here so if seems like good idea I'll write it down.

Any ideas and feed back welcome. Leaderboards seem to be going nicely. New instance code and repop code seem to be working nicely. I haven't seen any mass zone crashes since I've updated the database to load up more dynamic zones, so hopefully that was the issue. Hardware still healthy, HDDs mirrored, and about 98% life left on SSD. Current version of windows allowing 32 of the 48 GB RAM to be used, and so far no reason to upgrade the license to use all 48.

Guess the post is getting long, huh? Ok, will check in again towards end of weekend and start work on stuff.

Oh, and thinking of boss triggers, anyone figure out the Ancient Dragon spawn trigger yet? I learned not to underestimate players, so maybe someone figured it out by now?

think someone did as i keep seeing it trigger last night but if they have  they are not shareing it...ik i've only got it to spawn twice and thats with clearing the whole zone mulitable times...which btw silver dragons have a very quick respawn timer lol

Yes please, T9 in Field of Scale (aka old field of bone).

Big outdoor zone, tons of named and different NPC models, old friends when they were young, just all around awesome.

I think the ability to get a ToFS essence for sub UW6 folks would be a great compromise for the change.  Even the hope of getting one will placate many folks who were upset by the change.

I don't think many ToFS will hit the market, so not sure we can count on that being a source for new players.

Nice job on WoT, that is hardcore grinding!

Couple things that would be nice at some point:

1. Review all vendors in Nexus and ensure that they return items given.   A couple people have turned in their RoA to the Elemental Focus Vendor and have had it eaten.

2.  Any plans for the Earring of Ages or another non tier quest type item?   Another item to pursue outside of the tier line would be a nice change of pace.

Server is awesome, thank you for the hard work.

A few hours ago I already put in a default.pl file into Nexus so that any npc without a quest file (like most vendors or merchants) would automatically return the items back to the player. I don't know why people giving their RoA to vendors lol. Had to reimburse in game face to face transfer players RoA back after checking logs for last ring rank handed in. So after doing that a few times,  yeah, its fixed now. But for the npcs that already have a quest file like CG/FG etc would have to check those npcs and add code if needed, since the default.pl won't affect those npcs. I won't put it into the global npc file since any npc that already has return item code would then basically double give back items aka duping. Needs to be specific npc quest file -or- the default.pl local in zone, not both.

Very high likely chance of updating UW quest to put Essence on each floor of ToFS and/or use Resist Stones. Just need time to think about it, and put it in, most likely next week.

Been planning earring of the ages quest for long time. Might do X number of ranks (undecided) and maybe have it rank up the percentage of chance for Divine Intervention. If I do 1% per rank, then rank 50 would be 50% chance for Divine Intervention to save you upon death, or I could do 1% per 10 ranks, to draw it out more, and make it cost AA per rank just like the RoA. I want to make more items that you can spend AA on instead of just RoA so there would be options.

#Cara_Omica has been fixed, and will no longer equip the dagger if it is in the loot list. Effective after next reboot.

Some npcs we want to equip stuff so I can't just blanket fix it, would have to be individual npcs upon request. Its not the addloot code, its table loot list database stuff.

If spawned multiple times, could be several different people in several different private instances, since the spawn message is displayed to everyone regardless of zone your in. Highly doubt would get the boss to spawn in the same zone so soon one after another.

Hopefully players are having fun with that boss.

Would it be possible to have MM untargetable until all mobs in anguish killed like the essence guy in t8? It's so easy to forget a mob in a cell and having him poof is a bit of a pain. I figured out how to get him to come back but just think it'd be easier to make him untargetable instead of poofing if possible.

Easy fix that I realized this morning. Convert it to click effect with 6 second cooldown. Problem solved. *hide*

Not to defend anyone who has done this (like danish who gave his RoA to the level up npc lol @ danish!!!!!!!!), but people just get in grind mode and stop thinking.

any thoughts about maybe changing the clicky exp reward item to at least an hour 30 min is kinda lame

Regarding the experience reward item, it doesn't have finite charges and has like a 10 second cool down timer... 30 minute duration doesn't hinder its usefulness.

I died way too much in Field of Scale to have fun there lol.

Umbral Plains, Plane of Disease,  may be cool

idea for UW weaps

UW I = 100 Qvic essence + 1x10m coin + weapon
UW II = 100 Tacvi essence + 2x10m coin + UW I
UW III = 100 Dragon Minor essence + 3x 10m coin + UW II
UW IV = 100 Dragon Major essence + 1 x 10m coin + EoN + UW III
UW V = 100 God Minor essence + 2x 10m coin + EoN + UW IV
UW VI = 100 God Major + 3x 10m coin + EoN + UW V
UW VII = 100 Abyss essence + 1 x 10m coin + EoF + UW VI
UW VIII = 100 Anguish essence + 2x 10m coin + EoF + UW VII
UW IX = 100 LP essence + 3x 10m coin + EoF + UW VIII
UW X = all essence x 100 + UW IX or 100 ToV essence + 4x 10m coin + EoF + UW IX

i have done 8 rounds in t6 this week. a few notes. it sucks to miss one mob, attack OMM, and he poofs. also, i think i got him to poof another way. if you pull the whole sircle, and let your group follow you, and someone gets to close to "the bubble" and soemhting goes off say a ripose of warrior epic with nerds in, seemed to be the cause of poof. solution: leave party in the first nook, pull circle, slowly, back to them.

I REALLY like the idea of having him non-targetable, non agro non-whatever until everything else is dead. saves you from losing the reward at the end for simply forgetting one mob somewhere.
also, its not a nad ideea  to leave one person back near the fork to Ture, in-case you did leave one, so you can get back.

a tip for OMM is to /highlight all, and make sure your MQ2 says 4 mobs highlighted, any more and a mob is left up.  And yeah just be careful around OMM, I have yet to make a mistake but I am sure it is inevitable.
