That would be dangerous, with all of the "love" going around lately, we could have half the server permanently jailed or disconnected lol.

Could make limits on it, like 1 vote per hour or per day, per character or per IP.

Maybe require 10 votes total from different characters?

not a big fan of this idea... I can have one on all 20 accounts then do /votekick anyone I want?

Yeah, then people would think twice before trolling someone in ooc, or kill stealing some noob in public.

well yea if we can trust someone to not abuse it...

even a small amount of power can go to peoples head...

so basilcy someone would do it and the rest of the server would get the " there has been a vote to kick Hunter for the reason of wielding ban hammer" ? it would be fun to play with but you'd have to limit it to only one IP could vote/initiate a vote kick

I find a lot of people annoying, but there is an ignore feature for a reason, I don't want anyone kicked or muted especially in an MMO where circlejerks and crap form.

Way too big of an opportunity to abuse it.  There is no way to restrict this to the point where it would be in any way fair.

Anyone who wants to take over a mob / zone you want can come up with any reason they want, make a false plea to /ooc or /gu and have enough people on board to make it happen.

I agree. People disagree, people hate others. It happens and we have /ignore.
Besides it wont change how I use ooc  :P

If you were going to go live with an item like this one then you should choose specific people on the server to have it - or have some clearly defined conditions to gain it (eg. Played on the server for more than 18 months).  There's probably enough verteran players on the server who would act sensibly with this item to ensure it wasn't abused. 

Far too big an opportunity to abuse this. Very, very bad idea IMO.

If someone in OOC bothers you, ignore em and play your own game. If someone violates the rules, be a big boy, get proof (fraps, logs, etc) and follow server rules on such issues.

This idea was fun and games in OOC earlier. But to now see it a reality? Oh god, do you know how many people would destroy machines over being DCd during a pull or in the middle of loot and can't get back in? If not trolling and this initiates I see some very upset people and a whole lot of OOC wars involving harsh words.

Edit: I do see now this is a discussion thread. Above is my opinion on this, I just don't see how beneficial this is to anyone heh besides making people mad to the point they just up and leave.

This would be abused by large guilds, and Maslow would never get GC again. 

The 2nd part is really important to read again.

If a noobie gets KS'd are they going to know enough to throw this out there and still will there be enough to really care. Don't think that happens enough though for it to be an issue.  Annoying /ooc, /ignore works just fine and dandy. Could see this becoming annoying and abused such as someone throws it out there as a joke on Hate or someone more popular and people vote yes just to be funny.

Though i would say with the new train script it might be fun to add after 3 min of being in jail there be a server wide vote wether or not to keep them in there for another 5-10 min
