First of all, I doubt anyone remembers me after all this time but I perused through a lot of old posts and remember quite a few of you. It's amazing to see how many old farts still play. :)

I was really moved after hearing the news.

Hunter was an amazing man and sacrificed a lot of his time to benefit people other than himself. In his honor I’m reinstalling Ezserver and can’t wait to get some of that nostalgia again and start fresh.

First question – I know without a doubt a lot has changed. Is it possible to be viable as a single character? When I stopped playing years back, I remember boxing several toons was pretty much a requirement if you wanted to get anything done — is this still the case?

Will I be able to start a new class and work up the ranks of epics – and get reasonably far before I have to start making extra accounts to 2/3/4/20 box?

Pretty much consider me as a new player. It’s been long enough where I remember very little of this server and how to thrive. Anything else of note I should consider or think about before I dive right in?

First off, Welcome back!

Second, the green EZ Guide link on the left side of the page is a huge help for new players.

Third - to answer some of your questions:
1) This is a box server, you'll be able to solo to 70 very easily and that's about it.  Best bet is to run at least 6 and you can get through T7 with just 6.  Sure, it will be painfully slow at times, but you can do 6.

2) Many of us were helped along the way when we joined by at least one other person.  Plenty of people on the server, including myself, can help you with buffs, killing mobs, etc.  Just as in /OOC and people will help.

3) If you're serious about coming back and want to progress, start all 6/12/18 toons and level them together.  The Yellow Optimization Guide link on the left will help you setup your box army. 

4) Great starter group is War, Pal, Clr, Monk, Brd, Zerk. - That group can easily run through T7 if geared and augged appropriately.

Thinking of returning myself soon. I hopped on last night to poke around. I haven't been able to find any info on the ult weapon augs yet. Are these in yet, or do we just socket the epic Aug for now?

Ultimate Augs aren't in game.   Ultimate weapon will take weapon augs now though.
