As some of you may have noticed, we now have a banner once again. It may be slow at first but once your browser caches the images it should be fine. It has a few dozen images it will cycle through. As you have noticed, we have no logo to put with this new banner. So I'm going to have a 'EZ Logo' contest on the forums which should be some exciting competition. Proper Browser Caching I've implemented some browser caching enforcement so you should notice things be a little snappier, the site was already fairly lightweight. Spammers and Registration As I have been told, at some point in time a ton of spammers made its way onto the EZ forums so Hunter had forced it so that registrations had to be manually approved. When the server was turned over to Hateborne and myself, there were approximately 104,000 unapproved accounts from all of the piled up spam users. This makes it quite difficult to even notice or approve new members, so some Spring cleaning was done and all new accounts that were not declared 'Activated' were purged. So if you were one of these accounts, register again please. What's to keep this from happening again? Well we will monitor it in the meantime but I've implemented the 'Re-CAPTCHA' system that Google runs so it will use a dynamic captcha library from Google each and every registration.
