Title: damn twist went haywire after update Post by: Rent Due on July 02, 2014, 04:21:28 pm so everything is going smooth and then I updated windows to 8.1!!!!
now when I try to twist anything I get an error message in my eq chat box (not mq2 box) that says "that is not a valid command, please use /help" so I downloaded a fresh mq2 UF, notta so I'm using wineq to log in. I set this up ages ago and when I try to use my eq game shortcut I get the memory error message, whatever I am running everything as admin and compatibility service pack 3 as I always have. now in my mq2 box it says twisting 1, 2, 3, 10 and shows the songs etc, but no songs are being sung and my eq chat gives the error everytime it attempts to sing any ideas? btw you can not uninstall win 8.1 update Title: Re: damn twist went haywire after update Post by: Chieftan on July 02, 2014, 04:59:45 pm now when I try to twist anything I get an error message in my eq chat box (not mq2 box) that says "that is not a valid command, please use /help" That means eq dosn't recognize the mq2 command (twist) so eq and mq2 not linking up correctlyQuote So I'm using wineq to log in. I set this up ages ago and when I try to use my eq game shortcut I get the memory error message, whatever You mean, if using wineq it loads, but has the problem, But if using normal shortcut without wineq, it errors? If so, try resetting graphics resolution, use option editor to reset, load without wineq, and see it it loads with lower res setting, and change back ingame Quote now in my mq2 box it says twisting 1, 2, 3, 10 and shows the songs etc, but no songs are being sung and my eq chat gives the error everytime it attempts to sing Again, problem with eq and mq2 not talkingQuote any ideas? btw you can not uninstall win 8.1 update I dont use wineq or have Win 8, sticking with Win7, so cant checkTitle: Re: damn twist went haywire after update Post by: Natedog on July 02, 2014, 05:29:49 pm inside the mq2cast.. it uses ....
/stopsong -- (basic eq command to stop the current song) /cast -- (basic eq command to cast stuff..) /itemnotify -- (this is for clickies or whatever) older ones seemed to use /multiline .. not sure if newer one does... Try those commands see if your EQ recognizes them.. Title: Re: damn twist went haywire after update Post by: Rent Due on July 02, 2014, 07:23:20 pm funny thing is everything else works perfect. weird

Title: Re: damn twist went haywire after update Post by: Kruciel on July 03, 2014, 08:40:25 am You could also try right clicking MQ2. Properties > Compatibility > Run this program in Compatibility for: <Whatever OS you want>
Personally, I think Windows 8 is a Smart Phone designed OS that looks and runs like shit. I'll stick with 7 :) Title: Re: damn twist went haywire after update Post by: Kruciel on July 03, 2014, 08:41:17 am And the Windows Phones are even worse than the OS~ Don't buy one... ever

Where do you have mq2 installed?
Depending on where you have it installed your config files may have been virtualized. Running in compatibility mode complicates the issue as well, you almost never need it. I suspect that where mq2 is looking for the MacroQuest.ini file has changed as a result of the update or how you're running it and it is using the default plugin list which does not include the twist plugin. I'd search your hard drive for all copies of MacroQuest.ini. Chances are you'll find more than one, and need to copy your old settings to where it is now looking. |
