Title: Server 'Lag' Post by: Akkadius on July 25, 2014, 02:14:00 pm If anyone notices a difference in server performance from the last time we made a server hardware move, which was last Friday. Please reply to this thread with your observations regarding the noticeable differences.
I also need to know the time of day and how many players are on during this time you are noticing issues. Please be as descriptive as possible so I can get to the root of the issue. EDIT: I will be making adjustments over the weekend to isolate the intermittent hangs. Thanks, -Akka Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Brunaa on July 26, 2014, 02:36:32 am I start to play 8 am german time (that must be about 1 am your time) and all is fine till rebot. After rebot it starts with disconnections and server crashes. 8 pm german time ( must be your lunchtime) its impossible to play, I log on 12 toons 5 minutes later 5 or 6 get disco an awfull lag starts aswell then.
I hope these info helps a bit. Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Ponzi on July 26, 2014, 04:52:24 am Mostly i notice the lag comes when i hit autoattack and the server/my client begins the dice rolls and whatever. like in old bugs bunny cartoons when people jump up in the air and spin their legs in circles before taking off in a forward direction.
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Denzig on July 26, 2014, 08:17:33 am 9:03am eastern, froze for `1 minute then a bomb of zone connects with a connection lost message. Never went LD though.

I have seen this sort of lag before. This is the one where the numbers roll occur to determine if a boss is going to spawn or not. Immediately after that spike a boss pops on the map. Prior to the hardware upgrade this was a spike that was noticeable, but was just a pulse that you had to be looking for to see. Now the spike is heavy and causes your support toons to run around looking for a place to be a hero until it passes. Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Fugitive on July 26, 2014, 02:40:34 pm 10(ish) CST GI, Was mass pulling T5 had a good handful of mobs turn around and start attacking, zone stuttered like was going to crash finally it settled out in about 5 mins (that's way more time then it takes to kill a handful mobs)
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Expletus on July 26, 2014, 04:46:27 pm 5:45pm pulled 15 mobs in T6 and 2 boxes were fighting them after they had been killed for 2 mins. Ping soared to 500 on those 2 boxes.
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Akkadius on July 26, 2014, 06:25:55 pm Thanks all for the data so far, I will figure out what is going on. It's just a matter of isolation.
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Kovou on July 26, 2014, 09:25:23 pm 1:15am cst just zoned into PoAir with 15 toons 13 out of 15 desync'd about a min after zoning in.
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Chieftan on July 27, 2014, 05:55:12 am It maybe nothing to do with lag issues, but just a thought
The instance IDs for new instance is now 14000+, they dont seem to delete/reset anymore Although the old instance may be dead, possible still some data hanging around Big DataBase entrys for instances, causing issue ?? Just a thought Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Expletus on July 27, 2014, 10:24:22 am Abyss this am. 1100hrs was horrible. 20-30 mobs and my main box was 15-20 sec behind the rest, no ping spikes.

Just a thought Maybe non related, but I noticed an odd issue with instances and time left. last night I received a 5 minute warning, zoned the toons out. About 5 minutes later I popped a waypoint and asking it to give me a guild list. The window displayed no one in guild instance and 57 minutes left on instance. The waypoint still showed that I could enter the guild soI tried to zone in and it would not let me. A few minutes after that the waypint allowed me to create another instance. Probably not a problem since it eventually allowed me to create a new one but there could be some timing issue with the instance id? Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Warbash on July 27, 2014, 11:27:01 pm I noticed lag or basiclly everything stopping when I kill a named in t5 that I have not before. sever lag until the quest completion dialog box shows.
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: Dimur on July 28, 2014, 01:21:36 am I haven't been outside T9, but I run full filters and am not seeing anything out of the ordinary for lag since people have been noting extra lag. Desyncs can still happen on big pulls, but they don't take long to stabilize on my end.
Title: Re: Server 'Lag' Post by: zefirus on August 06, 2014, 07:52:46 am Akka,
I was having some very bad lag in Dulak yesterday morning. It was an instance and had two characters. No crash or DC but extreme lag. Around 10AM EST. Just FYI. I have not experienced this in any other zones. The pull was around 30 mobs. |
