Title: Server Code Update

This update will run Double Loot through to Saturday morning reboot.

  • NPC's and Corpses should no longer fall through the map nearly as often, if there are zones where this still exists, please make a post and I will take a look at them for adjustments
  • Several spell related zone crashes have been fixed (What players noticed in T5 and ToFS)
  • MGB related crashes have been fixed
  • Some rare AA crashes have been fixed
  • Some very large performance adjustments have been found and made once again
  • Implemented a new accidental item hand in system, if you hand in an item to a NPC accidently you will get it back. This does not account for cash and does not account for 1 wrong item when 2 right ones are given at the same time
  • New Spellfile has been posted for download
  • Some crashes related to twincast have been fixed
  • An issue where players would cause excessive damage to selves post update has been fixed

We will be watching hand-ins very carefully in the next week given this new system, if you find an exploit, please notify myself about it and you will be rewarded accordingly. If you are caught without making mention of it, you will be at the very least suspended, so please just make an effort to make the community a better place and not try to take advantage of things.

There still seems to be a lot of Wisps traveling under the world in Jaggedpine. Not sure if there is anything that can be done about that.

Just curious, what was it that was causing some people to kill themselves? I know I was getting it, but guildmates couldn't reproduce it and I'm curious  ;)

An AA was referencing Ultimate Cleave as a base spell effect instead of Killing Spree, causing players to hit themselves for ridiculous amounts of damage.

Killing Spree replaced the reference as it should have and Ultimate Cleave was moved as well as any items that referenced it.

Thank you for the dbl loot, it was super fun and productive.

Thank you for the extra time on the double loot, it was unexpected and even more fun and productive.

And thank you for finally pulling the plug, allowing me to sleep long enough that i could be less fun and super productive in the real world on monday night. lol

No problem!

I just want to make note that we had only 4 crashes since Friday, making the EZ server incredibly stable since our upgrade.

The processor usage hummed at a very small 30% while the server was at 500 players and overall performance was very snappy. Things to be happy about.

I have heard however some issues with people dieing a bit faster than before with large pulls. I will have to get some more data on the players on what they possibly think has changed.

Seems as if randomly  buffs dont work i.e stonewall effects and uc effects been happening awhile now but more frequent these last few days i dont keep logs so i cant back that up with proof but i have seen it happen with the fly by damage of spells. once that should hit 160k with my uc3 only hits for 20k. Maslow had his war effect effect not work yesterday and i have had issues with sk cloak of anarchy not work as well. seems to be pretty random,.

I used to be able to pull TOFS floor 2 in three pulls, left side, middle then right hand side. No problem at all...( Yeah I know big deal blah blah)

Until after this update, I now get mauled and I've gained an extra 20k or so Hp's from new weapon skins yet it seems to have gotten harder......

Is it just me doing something different, although I'm not doing anything different..

rebuffing all my stonewalls on repop seems to have solved my problem. however im not doing upper tiers atm so i will know more in a week or so as i am moving and have been busy. but i shouldnt need to redo buffs every repop =(. also can we PLEASE make the recast timer on buffs 1 min instead of 5

Agreed, especially regarding the rebuff.    Having to wait 5 min for a rebuff is rough, especially if you wipe due to some wackadoo nonsense.

This was done after months upon months of people asking (though mostly threatening/mocking) for keeping shaman buff at 15 while Oak and Crab were nearly instant. They got normalized and made the same.

Yes I understand this isn't what everyone wanted when hounding me for months about "fixing" the shaman buff, but there has to be SOME penalty for death instead of a 30sec inconvenience.

Why does there have to be a penalty for death?   We have to rezone, rebuff etc which is a pita in itself.   I'd prefer the shaman buff be 15 min timer and the druid/cleric buff be back to where it was.
