Title: System / Video Card and Boxing Question
Post by: Warbash on May 15, 2015, 10:54:46 pm
Hi all,

I have a question for you all, I box 18 toons, sometimes I add more for fun :) What I do is box 17 on 1 pc and my main on my laptop. My 2nd pc with 17 gets a little hardware laggy and I want to improve that as I cant stand it lol. Question is what can / should I do to improve this?

System is:
Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W BX80637I73770K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9Q-32GSR
1 x EVGA 025-P3-1579-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) HD 2560MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video ...

Running Win7 Pro and using ISBoxer / Innerspace.

I have messes with slim versions and do not find much change so I just run min settings and stick figure.

So from what I understand my system should do this no problem, so is innerspace eating up graphic memory trying to maintain the game resolution for quick swap or what?

Any help would be great and thanks!

So I loaded up some monitoring tools and
video card mem usage 512 out of 2.5gb
CPU 20%
Mem 10gb out of 32gb

I also have SSD but nothing seems to be maxing out. And when I talk lag, one example is trying to open up the windows resource monitor and it pops up, with a 1.2 second lag, then the screen is black and about .6 seconds later it fills in with the details.

I (and probably others as well) only didn't reply because that sounds like a pretty solid rig. Not sure you have a real choke point ... At least not that I know of.

I know, I don't get why at session 18 it really starts to lock up the system. I read about CPU parking and modified that http://www.tomsguide.com/forum/62821-35-disable-core-parking-intel-core, didn't really see a difference.

Sounds like your bios or os aren't  configured to run past 512mb vram

Also i would run a few copies of stripped installs so the ssd isn't writing to the same file location 17 times in a row

Thanks! So I check my bios and since this is not an integrated video chip there is no setting to adjust. Not sure what else to check.

Look for bios updates

And check your video card app to see if there is a setting

Also are you using a 64 bit install of win 7

Yes sir, I'm using win 7 64. When you run a dedicated card there is no setting to change in bios. I'm going to test the card memory next.

There maybe an inert setting in bios that you need a bios flash to fix
