The idea of developing a series of informative videos started about two years ago.  The frequency of questions over /ooc by newer players was steady at that point in time.  We have a great set of Wiki's at our disposal, but they are comprehensive, and often the complaint was that they didn't want to read a manual for hours to get involved in a game.  Plus, reading is for nerds.

I kicked around the idea for awhile, having developed other video series for other games and guilds, but I was too busy grinding out T2 to be bothered.  Early this year, I decided it was time to give back to the community.  I really like this place and I would like more people to check out EZ and not get scared off by the learning curve.  People seem to really like digital media, and from my own personal experience, I would rather watch a tutorial video than read a PDF or instruction manual.

So far I've developed 5 Videos, with plans to make 3 in the near future, and a dozen or so more as I make my own progression.

It's a great feeling to finally launch this channel and get some feedback, especially constructive criticism.  I've been using my free time to develop these 5 videos for about 4 months now.  It's nice to see them done and released.  If you have any suggestions for future videos, post below so I can develop a plan around it.

I want to be clear that this is for the community and at the disposal of the Admins.   I made this with quality in mind, so if you think something sucks, say it here so I can correct it.  If I made an error, let it be known so I can adjust it.  I have retained all of the raw video and assets so I can make corrections, except for the Epic 2.0 video.  I accidentally saved over the After Effects and Vegas files.  I had been drinking.

I've also been involved in updating maps for Darpey's Wiki.  Most of the maps were originals from live, some hand drawn in colored pencil, most were small in size and weren't really EZ maps.  As I update these maps, if I missed something or you would like to suggest a change, let me know.

Originally I accepted Akk's offer to make the wiki because I knew that I would get busy at work and play less and have zero time to update the ezguide. I'd hoped that people would jump in and run with it...and they have!! This video guide kicks ass! If I can do anything to help, yell!

I was able to get the videos to 720p quality.  I uploaded all of them except for the Epic 2.0 video.  That video I can't do much with due to losing my files.  I'm currently trying to optimize its settings so it is more compatible with YouTube, but it will be a 480p video.  If it wasn't 14 minutes long and the most animated video, I would just remake it.  Lessons were learned.

I'll be starting the "Installing and Setup" video on Monday.

One correction: 1.5 epic is JUST Terrorantula, no more Quillmane.

I bought the rogue epic weapon MQ on p99 for 50k (don't know if you know about their platinum values, but 50k is a shitton of money. It was all I had saved at the time. I was drinking, and gave the final turnin to the wrong guy. I think I will remember that moment when I am 70

ToFS maps look great - good improvement over the old wiki ones

Thank you!  It was always difficult to follow the maps due to size, when I saw them under 200 x 200 resolution I thought a touch up might be in order.

Here's a comparison of the original map to the updated one.  I now realize I need to touch up Floor 4.  Missing Cara's spawn point.

Most major maps are done.  I'm not flagged for Sunrock, and from the threads it seems terrifying.  Now I'll switch gears and start working on videos.

Is there any changes you would like to be made to the Halloween Zone?  I tried to remember the zone layout from the wire frame map.

There is a tunnel between the north west and south west sections. Also Diablo spawns in the middle with that portal.

Is assuming running on one computer, some may run on 2 so IP address would need to be addressed for EQBC, something that could be covered in advanced

basic
I probably would use
/bca //tar ID ${Me.ID}
for stick, rather than PC name, as could target a pet, if master has one up, (they do sometimes go their own way instead of following it's master ) or use /tar =noot as example to ensure it targets the PC not a pet

So i didnt know this was something that could be done. I have often wished i could play my warrior from my lappy which can only handle a couple instances and talk to my PC for my box army...ill hae to dig into this.

You're right about that.  I wanted to introduce both ${Target.ID} and the regular /tar command but completely forgot about ${Me.ID}.  Whoops!  I'll see if I can incorporate it into the Advanced video.

I bumped into this video on YouTube and it made me want to play again!  Except the links for the client are broken....

I was working on the Blackburrow and T10 Wiki pages and noticed the Blackburrow map was missing.  Fixed that.

Possible you could add updating Ultimate Aug info on the wiki? Not sure how indepth your knowledge is on it. But info is a bit sparse atm. Looks like you can buy the base aug and upgrade it to level 2. But I saw someone update theirs to level 4? Wouldn't have even known that was a thing had I not seen the server spam since the item for upgrades just says "Takes a level 1 to a 2", doesn't really hint at anything further.

Also having some info about useable levels for each aug level would be good.

There are other upgrade items on the queen to buy for upgrading further

Ah, maybe just doesn't show until a later level then.

All the stonehive info was part of the next planned update for the wiki that I never got a chance to get to. Sorry.
