Title: Question for Hateborne Post by: Scorpien on November 17, 2015, 07:44:10 am I asked this in the post monster that is EZ Augment Changes! so it might of gotten over looked.
Is there any plans to change the 4 slot and 8 slot augs on pre-t7 weapons, to bring them more in line with the current aug system for everything else in game? Scorpien Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Brannyn on November 17, 2015, 08:10:10 am I'm going to guess that is a no, as there are a large number of weapon augs designed to go in those slots
Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Expletus on November 17, 2015, 09:05:22 am Don't forget TOFS gear
Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: hateborne on November 17, 2015, 09:21:56 am Actually yes, that is for this weekend. I'll give a 12h window to remove them given that augs are HUGELY expensive. That is part two of bringing the game's augmentation system to something significantly more uniform. :-)

Also don't forget Tse whip with aug slot 8 Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Darpey on November 17, 2015, 11:42:30 am Actually yes, that is for this weekend. We should take all our pre-T7 augs out of our weapons? Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: hateborne on November 17, 2015, 01:54:44 pm Actually yes, that is for this weekend. We should take all our pre-T7 augs out of our weapons? Yes, nothing will change in that respect. Just shaving off extra slots to make everything similar to T7+. As warped as it may sound, it's going to be easier to leave them as is. The first slot was shaved from gear due to it being a weird/useless type. It would have been much harder to remove the third slot on armor and get people to rotate every single aug out than it would've been the way it was handled. At this point, you can unslot if you want to do so. Only slots 2-4 are being affected on weapons pre-T7. Yes this a lot of augs, but had something planned to make up the losses...but clearly that went to shit. So..yeah...no free hands out with this change. -Hate Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: barrettd04 on November 17, 2015, 02:09:27 pm SO what it sounds like is that instead of 3 strike augs we'll be reduced to 1...great.
Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Warbash on November 17, 2015, 03:00:52 pm SO what it sounds like is that instead of 3 strike augs we'll be reduced to 1...great. Relax, reducing the aug slots is cool. Less to manage :) look at the simplicity of managing 2 ninja aug t7 plus vs 2 ninja and 4 ice. Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Scorpien on November 17, 2015, 03:16:59 pm I'm sure these two questions are going to Kick this thread into over drive like the last augment change thread but here it goes anyways.
This is just speculation but from what i see in my mind the way of Augs, is on armor you have a single hp aug and a random slot aug (resist or threat reduction). Weapons will have a single aug less UW's. Question one is with this change are is the overall cost of strike augs going to be evaluated? This just my opinion but the Mana Necklace cost vs effectiveness has a very nice synergy. Question two what are your thoughts on the 2handed weapon classes (paly/zerker)? One aug double the effect or you have another plan in mind? Scorpien Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Rent Due on November 17, 2015, 04:16:12 pm I am honestly confused here.
someone break this down barney style for me here so as it stands right now T9 1h weapons have (1) slot 2, type 22 proc augment, ie 1 NSXI T9 2h weapons have (2) slots, (1) slot 2, type 22 and (1) slot 3, type 22 SO, with that said, do we need to remove the augs on the 2h, which one, what? and with the 1h, what happens there? anything? nothing? cause I don't want to be the jackhole that loses 80mil plat on this deal Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Expletus on November 17, 2015, 04:20:47 pm Now im confused and dont wanna lose my augs !!

The issue is with only the RoF client you would be unable to socket a 2hander with dual FS augs. Since I have a few pre-T7 melee chars I will be removing their augs over this weekend to be on the safe side. Scorpien Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Rent Due on November 17, 2015, 05:13:28 pm I've had 2 FSXI's in my 2h T9 weapons for who knows how long
so I should remove one? that's what I'm asking basically Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: barrettd04 on November 17, 2015, 05:57:30 pm SO what it sounds like is that instead of 3 strike augs we'll be reduced to 1...great. I'm just not fond of reduction in my DPS. First the VT *fix*, now this. Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Chunka on November 17, 2015, 09:37:20 pm Hate, please dont think I am goin after you here, because I am not. But before you've stated you wouldntr make major nerfs/changes without first letting us know. Yeah, I know, its a double edged sword....you get a bunch of people bitching. Thick skin, but....nod, smile, make your changes! But let us KNOW, so we can prep....and MORE IMPORTANTLY so we can point out issues you might not have foreseen. None of us are infallible :D I mean....its not a massively huge deal that I have to now go camp T9 just for slimy cowardice augs, but its something that could have been prevented with a little heads up.
That being said, I like where you're going with this...and I honestly hope you find a way to make the weapon streamlining work. Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: hateborne on November 17, 2015, 10:09:16 pm Yes, as mentioned in thread, in ooc, and just now to you in tells...I lose either way. The change was the least evil way to do it (but it was still crappy). This is kind of the last thing I like to do (as Dimur noted), I've got a weakness towards catering versus screwing you gents. If I said "Hey, I'm scaling all augs up 3x, removing some, and you've got 12h to remove them"...well I'd have everyone at ~5k resists when the change hit.
I understand this screwed some of you, and as mentioned in the now locked thread, if you are literally screwed because of it...PM me which characters, EXACTLY your value before the change, and I'll help get you caught up once I check the backup. Additionally, if anyone is trying to 'game' my willingness to help (reporting augs or a resist value MUUUUCH higher than the backup shows)...you will get a nice week long 'vacation'. -Hate Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: barrettd04 on November 18, 2015, 12:39:16 pm My main concern was the DPS hit with the change to the strike aug slots...although I understand that it is needed in order to streamline things more and thats the way the server is going. I appreciate the work you put in bud, in the end I'm sure it'll all work out. Don't let the whiners(myself included, lol) get ya down too much. It's not a game-breaking change, some people may be mad at first but we'll adapt and still continue to play and have fun on EZ Server. ;D
Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: Rent Due on November 18, 2015, 05:08:58 pm so we remove that 2nd NSXI on the 2hd weapon or not?

That's not even a dick move...that's a progression CRUSHING move. Rent, no, it's fine for now. I'll give warning if it's changing. -Hate Title: Re: Question for Hateborne Post by: barrettd04 on November 18, 2015, 08:23:51 pm My main concern was the DPS hit with the change to the strike aug slots...although I understand that it is needed in order to streamline things more and thats the way the server is going.
