I was thinking to keep it at the pace it already is, every 5 rank increases require 1 more stone of impatience for an upgrade. So 10-14 is 2, 15-19 is 3, 20-24 is 4 etc.. I even think to the point when it requires 10 you can combine 10 in magic box for a super stone of impatience then 2 super stones of impatience then 3 etc.
