My 3.0s where the green glowy as of yesterday. I dont know if they are the new graphic or not because prior to yesterday I have never seen my own weapons.

The 4.0's for monk are glowy blue around the hands, nothing more.
I'll make a screeny tonight on my monk, or you might see him in Nexus (Morihei)
Would have loved the bamboo sticks as 4.0's but oh well, i turn my shinies off anyway.

Don't even bother with Underfoot graphics. The Underfoot from Steam isn't 100% finished yet, it's getting close but theres still some issues with AAs and spells among a couple other minor issues, and the Live client...well don't ever count on it being a primary client for Emu, they're only coding for the Live client to get a stepping stone towards future Steam releases to make their lives easier. As for SoD, while using them wouldn't be a problem as many people use the client, there are still a lot of Craptanium fanboys out there that refuse to drop their 5 year old shitty code and upgrade. Thus some server GMs (Hunter) hesitate to do SoD content or weapon icons/graphics because all the slow poke people out there would miss out on them unless you patched in the sodequip.eqg files and added it to globalload.txt.

In other words all but 2 of those items you just listed will be ignored sadly :(

Nothing has compared to the 2.0 graphic ever since it came out. 

Shinai is a nice look, but it's not a real hand to hand looking weapon. 

There are three other H2H graphics that maybe someone with their own emulator could pull up, as I never got them on live.  They are: Brumal Fistwraps of Whirling Sleet, Ball of Sunlight, and Handwraps of the Crystalline Fortress.  Again, they don't have graphics as impressive as the 2.0, but they're something to toss around.

in my other suggestion monk epic graphic thread i suggested the shinai as well as the RuneEtchedBambooBo (A bigger version, which imo still the coolest option ive seen for monk epic)

Honestly, I'm rather disappointed in the new graphics.

The whole "glowy fist" weapon thing just leaves such a noob weapon taste in my mouth.

The 3.0 (green glowy) graphic is from a weapon dropped by a level 50-ish named turtle in Natimbi.

If anything, make the earlier epics glowy then make the later epics back to the 1.5/2.0 graphics, or pick something other than glowy fists.

I feel like I'm some alt monk that somebody went to the bazaar and bought the "best" weapon 10k could buy.

im new to server and started about 2 weeks ago i played monk on live and have been waiting for an mmo to play a similar char.   i found ez server and i can say that i def agree we need some new graphics and i second the shinai graphic (shinai of the ancients)!

Yeah, Shinai or dual REBBs or claws or something other than glowy fists would be awesome. I was a huge weapon collector on my EQLive monk, owning almost every graphic-type of weapon up to GoD, and apart from rapidly swapping glowies to look like police sirens or something, I rarely showed them off.

The ones I showed off and got the most "ooo, pretty" tells over were the Shinai.

I propose making the 1.5 a glowy, 2.0 another glowy, 2.5 a Shinai, 3.0 the Live 1.5, 3.5 Live 2.0, 4.0 REBB, or something like that.

I have to say, I prefer the glowy fist weapons over everything.  To this day though, I dont think anything looks better than the original Monk 2.0 graphic.  I wish we could trade out our current epics for a version that we like with the same stats etc. Just not a big fan of the current 3.0. (or 2.5 for that matter).

I think almost anyone that played a Monk on EQLive will agree that the glowy fist weapons are generally considered "noob" looking, which is why a lot of us have issue with the current graphics.

There are newer monk glowing fist graphics (some listed in this thread) that are different looking than the original old glowing fists.  Still wish the 2.0 graphic could be reintroduced somewhere for us, as it is by far, the best graphic monk weapon we have ever had.  I played a monk on live for 10 years, and yes the glowing fists do tend to look noobish, in particular the old red glowing, or even the green glowing that came out with the release of LDoN, but 2.0 was far from any of those!

Those would be better than the current 3.0s. 

Heck, I wish they could make a way to change the look of your epics.  Make an NPC that would give you a different version when you give him your epic and some other item.

on paper that seems possible but hey im not a coder.

instead of changing the epic graphics every here-there, just add in code for that new weapon model to the epic merchant, so peeps can trade in their 3.0 for an identical 3.0 but with a different graphic.

kinda have a feeling you'd need to duplicate the epic as a new item for every graphic though.
