Title: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Hunter on September 19, 2010, 04:30:51 am Hopefully Root and Zone Crashes will be fixed.
AFK Script set to 2 hrs instead of 1 hr. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Padme on September 19, 2010, 06:38:49 am Thanks a ton for the zone crash, i hope airplane wont crash anymore, its was pretty bad to crash while fighting T3/T4 boss :'(
But about the afk script, i think 2 hours is a lot, 1hour is really enough, people just have to log out if they wont play now, it will be better for the server ... just my 2cent ... Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Cracken on September 19, 2010, 07:06:06 am Hard at work as ever even on your days off hunter=P Fix is greatly appreciated. Have to agree with Padme with the 1 hour being really enough. Overall looks good just don't think anyone need more then 1 hour since the longest camp worth wild i can think of is only an hour camp anything else would just be pure laziness on their part. I can 9 box on one comp and still keep all my toons active in different zones while running roa or just messing around. Well, then again thats just my opinion.

I pulled all of earth to test and still went LD but only on the toon that was engaged, very nice. Much appreciated sir! I also noticed an improved resistance to LDing with multiple mobs so win win!
Thanks again. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Loyal on September 19, 2010, 11:13:51 am I did some testing as well - Pulled a massive pull in PoFire.
It created a good amount of lag but the zone held true and no crash. Very nice work Hunter - I appreciate all your hard work. It was nice to see my character go from 47-60 in one pull :D Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Yasuka on September 19, 2010, 05:23:30 pm Dear Hunter,
Thank you for the update. And thank you Rogean for the fix. I tested by pulling the entire Time zone to DS, and even with rampage and furious disc, no crash. It's a thing of beauty. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: swamphy on September 19, 2010, 07:51:14 pm Tested it by pulling Time (yes all of it) about 10 times.
Zone stayed up every time, but did semi-crash my client once. It was rather odd. I could control the toon but could not see the mobs move or die. So I just had my druid watch from afar and finished the fight. Very nice update. This really puts bards on the back shelf now that warriors don't crash the zone anymore. Bards used to be preferred for RoA because they kill fast and don't crash zones. Now it's warriors hands down. Might be nice to throw bards a bone. Perhaps increase haste so it makes sense to have a bard with less than 4 melee in group? just a thought. Thanks again! Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Therous on September 19, 2010, 10:16:52 pm wow this new fix for zones not crashing is awesome, i tested the same above in a time instance and the zone didn't even go to 99% first pull then second one it made my client crash but also made it where i could move and attack but nothing was dieing and everything kept running one way. was weird

If anything you guys should thank him. They've been trying to find out about that bug for the longest. Well aware of it. EZ was basically my test to see if it was really fixed, and it really was. Great job Rogean. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: zomgDanyelle on September 20, 2010, 04:09:33 am You guys know the crash fix was done by Rogean right? Hunter just updated the code. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: sohami on September 20, 2010, 07:16:50 am thanks rogean!

Yes, if the fix I'm looking at in SVN is the right one. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Gantrathor on September 20, 2010, 08:37:56 am I did an LDoN 2 (mmcd) zone pull, everything but bosses. Thats 65 mobs or so, with not even a hiccup.
I'm curious, has anyone been in PoFire with multiple Aug V Warriors pulling and killing large trains simultaneously? I know that when in the zone alone I could pull much more than when others were in the zone, especially if they too were pulling and killing trains. Need to do a stress test in PoFire! :P Regardless, thanks for the fix! Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Otaduke on September 20, 2010, 09:12:51 am Awesome Rogean thank you thank you thank you a million times over for digging in to this issue, Awesome save and thanks for testing it on EZ first Secrets. Hunter I'm amazed you run an awesome server while still holding down family life and a full time job. Hats off to you all for giving us an awesome online gaming.

Need to do a stress test in PoFire! :P Regardless, thanks for the fix! I pulled the entire back area and killed it at once - with 4 Aug V's and a pumice stone - No crash just a bit of lag. Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: zomgDanyelle on September 20, 2010, 02:28:45 pm So this was an EMU problem, not just an EZ problem? Yes the zone crash thing was an Emu bug. Should make zones damn near indestructible now :3 Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: Keto on September 20, 2010, 04:46:57 pm im pofire if you get enough mobs the zone kinda lags the character out. like i got all of the mobs a cross the tunnel and the city and killed them. while killing them the mobs looked like they timed out (kept running ) and never really fixed themselves. had to /q the war out and log back in for the mobs to start acting the same w/ the warrior.
Title: Re: Updates 09 19 10 Post by: zomgDanyelle on September 20, 2010, 05:15:04 pm That has nothing to do with EQEmu or this bug, that has to do with your computer. When your computer can't process that much information at once (be it because your box sucks or you have multiple things open or whatever the case may be) it bogs your client down with information and can cause it to disconnect momentarily yet when you return your computer struggles to catch up to your surroundings and sort of just shuts down. Completely unrelated.
