Title: balancing SoD/ Titanium difference
Post by: kalzin230 on September 23, 2010, 01:38:06 pm
Lets face it, buying no-drop loot rights can be expensive but for those who cannot (for whatever reason) find or use SoF/SoD client they get a bonus of weightless coins. a 100% WR coin-purse would make this more balanced in my opinion. so the question stands should one be made available?

There is a banker out right now that most people in T1+ zones have for the more expensive items. Or you could always buy one yourself. :P

i understand that but its 100k per bar... sof/sod clients don't have to pay that premium...

It's actually 1 million and I run SoF the only time coin doesn't weigh is when you first trade or take it off the banker but as soon as you zone you weigh that much and still die from a 1/2 an inch drop.

Maybe SoF is different from SoD, because I just tested jumping off the top of Velketors with and without 300k and the damage is the same.  I use SoD, and I had the coins before I zoned.

Only SoD has weightless coins (and obviously any clients after it, like Underfoot.). SoF coins have weight.

Also why balance it, why the hell use Craptanium at all?

Craptanium is all I have  :(

Question: If I purchase SoD, is it EQ Plus 15 expansions ??
Or would I have to individually purchase:
Dragons of Norrath
Depths of Darkhollow
Prophecy of Ro
The Serpent's Spine
The Buried Sea
Secrets of Faydwer
Seeds of Destruction

I already own EQ up to Omens of War....

How about a banker? There is a banker pet that you can summon to do your banking.

There are coin purses in game, will have to think what to do with them. Maybe make a quest for them, or boss loot.

I've heard it mentioned before that eventually EMU will go to the SoD standard. Does anyone know if this is true?

Big FYI, Those who still use titanium, even after you can google that crap for free and torrent it are holding all SoD users back, the response " it's not fair for me to have a coin weight" is like a 4 year old saying I should be able to drive a car is what it sound likes. ALL of you who use titanium think about this, I just got a computer about 6 months ago, and it's my first one, I also was resistant to getting SoD ( ZOMG my macros )  I get it, but man up and work around it! there are stick and map macros for SoD unless most of you are using illegal macros on titanium????????????

Honestly if you can find me an SoD tracker that has more then 2 seeds I'd like to have it... vuze returns very low health torrents for this particular search... i have been trying for several weeks to locate an SoD download that is legit and actually works... I have the steam version but it doesn't seem to launch or even want to launch...

The torrent option is not available for everyone. My ISP send me a letter everytime i download anything over about 750mb from a torrent site saying they are going to suspend my service if I don't stop downloading pirated software. Furthermore suggesting that everyone should just migrate over to SOD because you can steal it off the interwebs is a bad suggestion anyway. Don't get me wrong, I have obviously downloaded my fair share of torrents myself but criticizing people for not stealing is pretty much a douche move. For the record though, I voted that there not be a coin purse put on the newbie vendor for free. One of the benefits of having the upgraded client should be the lack of coin wt. I did read however that there are several things that don't work with SOD. I can't remember off the top of my head but it was significant enough to me that I did not want to upgrade from SOF to SOD.

Whatever you read is wrong. Everything on SoD works fine.

If anyone feels up to it, they can PM me a website for the SoD.  I tried looking but I fail at the internet :(.  I have the same problem as others the one I find has lower seeders.

Does Harm Touch and Lay on Hands work in SoD?

Downloading torrents larger than 750megs does not mean you are pirating, you should tell your loser ISP to f-off.

Age of Conan put their game out via torrent to relieve the stress of their own servers when it was released.

Ehf em!

I'm all for the availability of such an item. I like earning it even better than newbie vendor.

If Hunter is working on tradeskill guild right now, perhaps that could be a reward.

I like it as a drop as well. Perhaps both.

Hope this happens. I don't pirate Torrents.

SoD isn't sold in stores or via download so is it still pirating something that cant be bought ?
Hopefully Underfoot will be usable in the near future as it is the fastest client I have seen to date, load times are half of any other client.
