Title: Multiboxing software
Post by: Kreemo on September 24, 2010, 10:02:41 am
Hi,

I joined the server last week after years of being cold turkey. Needless to say alot has changed and I am still trying to catch up.

I love how easy it is to play here as the thought of starting afresh for real doesn't appeal to me.

I've already got to chars up to the mid 50's and am having real fun. I can alt tab these 2 toons easily but have made a war and cleric and am looking into multiboxing software so I can play em all!

I love how I can just log in for an hour or two and get some xp, this became hard back in the day when it could take 2 hours just to find a group as I'm sure alot of you remember!

I know other people are doing this, so I just wanted to ask what is the best software? I tried to download the free trial of wineq2 but it didn't seem to work.
Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks
Graeme aka Kreemo (mnk)

Is there a way to play two characters that are on the same account ??
I have a Warrior and a Druid on one and a Pally on the other...
If not, I may create a Cleric on the Pally's account to box with my Warrior...
I have been boxing my Druid and Pally w/o using other software.. works out pretty good, except for the auto follow.. druid seems to run in a big circle instead of following behind the Pally, usually getting aggro of a few mobs...
Does isboxer fix that, or is it just my crappy puter ??

You can play two characters on the same account simply by logging on each one as if they were on seperate accounts.

However, there are issues with this. If you have two clients open with chars from the same account and zone. . . Your characters can swap instances. What happens with me is that the first char that zones will swap to the other instance of that account. The second instance will almost allways crash to char select.

In short It is possible but very very annoying to do. Its much simpler to create another Email/EQMU/Login accounts.

hmm Last time I checked EQEmu gives you 3 Login accounts so all you need to do is register.  ;)
