I dont have time to do an entire guide but I can give a brief explaination to get you through it your first time. Also, I feel your pain because the first time I zoned into LDON I had no idea what to do.

First I would suggest downloading the custom LDON maps that are somewhere in these forums. These maps are much like a guide through the instances as it will tell you where the bosses spawn and what 2.0 pages they drop.

In each level there is a Gatekeeper whom you hand one "Stone of Decent" to and he will teleport your entire group to the next level. Make sure you want to progress because LDON is a one way street. Once you go up you cant go back down without starting all over again. The stones are randomly dropped off any mob in the zone.

Level 1 - No bosses just fight through get your stone and go into level 2
Level 2 - 6 - Each level has 2 page bosses for your 2.0

Please note you get your uncompleted 2.0 book from a completely seperate zone (chambersb) which you can get to by hailing any epic vendor.

Each level (except levels 1 and 6) drop armor cards. Collect 4 of the same armor card and turn them into the card collector in Nexus for your LDON gear. Each level has specific armor cards that drop. For example I believe boots and gloves drop from level 2. I do not remember every levels gear drop off the top of my head perhaps someone else could fill this bit in.

I may be wrong here so someone correct me if im mistaken - but I believe the Kings Chest (your Breastplate or FG/CG cards) are the only cards that have a chance of dropping on levels 2-5 but are primarily dropped in level 5.

Another quirk is that the first time you progress from level 5 to level 6 everyone in your group must hand a stone of decent to the gatekeeper as he will only port you up individually but also give you a key so you can skip right to level six in the future.

Level six is the primary source for charm upgrades although they have a small chance of dropping on all the lower levels except 1. I will not explain charms as there are multiple threads with how they work.

There is also a point system in LDON which you can purchase armor cards or charm upgrades. 10 point coin drop randomly off all the trash mobs in LDON. Each boss will drop one 50 point coin and you can sell armor cards back to the NPC in the nexus for 1/10 the amount you can purchase them for.

That should be enough to stumble your way through the first time.

Point being - camping the spawn isnt really your only option for your first time though.

In case you missed it.

250k was a number that just popped into my head. And because it wasnt a realistic price I threw in the above quoted text for your reading pleasure.

Even so, you could pay someone 250k for a KD and that person could pay someone to run them through Qvic or get the loot rights that they wanted with that plat. You guys just need to keep your eyes on the prize and dont get distracted by the shiny objects.

Plat is having a come back. Ive seen a few higher geared people asking for Plat for qvic runs/loot rights. So you just need to bridge the gap. Pay someone 250k for a KD and Id be willing to bet they could use that plat to get what they wanted (loot rights and such).

Point being - camping the spawn isnt really your only option for your first time though.

Personally I dont think getting your charm lvl25 is all to important in progressing to Qvic. I think the majority of people end up going back to farm them up.

Like in all things you cant make everybody happy Cheesy

I didnt specify in my earlier post but if they were made to drop off each progressing zone (Qvic, Tacvi and the tiers) I would hope the bosses in LDON 6 would get a drop rate just as undesireable as the trash.

This way people who are able to pull large amounts of trash could find charm upgrades quicker by killing qvic bosses than they could in LDON at all. This would leave LDON to the newer players and provide another area where helping others could benefit higher players.

By the By: As much as a change like this would be convenient and nice, I dont think the problem is large enough to warrant the amount of work and time it would take to fix it. When you get down to it this doesnt hinder anyones progression.

What are they complaining about? For the most part if someone is camping for Charms they let nearly everything else rot and allow passing noobs to loot.

As I worked through LDON 6 I found the only thing to complain about was if the higher levels were there clearing the trash 1/4 of the zone at a time - I could easily be making my way to one of the bosses and find the entire room spawn on my head.

However, the only solution to this problem would be to remove the desire for high end players to be there at all.

I like the idea of increasing chances of charm drops on the bosses of each progressing zone and would go so far as to say make the drop off trash in LDON 6 low enough to be undesireble to farm for.

Perhaps through some reverse engineering I can disable my filter!

Finally!! I can sit at the grown-ups table!

Perhaps its an issue with coding - one of those things we just have to tolerate because fixing it is probably more trouble than playing the pet dance.

"Well the big pet is 240k, meaning it can actually tank mobs that many warriors can't at that level. That's a nice ability to have..."

Well that is nice and all - but still doesnt explain the logic of having an ENC pet that cant buff you when a useless minion can be summoned to do just that.

My expectation would be all usefull pets should be able to buff their master. Its a perk of being guilded.

If it wasnt intended I would be interested to know the logic behind it.

Ya that definitely is an instance of very very very very bad luck. I did my own guild instance this weekend and only used it for about 14 hours. In this time i got the following

8 - SSOY (got 4 in a row)
5 - FBSS
6 - Exec Axe
5 - Mith 2 hander (stooped camping these because i hated running back to the camp)
7 - SMRs
7 - LBS

The Buffs arent different, but they are more convenient as you can get them in the zone that you are instancing.

While killing in PoTime - Rather than porting back to Surefall/Nexus and hailing the buff bot. Then porting back into PoTime. Then Zoneing into your instance. You can just buy the buffs from the waypoint npc in the zone you are killing in for a mere 70pp.
