I haven't played on ez server in a while. I had some file sharing requests coming in for these. Looks like Google had broken the links in the original post. I updated the links so anyone should be able to access.

I have only verified they can download again for everyone. If there have been any changes that have caused these to not work let me know on Discord as I don't check here.
2  General Category / Suggestions / Re: HOT BUTTON: Buff Level Restrictions and ROA/SOA/UW/Aug Level Requirements on: April 04, 2016, 02:01:48 am
I would like to clarify that my experiences with the vets have been exceptional overall and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Recently though the atmosphere in the community seems to have darkened and grown hostile. That atmosphere is what I was saying can drive people away. You guys are awesome, let's just blaze and chill or at the very least keep it to a civil discord in specific on topic threads like this and not across the forums, in ooc all day, flooding hate's email, etc.  Grin

For the record I do not disagree with the level restrictions for items. I do however think buff level restrictions would be terrible. I believe buffs fill an integral part of the game design. They create an oscillation. Highs when you have them and lows when you don't. While steadily trending up through item/tier progression.

I would suggest decreasing the duration of super long buffs like Ancestral Honor 9 instead of putting in level restrictions on them. Increasing the frequency of the oscillation instead of reducing the amplitude below the threshold of perception.

I would just like to point out that as the veterans that have been raging on these issues and demanding everything that doesn't apply to them be made harder and take longer, they are actively steering people away from the server. Since this shitstorm hit I have had far less desire to play. All the rage and QQ has been exhausting. They act as if the 100's of hours I and other newer players have put in are meaningless, how dare we be progressing. How dare it not take as long as when they progressed and were waiting on each new tier to be developed. How dare there be any differences from the experience they had 6 years ago. I know this isn't everyone's intention, but it is the end result. This is an unrealistic expectation of any MMO which is by definition a dynamic and changing environment. Furthermore, I believe a speed differential over time is a necessity for any aging online community. Just because someone hasn't been along for the journey since the beginning, doesn't mean they can't be made a valuable part of it moving forward. Look at virtually any MMO that hasn't shutdown and has been around for an extended period of time. The experience of the veterans will almost undoubtedly have been longer and more difficult then new players. Why? Because new blood is vital to any community without it the community will wither and die.

While balance may need to be tuned, kneejerk reactions at the point of the pitchforks of an angry mob is not an ideal solution. Changes should be weighed carefully and tested. Some veterans should try creating a new group with zero assistance from their other toons or anyone else and progress. Still think leveling up a fresh group is so quick and easy? Document your experience. Maybe there are somethings that are no duh to you that are unknown to others and that is why there is this divide in perception between those currently working in the lower tiers and those wanting it nerfed. Just remember there is still tons and tons and tons of grind on the server.  No need to try and burn people out on the low tiers.

This is just my two cents on the matter. I just wanted to express my point of view from the other side of the wall.

That side being a newer player of a 6 man group.
/played time 53 days (1,272 hours) I get pulled away a lot so let's say somewhere between 50%-75% actually playing that's 636-954 hours.
Working on T5, Group has their 4.5 epics, Strike Augs, Finishing UC's, RoAs 299-374, SoA 10, and Just got first UW1 on War.

In summary the pitchfork wielding mob needs to chill and Hate needs to make the changes he feels are best in his own time and not be rushed.
4  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Private Login Server on: April 02, 2016, 02:36:39 pm
The main benefit to this would seem to be not having the server number change all the time. Instead of dealing with secondary login servers why don't we try to come up with a solution to the eqemu login server. We are after all in the uniquely advantageous position of having an eqemu dev and it would be a solution that benefited the larger eqemu community as a whole.

Akkadius can you think of a way we could fix this issue in the login server? Maybe a way to lease a specific number that way if a server went down permanently it could be reused but not list on reboot?

EDIT: Just found out that the EQEMU login server is a different codebase from the open source login server available on github. So i retract my previous statement a private login server sounds great.

Glad to hear it.

Thanks for this!

If you could, see about adding space to the "Backstab Dmg 600"? Saw rogue's epic aug and it was overlapping each other.

Could you post a screenshot so I can see what you are referring to?

I there a way to make it adjust based off what is being displayed in general? Sometimes I get annoyed when holding right lick on an item for example and have to scroll down to see a clicky or something.

Not to my knowledge, but I just tweak XML files, I am not an EQUI modder. I cut down on the unnecessary white space between stat name and value on the updated file where as on the first version i just made each column further away from the previous column.

There is still whitespace with simple items, but not as much.Large stat items display much better, but with less padding now.

I didn't like the amount of wasted space before. I reworked it to display the large values without taking up so much space and making the sheet look bad for normal items.

Here's the updated file:

Please test it out and see if it displays everything properly for you.  This is for RoF2 client. Once I get some feedback I will update the OP.

Thanks Chieftain, I updated the OP to include your UF version. Thanks Hate for the sticky.  Wink

Updated EQUI_ItemDisplay.xml for handling large values on items in ezServer.

There are two versions. The first was just widened to allow for the numbers to not clip the next column. The next version had lots of changes to padding to fit the data with less white space. See the examples below.

I saw people complaining about getting scammed by him in OOC today. While experienced players learn to avoid this moron new players will still fall victim. Allowing known scammers to run free is bad for the server. His account should be deleted and all accounts accessed by the IP addresses that accessed that account should be deleted. Those IP addresses should be banned for the next couple weeks until they have likely been recycled.

To Samuel_Denton:

Whether you participated in the scamming or not you still knowingly reaped the benefits and are just as guilty.

I would also like to point out trying to read your writing is just painful. If English isn't your first language, I apologize and kudos to you for working on learning multiple languages. If English is your first language, hopefully the admins will ban you like I suggested above. You would at least have more time to take an English class, the world and the English language will be grateful.
