1  General Category / General Discussion / Are WARs and PALs OP? Vote away!!! on: December 04, 2010, 04:55:13 pm
Now let me make it CLEAR that I don't want nor expect things to change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me ALSO make it CLEAR that the point of the poll is NOT a poll about nerfing these classes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just simply asking: As is, are both of these classes OP and do they make other classes NOT viable?  I am simply curious as to the common opinion of whether others also think/feel they are OP or not.

Also feel free to comment all you want but please vote! Cheesy
2  General Category / Suggestions / Re: City of Mist guild-instance? on: November 16, 2010, 06:19:01 pm
I'd rather see a couple public instances like pofire rather than guild instances, than the people that want to loot the gems can still get access to them. Paying 1k to loot 15k worth of gems is worth it.  Now how they know if there is 15k in the instance or not, I don't know  Shocked

I see tons of sexual, lude or vulgar remarks in /ooc all the time.  I occasionally play with my kids on this server and thankfully they don't read the chat but it's only a matter of time.  And unfortunately some of it is by some of the more well-known characters on the server.  It's like /ooc has become their personal "chat channel" and it can get quite vulgar and offensive at times.

Should I be taking screenshots and posting them for bans?  Is a screenshot of the chat channel enough for a ban?

I also agree that something rotting is better looted then letting it rot, hence I /ooc LOTS of my rots if they are in public.

BUT, I understand and agree with the rule because it enforces simple respect.  You may not be able to kill stuff Boneman and you may be more hungry, then really what you should do is be more respectful and ask.  Nobody is saying you won't be able to loot rots anymore, you just need to ask.  And if you are REALLY so hungry, asking should be a minor inconvenience really, else I don't believe you are as hungry as you say you are and times aren't as tough as you make them out to be.

Saying you disagree with the rules is fine, but while I in principle disagree with the rule, I understand it.  My question is when is the last time ANYONE on the server said "No, you can't loot my rots, let it rot!"  EVERYTIME you ask usually the answer is either "No, my alt/friend/whoever is coming" or "Go ahead!"

All the rest of us seem to understand that you simply just ask and there is no problem.  You seem to be caught up with saying you are too lazy or disrespectful to ask.  And nobody here on the forums ever said stuff rotting HAS to rot! Just ASK!

Yes, dual 3.0s. With 3.0s you have at least 2k regen and an 1100 damage shield, which enables you to pull a fair amount of mobs.  Toss in a druid epic heal (6k for mine with oracle and focus of healing) and you have quite the PLer.

But before you have a warrior with anger augs, and before you are 3.0d with a bard, or any other class.  Really the best PLers for pofire are pet classes imo.  My brother was using my beastlord for RoA before we ever made my bard or had 3.0s for that matter.  The better the pet, the easier obviously. It's not the 10 to 15 minute PL of a war but it gets the job done.

Funny, you assume it's the warrior that does the RoAing...I use the bard both for 1-47 and for pofire.  And in fact, I think a bard can out DPS a warrior, although I'll probably get plenty of hate for saying so.

I have timed it and to do 2 toons simultaneously (my beast and warrior) from 1-70 it takes about 45-50 minutes.  And that's competing for pulls in public pofire.  So that's only 20-25 minutes per toon! I am counting time from when I turn in rings, buffing, porting, etc, until I ding 70 on both toons.  For one, I don't think warriors can do it much faster than that (20-25min per toon) and for two, this is with a bard with ONLY 26k hps AFTER a 10k shaman buff.

The inherent problem overall is the anger augs make warriors the obvious choice for PLing, farming charms in LDON, etc.  And everyone ALWAYS gears out the warriors the best too.  I'd be interested to see what a bard could do with similar gear as all these warriors, but alas, everyone is stuck in the war/pal rut to ever find out.

But we've digressed from the original topic...

Thanks for all the information.

I interestingly enough have war/pal/clr/bst as my main 4 box.  Now you might laugh at the bst but it is my main always has been and always will be.  I'll quit the server before I give up on my beast, meaning if the content is so biased that a beast can't hang, unfortunately I will part ways with EZ.  So be it, my time was enjoyable either way.

I don't intend to be in T2 until I have ALL pieces from T1 on my toons (including a ranger/bard/druid/and maybe shaman), and lots of Fallen Lord's stuff (including some unity/war pieces I've purchased).  I actually enjoy the "collecting" aspect of it, as long as stuff keeps dropping that makes my toons better.  My shaman is even full tacvi geared even though all she is is a buff bot!  I try to enjoy playing rather than playing all the time to get ahead, even if it takes me a little longer.

So while I'm not opposed to creating a 2nd warrior for off tanks, I'll go until I am forced to do so.  In the meantime my beast can tank qvic/tacvi bosses as he's been spoiled more than the ordinary boxing beastlord, I doubt anyone else on the server has a RoA rank 45 on a beastlord eh?  Often when my party wipes, my beastlord finishes off the hoard and is the only one surviving! Ha!

Anyway, again very thankful for the information, always nice to know what to expect even if I do just end up wiping which is likely the case, so be it!  Lots of T1 to do still, I've barely wet my appetite and already my warrior has 7 of her 8 armor pieces!  Starting to gear my pally and enjoying the ride!

One more question about T1 vs T2.  Are the T2 bosses much harder than T1, excluding the adds?  I think the adds are a minor nuisance for my group where I could off tank them but a couple times on shai hulud I had some close calls if I missed a heal or whatever. And thanks in advance.

Wow, very cool!  I guess I was not the only recipient of Fineus's awesomeness.

Blinded by his awesomeness..."He's too awesome!"  Wink

Interestingly enough an event like Halloween 2010 show everyone's true colors.  Whether you are nice or a jerk, happy to share or selfish, a ninja looter or work for your own, etc.

I personally wanted to give a shout out to a couple of supremely classy players that really showed respect for me in the zones I was in and overall kept the "crappiness" to a minimum for me.

(In time order, not priority)

First to those that spent Saturday in citymist (Ashar et al, etc), was nice of you guys to share your rots.  My kids had a blast looting all the gems just lying around and it really made their day.  It was a little thing but thanks! (And yes they got permission to loot before looting, no ninja looting at my house!) Also, it was nice of a couple of you to share some simple pets and illusions with them too, it really made for a fun event for them!

2nd to Uxtalon, you rock!  When I spawned that CT in podisease you endlessly helped to get it down, I will always be appreciative everytime I cast my CT pet! WOOT!

3rd to Fineus, aka batman.  How cool was it for you to jump around for hours to help down CTs and your willingness to share the loot when clearly most players couldn't take them down themselves.  Classy if you ask me!  And of course for helping down CT in podisease too.  Still amazed you and Uxt let me have all the loot...you guys rock!

4th Red Dawn, all of you.  Was cool that you'd help with CTs in unrest and not expect ANY of the loot, but take whatever leftovers were offered.  I would've loved to have shared most of my loot with you, if I only could have spawned a CT...so many candies....

5th Can't forget Hunter, for the great event!  Something about the randomness of it all that was addictive, I stayed on WAY too late both nights for my own good.
