General Category / Sticky Topics / Re: EZ Server Rules

It's simple. New people: Read the damn rules. Interpret them as you will, if you interpreted them wrong you'll get called out on it. Honestly the banning thing is all bark no bite until someone personally tells Hunter, which usually occurs around the second or third warning. You do have a bit of room for mistakes but believe it or not it IS all about common sense in the first place. If you do make a mistake, listen to them or leave the server if you don't like it. EZ will be fine with one less person and there are millions of other servers for you to play on, because fighting back is gonna make you look more pathetic than Rosie O'Donell's entire career. And to everyone else: You don't have to be Hunter's white knights. If someone's ignorant and insists on fighting back just let it drop and move the hell on. It's a waste if your time as much as it is Hunter's. It's as much your fault as it is the idiots that started the fight that this thread has gone on for 11 pages now and every last one of them pointless. tl;dr pay attention to rules, let idiots go and don't drag shit out. Kk time to leave this thread.

You can not two the first, because in are server. PoG you. Need your T2 breastplate to go there.
Also GoD is mostly empty on EZ unless custom (AKA Qvic/Tacvi). It's a custom server, stick to custom content. You want Legit content PEQ is that way ----->

Listen
Do you guys really think I am here to loot your corpses? You are wrong on so many levels. Unfortunately I can only barely address one.
Kill your mob. Loot the corpse. Please understand where I am coming from. If you kill it and let it rot...

Have you downloaded and installed the server donloads?
Not downloading the files wouldn't make you lag, in fact it would reduce lag as many of the models would show up as humans.

Something wonky here...
Went to mapfiend.net. Downloaded EQ (basic) and Kunark map packs. Unzipped them and did the copy replace routine into c:\ProgramFiles/Sony/Everquest/Maps as I have done many times (back in the live days), but I still have no map for Mistmoor, Trak's Teeth, Seb etc...
I even copied them into \Atlas and the base Everquest directory. Still no maps.
I just wonder if it has anything to do with loadskin? When I first started playing EMU I ran the /loadskin velious and switched back to default eventually when I came to EZ. /shrug lost at this point and sure could use some of those maps to reach the "hard to get to", "can't remember where the heck that invis door is" kind of places.
Anyone have a hint?
Thanks
The Atlas and EQ directory has nothing to do with the maps. The Atlas is where the graphic files and .xmls for the Norrath view map is for the Atlas tab (That allows you to click on the continent to bring up a zone specific map from anywhere) and the base directory holds the zone files, npc files, object files, weapon files, .exes, .dlls and various other assorted files but not maps. /loadskin deals with base UI changes not maps. I'm assuming you were in these zones when you updated them from Mapfiend? Open the map and click the "Current" button to reload the map from the client.

I really hate to do this, and not to be a dick, but how many times does this have to be posted? Where did you get SoD? If you got it from Steam, you actually have Underfoot, and it is not completely supported by the emulator.
Sounds like someone is running the Underfoot expansion of steam not SOD ....
That was my thought to Like i said bro no offense, but please ensure you're correct before making a statement that can completely destroy the reputation of a client like that one can. SoD is fine, and honestly the sooner EQEmu players drop Titanium the better. Anyway in regard to Underfoot. It sounds to me bro that you bought "SoD" off Steam recently. That's not SoD that's Underfoot. I know it says SoD but actually the two clients for purchase on Steam are the exact same, the only difference is the price and the CD keys for expansion access you get from the purchase. Since we don't use CD keys obviously that fact is void. Underfoot is actually coming along quite nicely. Tbh once it's fully up and running you'll hear me say how much better it is than SoD... and it will be . But atm it still has a few bugs. Two examples of which are a couple bugs with the spell file and AAs. You can see my post not even 3 posts up for a link to the development of the client. If you want SoD you HAVE to Torrent it now. Inb4 "Don't talk about that, Torrents are bad news ". It's honestly not as big a deal as you guys think, but i'm gonna respect Hunter's wishes anyway and not post a link. However if you want a link to the Torrent PM me... You can load into game and I have not physically tested anything short of loading in and not seeing any buff icons and getting shot across a zone or in the air when hailing a buff bot. As it stands now Underfoot is not supported by EQEMU as of yet.
I have SoF and SoD client's , SoF works just fine but using the SoD client buffs don't show up and upon hailing the buff bot it shoots you across the zone 20k dmg. Any ideas in getting this client to work? btw this is the correct steam version compatible with EMU.
No it isn't. Just by what you said i can already tell you're running Underfoot. You must have just recently bought SoD off Steam correct? Yeah that version is actually Underfoot (It SAYS it's SoD because it only flags Live accounts to use up through SoD content on Live, however it has up through Underfoot and is thus an Underfoot client.)Only way to get SoD atm is Torrenting it sadly =/. Hang onto the client though. Underfoot is nearing compatability (as a matter of fact that buff issue should be fixed already, i don't think Hunter has updated source code in awhile.) That's actually the Underfoot client. That client is the exact same as the other client (specified as Underfoot) on Steam, in fact check the "last updated" dates. Exact same day, exact same client. The only difference is the price and the fact that the starter pack only gives you CD keys for Classic-SoD where as the Underfoot pack gives you CD keys for Classic-Underfoot. However all the client files are there and since EQEmu doesn't use CD keys like Live then someone using that client on EQEmu, once it's fully compatible, would have access to Classic-Underfoot content. In short, no it's not SoD, it's Underfoot. The name is deceiving. SOE has updated the steam install of SoD to a date of July 8th, 2010. Users who use this client will experience an issue with the spellfile. The EQEmu team is already notified of this.
If you want a clean SoD install, back it up now. It's possible it won't be supported much longer, and EQEmu will move on to the next client.

`Did you get SoD from Steam?`
no was on an old hdd. eqgame file dates from march 2009
so originally downloaded from soe within a month of release.
Well 1. SoD was released October 2008. So March '09 is well after release. 2. It's the wrong one. You NEED SoD from Steam. Release date: [Wed Oct 13 20:46:01 2010]00000:Starting EverQuest (Built Dec 19 2008 15:22:49)If you think you're running Steam but the first line of "dbg.txt" in the logs folder says anything but what's above then you have the wrong client or you updated/patched. Tbh I find it truly amazing that someone always finds something wrong with the client >.< I've had SoD since a week after it was first made compatible with EQEmu back when it had all sorts of AA errors and such, downloaded it once and never reinstalled never had an error. Only time the client bugged out on me is when I replaced some files with files from Live while testing something. That's not luck. Yet something goes wrong and instead of thinking they did something wrong or got the wrong client people flip out and call it "broken" and revert to another client. "Sigh" We're never gonna be rid of Shitanium. /rant Anyway as I said in another thread sadly the only way to get this client is Torrent now, I won't post a link but if you want it send me a PM.

So I tried SoD today and got it so I can login and all. But when I got back on my warrior I noticed Flurry is missing. Under combat abilities its not listed and if I look under skills I don't see it either.
Also to me thats a big part of the warriors dps early on..
About 18 combat abilities show up as JC - Placeholder (melee revamp) and have the lvl of 255 so you cant use them.
One of them being flurry I'm guessing. So thats tons of dps taken away from the warrior with SoD. Not to mention all of the other classes that are messedup the same way I'm sure.
So in my opinion SoD as it stands it not fully compatible with the current version of EMU.
Really? Because every other server i've been on people play Warriors on SoD with no problems. Even here people play them on SoD with no problems. Also, granted i haven't played a Warrior because i view them to be OP and generic (especially on EZ), however this is the first I have heard of this issue so either you're blowing it out of proportion or there's not actually anything wrong with the client and it's something you did wrong. No offense. P.S. Flurry was actually removed from EQ due to it being OP but the disc was still left on the spell file...with no recast. See here for more details: http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31126So if you ask me it's working as intended and if anything this is good news... it's about damn time something was done to put Warriors in line...
