I was inspired by your offerings. After talking to a friend who does 3D modeling for a living this is what we were able to come up with. If anyone knows how we can save this to a format that is usable by EQ that would be appreciated. I do not know how to fix the width of the image, you're going to have to scroll over. Sorry!

Could this be lag induced? When were you parsing? How many people were online? Do you know how many FPS you were averaging while running the parse? If you were at 20+FPS for the first parse and hovering around 5FPS for the second that would explain the lost DPS.

As far as colo is concerned these were the best prices that I was able to find.

$5/mbit -- 100% Cogent bandwidth. No SLA. Minimum 100mbit order. ($500/month)
$25-45++/mbit -- Blended BGP bandwidth from multiple tier1 providers. Minimum usually 10mbit, but that also put the cost nearer the upper end per mbit. SLA was generally fives 9s.  We would need about 20-25mbit of aggregate bandwidth to handle our current player base plus have some head room for growth.

None of the above options include the charge for rackspace or power. Rackspace is a tricky issue because the case is a mid/full tower configuration. I think I've been told that the server can fit in a 4u chassis. So that would require buying a new case AND being charged around $25-50 per U of space per month.

Sure you can find "deals" by googling "cheep dedicated server/colocation", but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

I don't know if they allow you to just run anything you want on there (ie they may have a problem with emu) and it's probably a moot point anyway if Hunter/etc want direct physical control over the server (it doubles as a space heater ami rite???)

This provider is more for FPS type games. I can offer 100mbit internal and unlimited bandwidth usage on my home network for $10/month. Means nothing. I still only have 10mbit upload to the open internet. Sounds like they have completely oversold themselves from a bandwidth perspective.

SoftLayer is probably the best example of what dedicated hosting with a solid provider costs. 100mbit port (internal) from them runs $100/month and 6TB/month is something like an additional $800/month.

Pretty much every option available has been discussed. Dedicated/Colo is out of Hunter's comfort zone price wise.

You can get 50/10 cable plans here for $190/mo (Comcast business class).

Can get a managed 100mb uplink server for half that.
Mind you the hardware would be leased, but, thats not the issue currently.

I don't know of any provider that sells an unmetered 100mbit port for 100/month. There are some providers that will sell 100mbit ports for that much, but you then pay per TB per month. There is also power to consider. Most colo places charge $150/15 amps per month.

Dragon Armor and necklaces weren't 100% drop chances.  The level 57+ dragons had less on their loot table and dropped specific pieces up to Matchless quality.  Those are what you want to be hunting.

You are comparing Apples to Oranges by saying that you've not done finished the UC but you know it's a pain in the butt. In that example you have seen everything required to do the UC, you just haven't finished it. You can calculate about how long it will take you to farm four charms to 25 in LDoN. You know how long it will take you to get the Cyan stones required to make your 50 charms. So in that example you know exactly what it will take for you to complete the UC.

That said, you and your guild have not spawned The MCP. Therefore any comments by you on it's difficulty is purely speculative. I've also noticed that a good portion of your speculation is based on inaccurate information. Yes, FoH has put 20+ people in airplane to down The MCP. It just so happens that we had that many people in the zone because that is who happened to be online when we decided we were going to kill some mobs. After you've tried the mob a couple of times then you can intelligently comment on it's difficulty.

There are three guilds on this server that could down The MCP if they took the time to farm the stones and learn the fight. Forbidden Prophecy, Rising of Light and Bastions of Honor.

Monk/Monk/Monk/Monk/Pal/Bard is the highest DPS group on the server.  Only War/War/War/Pal/Clr/Clr would come close.  Not many people have enough tanks to make a pure Warrior based DPS group.

As much as I'd hate to see HoHA clogged up, there are four or five guilds on this server that could do the 4.0 boss.  That only two have bothered to spawn it is immaterial.  Farm up four purples, be prepared to lose the first three.  By the fourth I am sure that FP and BoH will have downed The MCP.

You can't go wrong with any of the following combinations.

War/War/War/Clr/Clr/Clr(Pal): Will seem very weak until you start getting Anger augs.  You won't die, but you will kill very slowly.

War/War/Clr/Clr(Pal)/Rng/Mnk
War/War/Clr/Clr(Pal)/Mnkx2 or Rngx2: two rangers beat out two monks until you get your T4 monk spell.

War/War/Pal/Pal/Pal/Bard: Not as stable as if you had a cleric in place of one Paladin, but 5 melee benefitting from bard songs would rip through stuff in short order.

Are you beginning to sense a pattern here?

Sohami: You might have some difficulty with Kronos in T2 without a warrior.  It all depends on how willing you are to RoA up your SK and if you can split Kronos from his adds.  A high Oracle charm on the SK helps a lot too.
