Pretty much all of the AAs are helpful one way or another. Hard to say specifically which made a difference. By the time I had spent enough time in LDoN to get the master key and the first 8 pages, plus farmed a couple of charm upgrades, I had lots of AAs and suddenly DS was a winnable, though slow, fight.

Tylo, you were so right, a massive improvement with Oracle charm - thanks.

Alrazor, you can target Najena through the door with /tar Naj.

Send your pet then dismiss it after it engages, then she will come after you through the door.

Correction re druids:

I wish it was a dot. It's an AE nuke which is probably the worst possible thing I could want. The last thing you want to do on an overpull is have your boxed druid pull the extras. Druid epic needs a serious review.

Question re boxing a rogue - don't you have to be mashing backstab every tick to make it worthwhile?

I'm finding warrior tanking adequate so far up to the Qvic level with a paladin to duo with. That's assuming I don't pull more than 3 at once. I've only tackled a couple of the bosses so far though, and there will no doubt be rockier times ahead.

AAs solved my biggest problem to date - Dragonslave - and after I got my 1.5s the 2.0s and 2.5s were easily accomplished.

This is without any RoA levels,  zero charm upgrade on the paladin and Guardian charm #3 on the warrior, so there is plenty more character development for me to pursue before I add a cleric or another paladin.

I haven't, but guess what, today it works fine again. /facepalm

Suddenly I can't get past the server select screen without crashing.

I either get

a) CTD with no error message
b) dialogue box telling me eqgame.exe encountered a problem
c) dialogue box with error in your GUI XML files. Check your UIErrors.txt file - and checking that file it tells me the file was created on Monday 19 June and no other information

I have several EQ folders, one for each character, and none of them are working all of a sudden. I could understand if one of them had a corrupted file but all of them? Makes me think a fresh install wouldn't necessarily help.

Any thoughts?

Just to chip in that indeed, war/pal works well at least for a while and with mercs (wiz/sham) I duo'd dragon slave. Quillmane was much easier.

I must admit, I did fail at dragon slave consistently until I got my dps AA's sorted out, but I bumped those up whilst getting LDoN loot, so those early failures weren't a big frustration.

I did get help with DS and Quill one evening (thanks again Everwes) and of course the Rollback Monster kicked me in the goolies....but at least I can now bask in the satisfied glow of self-sufficiency.

I guess I need some education about the epics; maybe there is a summary of the various effects on them, preferably with some discussion on using them.

So far I have paladin figured out - group heal which improves with 1.5. It is really nice. Some of the healing adept AAs improve it, some are bugged and don't.

Druid - well I'm disappointed with that as an AE targetted nuke just pulls all the mobs onto the druid. Situational use I guess, does anyone quad-kite in the custom zones here?.

Warrior - having extra aggro is nice although BoT/Time looted weapons are way better for damage/delay. The 1.5 has an extra 600 group HP buff, so I'll switch it in and out of my bags for the clicky.

And that's the extent of my knowledge such as it is. Would like to be pointed to a link to read more, or read it here.

Is the macro described above, where you order a separate character to perform an action (buff/heal/debuff) legal? I've avoided trying it so far - just using m for the map and various /stick commands.

- only that the hp augs available for free weren't that big of a deal so 170 total aug regen from 17 augs was my preference.

1. I reached the FG at last, and the trainer says he pushed my skills up to 400. However my skills page insists my skills are still in the 200s. Display bug? Titanium client.

2. Is there a regen cap? I just aug'd everything in sight with +10 regen augs.

3. Any reason a paladin would want to do the CG quest?

4. Any benefit to joining the FG i.e. getting the guild tag?

What's the ultimate reward for this after handing in the Vah Shir illusion and one illusionist card?

At the end of LDoN5 my map suggests the gatekeeper shares a room with a boss.

Is it necessary to kill the boss or can I hand over the descent stone whilst aggro?

Also, does handing in my stone grant access to all levels of LDoN or do I need to hail him and have a chat?
