General Category / General Discussion / Re: Progression Question

My suggestion is to complete FG/CG for your entire team before attempting to progress further. This is imperative to surviving Qvic and beyond. FG access also grants you an instant cast resurrect stone (from the FG vendor). So if you do lose a toon or two, rezzing them back in is painless.

Reed, quit confusing him. Lol...
The easiest answer is that you can't go to Loping Plains on this server. You can't get the armor you are looking for on this server. I don't even know why you'd want it. The gear you can obtain on this server just by following the CUSTOM progression is vastly superior. Just forget about it...
To do what you are wanting to do, you need to build your own server. Visit the EQEmu website to learn more about how to do that...

You could argue that actively policing the OOC and advocating for a strict OOC language policy be enforced is their way of ensuring that their kids are not exposed to filthy language. I'm just saying that if your argument is against the parents not doing enough, then don't disregard that the parents who are voicing their opinion aren't doing just what you are suggesting they should do.

General Category / General Discussion / Re: EZ Server now supports SoD Client!
|

For clarification ... "supported" only means that you can connect to, and play on, the server with that particular client. However, EZ server does not give you access to the zones and content from beyond Titanium at the moment. Those zones are locked and can not be accessed. Hunter has made it clear that he wants EZ's content to be available to Titanium users, therefore, adding custom content that uses the SoD expansion zones would dis-include Titanium users. So don't expect to see the ability to access any SoD content in the near future.

It may be hard to understand, but both sides of this issues are correct. Follow the rules, or suffer the consequences. We, the players, must police our server to ensure quality and maintain standards that keep EZ enjoyable.
But there has got be a line drawn where the "police" are just plain harassing people, as opposed to benefiting the server.
I think in some delusional mindset, some people enjoy being the tattletale and feel like they are justified in harassing people. Honestly, the rules are there for a reason, and we all know that. We know it's to ensure a fair, and level, playing field and to keep our server clean of "trash" in many forms.
But seriously, 11 mobs and people jump all over it? How many hours do some of us log on EZ? 5 hours a day? 8 hours? 30 hours a week? Gosh, I can't imagine accomplishing UC, or whatever else we do all day, without making a single, accidental, mindless mistake, of the likes of pulling an extra mob or two. It happens and I think is completely fair to understand. Expecting people to count each and every mob every single time they clear a room in LDoN is a bit ludicrous. If it looks like 10, then it's 10. If it looks like 30, then it's probably 30. We can't expect everyone to be perfect, all the time. I think we would all benefit from allowing people to have the benefit of the doubt. I'm not suggesting allowing excessive rule-breakers free range to do what they want, but give some people a break.
Honestly, all these unnecessary issues are wasting Hunter's time. Don't get me wrong, I want to see rule-breakers pay the price. Especially in regards to foul language (in mediation, of course). But seriously, can we cut some slack and have some fun and learn to communicate like adults? If you have to follow someone for an hour and a half just so you can FRAPS them for pulling 11 mobs, in all likelihood on accident, then I think you are the kind of player I'd rather not have on the server, as opposed to the one who made a mistake. I mean, seriously, the rule was placed to ensure fairness (and zone-stability). Are you really that upset over 1 mob (or hell, 5 for that matter) that you feel justified?
I don't normally jump out and voice an opinion on such subjects, but I have to say that if we can't all play nice together, then we need to find a nice, quiet, single player game to play and we only have ourselves to be upset at if we think something isn't fair.

I don't think anyone was asking for what you are implying, and simply wanted a re-think of the cost involved in FG/CG instances. I think that's pretty damn fair. I guess the point I was trying to make was that, no matter what, you will not be able to please everyone. I guess it did seem a bit rant-like but that was not my intention. I was actually hoping Hunter would see it and outfit my toons with all the best gear! LOL! Just kidding! I appreciate the civility in your response. I agree with you, though, there's no pleasing everyone. I think that's why open forum discussions are important to help see all sides and cases to make fair compromises.

Bottom line is, if FG/CG quests seem too boring... EZ is not for you. Because it's not even 1% of the boredom induced by later content (wink wink t3/t4). The only things people have a problem with is the WAITING for the items. Unfortunately, this is a simple fact of playing the game. Everyone wants instant gratification. If we were not invest time into the game then Hunter would just put everything on the Newbie Vendor and be done with it. What is the point then of having quests at all and just let everyone into every area automatically at level 1. Might as well ask Hunter go ahead and gear up our toons with all the best gear and let us take on T5 now. Might be a tad over-reacting there.... I don't think anyone was asking for what you are implying, and simply wanted a re-think of the cost involved in FG/CG instances. I think that's pretty damn fair.

General Category / Suggestions / Re: Ice Strike vs Fire Strike Augs

I wouldn't be opposed to new dropped augs for all classes, to be honest, but they would need to be far inferior to crafted, regardless of 1her or 2her. We're talking somewhere in the range for 25-30% effective. The cost of the crafted augs should give them the "elite" status of having that huge boost over dropped augs. Just my opinion...
Back to the topic at hand, however...
There needs to be a re-envisioning the crafted augment components (and their costs) for 1h classes to make up for the imbalance in cost to fully augment a dual-wielding class as compared to a 2h class (especially since 2h classes see double the DPS for half the augments). I generally like a brainstorm of new ideas, but I don't want to lose the original purpose of this post in all of these suggestions that don't exactly tie into the spirit of the message. I'm sure others would agree that this should be a priority to help bring dual-wielding classes up to speed with knights and warriors.
