1  General Category / Updates / Re: Waypoint Instances Updated on: October 28, 2011, 05:34:17 pm
Are guild instance as buggy as group instances?

I'm in my group, as group leader, in an instance.  I leave the instance, then create a waypoint to immediately enter again.  No option "Enter Group Instance".

I've dealt with the limitations of group instances before, but this was the first time where I didn't LD/crash/log off, left the instance, and couldn't re-enter the instance.  A beautiful waste of 50k.

I'm still not guilded because I haven't yet asked Hunter to create one for me, but it clearly seems that the extra 50k spent on a guild instance would be a tremendously valuable insurance payment to ensure that the instance suddenly doesn't become unavailable.

So, the question is, do guild instances have the same problems/limitations as group instances?

Will these zones be considered Custom for the duration of the event (except fearplane), or is training allowed?

4  General Category / Suggestions / Item graphics -- Ideas, changes, proposals, etc. on: October 26, 2011, 11:02:24 pm
I'm very much aware that it's rude to suggest changes based on personal opinion, but, eh, I want to anyway.

I'm not sure if you're aware of the program, Hunter, but I've discovered a nifty little application that allows you to view many items in the game.  The only way I knew how to view any item was to summon it in game as a GM, but with this I don't have to create a private server just for item viewing, nor does anyone else.

http://www.georgestools.eqemulator.net/weapon_encyclopedia.zip

I think everyone should have a look at this, just to see what it's like.

My personal gripe was the monk 3.0 epic weapon being a spiked mace.  Of all the graphics, a spiked mace?  They're supposed to be !EPIC! weapons, looking awesome with super pizazz and stuff.  Spiked maces just will not do.

Epic 2.0 weapons begin at 307.

Flaming fists at 838.

More fists at 847.  Some amazing.

(And pumpkin (HALLOWEEN!) weapon textures at 1145.  I need not explain.)

I'm not sure if the item number regarding the images is the same in as the item number in the database.  I'm also not sure what database EZ server uses, and so some weapon graphics might not be in the game.  In any case, I think this is an interesting application to see item graphics, and hopefully there will be some suggestions as to some changes to some of the unfortunately ugly X.X epic weapons.

I'd appreciate if you, Hunter, could find out what is the extent of your database's item graphics, and let us/me know, so we would know what item graphics we could choose, and what item graphics currently are unavailable.  The items in the viewer are presented by expansion, if I am not mistaken.  It's easy to identify where Luclin begins, where PoP begins, where GoD, OoW, beings, etc.  The SoF items are already pointed out in orange text, it would appear.  So while not an exact science for the rest, it's not too difficult to induce a particular weapon graphic with its expansion, and figure out if that weapon graphic is in the database or not.

And if anything, custom weapons off the T4 Halloween boss with a pumpkin graphic would be freaking ridiculously awesome, wouldn't it?  Name them after me please  Wink

Has anyone played, or even logged into that server?

I can't get over how polished that server is.

First 30 seconds left me with an incredible first impression.

Though, you can't really mass box without paying a fee, so it does have downsides.

If i went to work and found out that we would get points for certain things i would run by the cubicles every morning screaming about how we needed to stay out of the whelps or i would get a 50DKP minus, But it wouldnt stop me from shooting my stapler across the hall claiming i was Dps.
I would run around with permanent marker, poking everyone and everything with it, screaming "More dots".

All in all, these sort of things always seemed slightly patronizing to me.

Quote from: Thebone
Why is everyone crying?? This is was it was at long ago. All you people that started with this 10k and 20k zones need to feel how hard it was for us old timers...

Get over it or get gone

You got to do what ever it takes to get by.

Like I said in my first post of 3 when I first started there was only a handfull of zones that could even have a instance and they were 100k each.

Try farming a UC with only PUB ldons and sharing the zone with 10 other people

You are complaining about something Alot of us lived. Read the post where I explain to you ways of making money and see how easy you still have it.

Quote from: HateborneHunter, I hate to say it...but thank you.

To the cry babies: Get over. Try farming up crap when instances DID NOT EXIST. Then your tears were valid. Oh and if you are feeling particularly hardcore, try when the charm drop rate was half of what it is now (yes bosses used to have 50% chance, but they were all permacamped).

To those who have seen the paragraph above: GAME ON BITCHES!

-Hate[/quote

Back in my day we would grind up hill both ways with no instances and we were dang happy to have a ruby drop every 9th kill, These young whippersnappers would complain if you squashed there toon with a 5.0 dropping out of the sky.

One step forward, half a step back.

And if you can't patch to live (as I can't, since I'm not currently subscribed) you can obtain the missing files from Titanium.

[edit]  Speaking of, is there any way to patch EQ without being subscribed, or is that kind of talk not allowed here?  I do own EQ legally.

6gb of what?  I assume you have Underfoot and not Titanium, but Titanium is only 3gb.

I suppose I could do this, but I'd still recommend anyone on EqEmu to have both Titanium + a more recent client, and if you have both you could easily transfer the files yourself.

Just saying.  But anyway, I suppose a downloadable package would facilitate things for new/"lazy" users.
12  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Unknown DB String Paladin Class AA on: October 05, 2011, 03:32:56 pm
you missed the qualifier....to get pgt in Highpass.

The zone Highpass doesn't exist in SoD, so they moved the mob.  But if you have Titanium, he's still in Highpass.  I can only assume that he is less camped in that zone, so Appren keeps Titanium handy whenever he needs a PGT and hopes to avoid buying an instance.

You can add/replace the SoD/Underfoot zone files with Titanium ones.  For example, with Underfoot BoThunder didn't work for me.  I had to copy over missing Titanium files to make it work.  It's also the same thing they did on P99, if I am not mistaken.

I was thinking I could do the same thing with Lay on Hands, but even if I could locate the file and replace it, it's not in the database, and so it wouldn't work unless Hunter or some other Dev makes the change serverside too.
13  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Unknown DB String Paladin Class AA on: October 05, 2011, 10:15:57 am
And it appears to be all server-side.  How freaking unfortunate.

Do you know which client is best to run with EZ Server, or at least which is more compatible?  I'm assuming Titanium, but the newer clients also have their pluses.
14  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Unknown DB String Paladin Class AA on: October 04, 2011, 05:14:27 pm
Apparently ability 107, or Lay on Hands, isn't present in Underfoot nor in Seeds of Destruction.  Manually changing a character's UI_.ini file out of game in Underfoot and Seeds to force the appearance of ability 107 does not work.  It does work with Titanium.

As control, changing the UI_.ini file to force ability 73 to appear does work in all clients tested.

Lay on Hands, it would appear, is missing from SoD/Underfoot, and is present in Titanium.

Now to find the skill files.  LoH is a spell, and as such the spell is in the spell list (spells_us.txt), but for some reason or another the game can't find it.  Time to figure out a way for it to find it.
15  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Unknown DB String Paladin Class AA on: October 04, 2011, 04:26:00 pm
Well, it appears that Lay on Hands only works on Titanium, and not on SoD nor Underfoot.  Curious.

I wonder if replacing certain SoD/Underfoot files with Titanium ones will fix the issue.
