General Category / General Discussion / I AM NOT A GM!!!

I wrote the original compiled starter guide. I made a wiki for Akkadius. Both are.....HOPELESSLY out of date, because I really dont play anymore. PLEASE, for your own sake and my in box dont mail me with in game issues, donation questions, stock picks, Major League Baseball predictions or anything else. I cant help. Again, NOT a GM!
PS: I would edit the starter guide, perhaps even fix it, but for whatever reason I cannot edit anything in the thread, nor can I reply to that thread.

The compiled starter guide is hopelessly out of date. I would edit it but I cant. I cant even reply to the thread to let people know its out of date there. Click in the "getting started" link and go from there.

The reason for lack of free instances in T10 was an attempt at artificially forcing grouping. Will let you all decide on whether or not it worked or was worth it.

What Orth said. Devs and players who helped design then tweak later elements of the EZ server tried to bring back a bit of the subtlety and complexity of the game, and in some ways succeeded. Which is good, because for a long time EZ was, "Me makes lots of boxes, then hits things with big sticks til they die!" It can still be that way, and a lot of the players do seem to adopt that style of play, but looking at what each class can contribute beyond giving and directly taking DPS can make a huge difference.
The trick on EZ is figuring out what those contributions are, how they best work for you and how to make em work from your controlling character using MQ2.

Been a while since I played, so guys please correct me if my info is dated:
I'd drop the bard from G1 and either shelve it or add to G2. Put shaman in G1 with warrior, and add a zerker to G1 for their group buffs. Then necro and zerk the hell out of G2, maybe add a druid to the pally to help with heals and toss regen and drake to take the edge off heavier hitters and big pulls later. You'll also want druid for hp buffs.

Yeah, its me...your old Unca Chunka, you're least favorite EQ fanboy. I know its been a while since I've been around, but yes, I am still alive. Thought I'd share something with you guys thats been of interest to me lately, a new game created by McQuaid and his buddies called Pantheon. Pantheon is a "classic" MMO, that stresses immersion into the experience, removes the "theme park" from modern MMOs (if such a thing is even possible anymore) and promotes class interdependence. Its currently pre alpha, but there are some interesting gameplay vids out there. Thought I'd share em. A good old fashioned dungeon crawl!Jim Lee plays PantheonLooks interesting, even with pre alpha graphics.

I ended up giving my youngest son PC time "credits" he could buy by doing chores, afterschool activities, etc. back when he was 8, 9 years old. He's 16 now, and spends most of his time outside working on his "new" car (68 Olds Cutlass), playing football or hockey, and fishing....but he still loves playing on the PC when he can. He isnt much for EZ anymore (he used to be my SLS harvester) but he loves ESO with his overgrown man-child of a father.
Anyway, I cant state enough how impressed I am with the new AMD. Here's hoping they can sustain.

Ryzen CPU's are beastly. Using a 1600X to run my second machine, and its every bit as solid as my son's I5 7600K, even slightly stronger for some newer games (ESO, for example). My 7700K is a bit stronger, but not by a ton. AMD really stepped it up with the Ryzen...and Intel's recent response with Coffee Lake wasnt as impressive as I'd hoped.
As for the newer Radeon cards...they are enough to shake me out of my Nvidia tree....though the VEGA wasnt as impressive as I'd hoped. Still, Radeon rules the under $ 300 segment for vid cards as far as I'm concerned (even if cryptominers have driven prices through the roof).
