Sounds like a lot have had this issue, so I'm sure there are multiple reasons it can happen. Personally for me it happened years ago and it was a slow WiFi speed that was causing it. I did a speed test and was getting way under what I should, like 1-2 Mbps. Turned out my wifi was on the same channel as many other houses nearby. Once I switched the channel, it worked like a charm, and speeds were what they should have been.

I'm not saying this is y'all's same problem since so many are seeing it at the moment, but maybe it will help someone. Always worth a speed test to see what speeds you're getting.

Hey, it's free during Halloween. That's how I got all 13 of mine. We could probably start talking about how many of the things are overpriced credit-wise. I'd love buying a ton of triple loots myself, but I never would at their current price. I guess if someone wants the items badly enough, they'll buy them no matter the price. Otherwise they'll wait for Halloween.

Double loot essentially means every mob drops what two mobs would drop ordinarily under regular loot. If there is a 100% chance something will drop, then you will get two of them. If something had a 50% chance of dropping ordinarily, then there's a 25% chance of getting two. If something had a 10% chance of dropping, then there would be a 1% chance of getting two. But overall you'll get twice the loot in the long-run on average.

I may not be exactly right, but I think that's the gist.

I haven't been on in a while because of a new job taking up most of my time and energy. I was halfway through getting my ultimate armor. Every now and then I'll have a night when I'm looking for something to do, but yeah, what are the chances of getting one GSS in one hour if you're pulling whole camps? Not worth it. Maybe one day I'll return when I have larger chunks of time to spend hoping for a single drop I'm after.

The way I see it, I'm either gonna burn out before I finish my UA, or I'll burn out shortly after I finish getting it since there will be nothing left to do. Why not unnerf like people were saying? Give people a shot at being able to do something productive in an hour's time, and they'll continue playing.

I have noticed the SK epic aug 4.5 clicky effect is not working. Click the weapon and doesn't do anything. The berserker epic 3.0 is working fine with the same weapon setup. Also my cleric I am unable to turn in my 4.0 to get the augment (had 4.0 before the augments came out). I was able to with my 4.5 fine.

I remember from a while back that only pally/sk can straight up turn in their weapon for the same level aug. Everyone else would have to, for example, turn in 4.0 weapon with 4.5 book to get 4.5 aug.

I tried sending you a PM with the text from my Gusher_EZ (Linux) 4 Exp.ini file, but I'm not sure if it sent. I'm not sure that's where all the settings from Alt+O are saved though, or is it? My dream solution would be to save the code for my correct Alt+O settings and do a macro like you said to reset everybody's settings to what they should be. I appreciate any help - just let me know what you need. Thanks!

I know this topic has been talked about several times, but I still have yet to come up with a fix. I use the MQ2 autologin, and once everybody is finally up and running, a few random characters will have been singled out, and a few of their settings will have been reset (I presume to default). Settings include all custom key bindings, level of detail toggle, spell particles, combat music, sound levels, chat filters, target click shows help, and fast AA purchase. It's really annoying - when key bindings reset, I'll just relog the character and it will be fine. But for the others, I end up just changing them back manually.

I have heard several times that the last person to camp is the one where the settings get saved from, but I always camp out 11 of my 13 characters simultaneously, saving 1 from each of my two separate EQ folders and camping those two last. But I don't think that helps at all. Does anyone know a fix for this?

You can make most reasonable groups work. Yes some like quintuple warriors, but that could take some patience getting gear for, plus maybe the scenery could get boring along the way. I don't like looking at five big buff guys for extended periods of time. I like more pleasant scenery lol. It's true about rampage in T10, though you have a lot of time to worry about that later. I run war/pal/rng/rng/ber/mnk and dru/clr/pal/shm/rog/enc and then a lone mag. I didn't really make that second group until T10 when I wanted my own buffs. The thing is when you have one group and you stick things like dru/enc in it, you miss out on other high dps classes like rogue/bard/ranger. A compromise could be to have those buffers outside your main group just for support, but then why not make a second group? But just do what you enjoy and what your computer allows. You'll have more fun.

But yeah in general I'd get upgrades on warrior first and then pally.

Awesome! Glad that worked.

I've had that issue before, and it turned out to be very slow WiFi. If using WiFi, check your speed on speedtest.net to see if you're getting what you should. Maybe reset your router and/or change the channel on your modem if it's a commonly used channel amongst your neighbors (I think I use WifiInfo View to see channels being used nearby). Or try connecting to your modem with an Ethernet cable to see if it's the WiFi.

That's a great write-up, Warrchar. I do like the idea of using some older zones. Maybe it is the sheer size or just since they are newer zones, but in LP, OC, and sunderock, I take a severe performance hit. I turn things down but the settings usually reset at some point.

I disagree with the cost per.  Instances should always follow waypoint guidelines.   Free, if you have it.

Agreed or why did i buy the fwp, same with summon raid clickies.

Free Waypoint v2! Combine 10 Free Waypoints in your magic box to create. The v2 will even make free T10 instances!

+1

Particle effects, combat music, key bindings reset on random characters for me. I think the key bindings have something to do with camping out everyone simultaneously but I wonder if logging in simultaneously also causes it sometimes.
14  General Category / Updates / Re: EZ Christmas 2018 on: December 24, 2018, 04:31:40 pm
Thanks, Akka and Rent!

In the spirit of Christmas, suppose p is the probability of a particular item dropping (and it is only allowed to drop once). Then under double loot,

(1-p)^2 is the probability of not getting the item at all,
p^2 is the probability of getting 2 of them, and
2p(1-p) is the probability of getting exactly one of the item.
1-(1-p)^2=1-(1-2p+p^2)=2p-p^2 is the probability of getting at least one of the item.

I don't know if this is popular belief, but notice that neither of the last two probabilities is twice the usual probability of getting the item, which is 2p. Each is very slightly less than 2p, at least if p is small. So double loot is not double the probability. I mean come on, if there used to be a 100% chance, there can't be a 200% chance now.

However, if you run an experiment n times and there is p probability of a success, then the expected number of successes is np. So under normal loot, the expected number of items to drop on the corpse is (1)(p)=p, but under double loot, the expected number per corpse is (2)(p)=2p since the experiment (determining what loot should drop under normal loot) is performed twice. So it's the expected value that doubles, not the probability.

In summary, don't expect twice the chance of dropping. Rather, expect that the total number of items you loot, over a long period of time, should be roughly twice what it ordinarily would be.

If the point is to take less damage, then I would think you would want it to say "increase mitigation" and not change from increase to decrease.

Or do I misunderstand how the language translates into the coding? If you are meant to take 100000 damage and you increase mitigation 15%, you are increasing the degree to which you are making damage less severe, so you would take 85000 damage.
